Minneapolis limo rental prices on Elly8.net range from US$95 an hour in a business sedan to US$190 an hour in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. Occasion packages run from US$380 for a private city tour in a sedan to US$1,710 for a corporate roadshow day in a Sprinter, and an MSP airport transfer to downtown is a fixed US$150 to US$390. All of it is per vehicle and all-in, with the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity included.
Those are ranges you can book, not teaser rates. This guide shows what each kind of booking costs in the Twin Cities, how the cost per person falls as the group grows, which Minnesota rule tells you a quote comes from a permitted limousine operator, and which extra charges to ask about before paying a deposit. Rides in Minneapolis are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.

Price ranges by occasion
Most people do not shop by vehicle class; they shop by the night they are planning. Here is the published Minneapolis list arranged that way.
| Occasion | What to book | Business Sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport arrival or departure | MSP to downtown, one way | US$150 | US$195 | US$390 |
| Arrival and return together | MSP round trip | US$285 | US$375 | US$745 |
| Dinner, short event, a few stops | By the hour, 3-hour minimum | US$285 for 3 hours | US$360 for 3 hours | US$570 for 3 hours |
| Game, concert, birthday | Evening out & event night, 5 hours | US$475 | US$600 | US$950 |
| First visit to the city | Private city highlights tour | US$380 | US$480 | US$760 |
| Wedding day, long outing | Full-day chauffeur | US$700 | US$885 | US$1,400 |
| Investor or client meetings | Corporate roadshow day | US$855 | US$1,080 | US$1,710 |
The First Class sedan and First Class SUV sit between these: US$155 and US$145 an hour, US$775 and US$725 for the evening package, and US$1,145 and US$1,070 for a full day. Seating, from our fleet page: sedans up to 3 passengers, SUVs up to 6 with 6 bags, the Executive Sprinter up to 12 with 12 bags.
Cost per person: the number that matters for groups
A limo looks expensive until you divide it. The vehicle price is fixed, so every extra seat filled lowers the share.
| Booking | Total | 4 people | 6 people | 9 people | 12 people |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business SUV, 5-hour evening | US$600 | US$150 | US$100 | n/a | n/a |
| Executive Sprinter, 3-hour minimum | US$570 | US$143 | US$95 | US$63 | US$48 |
| Executive Sprinter, 5-hour evening | US$950 | US$238 | US$158 | US$106 | US$79 |
| Executive Sprinter, full day | US$1,400 | US$350 | US$233 | US$156 | US$117 |
The crossover is usually around five or six people. Below that, an SUV is better value than the Sprinter; above it, the Sprinter is cheaper per head and keeps the whole group together. For more than twelve, two vehicles often beat one large bus; our Minneapolis limo bus guide covers bigger groups.
Minimums: why a short trip can cost more than you expect
Hourly bookings carry a 3-hour minimum. A 75-minute run to a restaurant in the North Loop and back still bills three hours. That is normal across the industry, and it is the reason a simple A-to-B trip is often better booked as a one-way transfer, which the booker prices for your exact addresses with no hourly minimum.
Two rules of thumb:
- One destination, home later. Book two one-way transfers, or an app ride home if your plans may change.
- Three or more stops, or a car waiting outside. Book hourly or a package. The chauffeur stays with you, and the time between stops is already paid for.
Our hourly chauffeur page explains how the clock runs.
Is the operator permitted? A Minnesota check
Minnesota law gives you a simple way to judge a limousine quote. Under state statute, "limousine service" means a service that is not on a regular route, uses a luxury vehicle seating no more than 15 people including the driver, provides only prearranged pickups, and charges more than a taxi fare for a comparable trip. Nobody may operate a for-hire limousine service without a permit from the state, and each permitted limousine must display a distinctive decal (revisor.mn.gov).
In practice that means three things for you:
- Ask about the permit. A permitted limousine operator can tell you so, and the decal is on the vehicle.
- Expect prearranged pickups. A limousine does not cruise for street hails; you book it in advance, which is exactly how a quote should work.
- Know the size line. Vehicles above 15 seats including the driver are outside the limousine definition and operate under other passenger-carrier authority. Large party buses fall in that group.
The City of Minneapolis, separately, licenses taxicabs and notes that limousines do not need a taxi licence (minneapolismn.gov). Bookings through Elly8.net go to licensed, commercially insured partners, and partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.
Hidden fees: what a complete quote shows
A complete quote states one total. These are the items that most often sit outside the headline rate on limo quotes, with the question that brings each one into the open.
- Gratuity. Is it included, or added as a percentage later? Elly8.net prices include standard gratuity.
