Most Boston weddings need between one and four vehicles: a car for the couple, a larger vehicle for the wedding party, sometimes a car for parents and grandparents, and one or more guest shuttles if the ceremony and reception are in different places. The number depends less on the size of the wedding than on how many separate movements the day has and how many guests need a ride.
On Elly8.net, a First Class Sedan for the couple is US$160 an hour, a 12-seat Executive Sprinter for the wedding party is US$200 an hour, and a Business SUV for family is US$125 an hour, each with a three-hour minimum and all-in. Rides in Boston are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How many cars does a Boston wedding need?
Count movements, not guests. Most weddings need one car for the couple, one Executive Sprinter for a wedding party of up to 12, and, when ceremony and reception are apart, one Sprinter per 12 guests who need a ride, or one Sprinter running loops. Family members who need help add a Business SUV.
Start with a list of everyone who needs to be moved and the times they move. That list, not the guest count, decides the number of vehicles.
The four vehicles most Boston weddings use
The couple's car. A First Class Sedan (S-Class or 7 Series tier, up to 3 passengers) at US$160 an hour, or a classic stretch limousine, priced in the web booker. The sedan is quieter and easier with a long dress on narrow Beacon Hill or North End streets; the stretch has the look many couples want in their photographs.
The wedding party. An Executive Sprinter seats up to 12 with a high roof, which helps with formal clothes and bouquets, at US$200 an hour. A Stretch SUV Limousine seats up to 16 and is priced in the booker.
Parents and grandparents. A Business SUV for up to 6 at US$125 an hour, or a First Class SUV at US$150. Older relatives often appreciate a car of their own between the ceremony, the photographs and the reception, especially if the photo session is long.
Guest shuttles. Executive Sprinters running between the hotel block and the venues. One Sprinter carries 12 guests per trip; two loops of a single Sprinter move 24. See wedding limousine and group transportation for how we plan shuttle loops.
The fleet page lists seats and bags for every class.
A simple formula for guest shuttles
- Count the guests who will need a ride: usually those staying at the hotel block, plus anyone you do not want driving after the reception.
- Divide by 12 to get the number of