- Fuel or service surcharges. Is there a separate line, and how is it calculated? Our prices have none.
- Garage time. Does the clock start when the vehicle leaves its base? Ask for the start and end times in writing.
- Overtime. What does each extra hour, or part-hour, cost? On Elly8.net, waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost.
- Tolls and parking. Included, estimated or extra? Ours are billed at cost.
- Cleaning. What triggers a cleaning fee? Damage beyond normal use may be charged at cost by the operator.
- Cancellation. What do you lose, and when? Ours: free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, refunded to the original card.
Compare totals, not hourly rates. A lower hourly rate with a longer Saturday minimum, a fuel surcharge and gratuity added on top can easily cost more than an all-in rate that looked higher at first glance. Our pages on how much a limo costs and black car vs limousine cover the comparison in general terms.
Worked examples for the Twin Cities
A Lake Minnetonka wedding. Wayzata is about 13 mi (21 km) from downtown, roughly 20 minutes on a clear road. A First Class sedan for the couple on a full day is US$1,145; a Sprinter for the wedding party on a full day is US$1,400. For guests, a Sprinter on a timed loop between the hotel and the venue costs the same daily rate. See wedding limousine and guest shuttles.
A Stillwater anniversary dinner. Stillwater on the St. Croix is about 26 mi (42 km) from downtown, roughly 37 minutes each way. A business sedan on the 5-hour evening package, US$475, covers the drive, dinner and the return.
The Minnesota State Fair. The 2027 fair runs August 26 to Labor Day, September 6 (mnstatefair.org). A business SUV for six on the evening package is US$600, or US$100 each, with drop-off and pickup at points agreed in advance near the gates.
A Wild game in St. Paul. The arena formerly known as Xcel Energy Center now operates as Grand Casino Arena. An Executive Sprinter for twelve on the evening package is US$950, about US$79 each. See sports event transportation.
A day of client meetings. The Corporate roadshow day, from US$855 in a business sedan, keeps one chauffeur waiting at each stop across downtown and the suburbs. A corporate account adds monthly invoicing.
Prom and graduation. Spring Saturdays are the busiest for student groups. An Executive Sprinter for twelve on the 5-hour evening package is US$950, about US$79 per student, with the pickup list, the venue and a firm return time agreed with parents. Student groups book a no-alcohol vehicle, and the chauffeur follows Minnesota's rules on everything inside it. See prom and graduation limousines.
A dinner-and-drinks crawl. Northeast Minneapolis and the North Loop both sit close to downtown, which suits the 3-hour minimum: short hops between stops, with the chauffeur waiting outside each one and the coats staying in the car. Four stops in an SUV for six, US$360 for three hours, works out at US$60 each, and nobody needs to drive.
Winter changes the plan, not the price
From December to March, roads slow and walks from curbs get colder. Fixed packages do not change price for snow, but long legs take longer, so a five-hour night with a suburban start may run into overtime. Build in a buffer, ask the chauffeur to drop at covered entrances where possible, and choose an SUV if the group has coats, boots and bags. If the night starts at the airport, our MSP car service guide explains the pickup.

Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way to rent a limo in Minneapolis?
For a short trip, a one-way transfer priced in the web booker avoids the hourly minimum. For a night out, a business sedan on the 3-hour minimum costs US$285 all-in. For groups, an Executive Sprinter shared by twelve people works out at about US$48 each for three hours or US$79 each for the 5-hour evening package.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Yes. Hourly bookings have a 3-hour minimum. Packages have their own set length, such as the 5-hour Evening out & event night. One-way transfers and fixed MSP airport fares have no hourly minimum, which makes them better value for a simple trip from one address to another.
Does the price include the tip?
Yes. Every Elly8.net price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity, and airport fares include meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. You may add a further tip for exceptional service, but it is not expected.
How do I know a Minneapolis limo company is legitimate?
Minnesota requires a state permit for for-hire limousine service, and each permitted vehicle displays a decal. Ask the operator about its permit and insurance, and get the vehicle, hours, total price and cancellation terms in writing. Bookings through Elly8.net go to licensed, commercially insured partners.
How much is a stretch limo in Minneapolis?
Stretch limousines, seating up to 8, and stretch SUV limousines, seating up to 16, are priced in the web booker for your date and hours, all-in. If you need a fixed price straight away for up to 12 people, the Executive Sprinter is US$190 an hour with a 3-hour minimum.
Do prices rise for the State Fair or prom season?
Our listed prices stay the same. Availability is what changes: late-summer fair days and spring Saturdays fill the larger vehicles first. Book several weeks ahead for those dates, confirm the head count early and agree pickup points away from the busiest gates.
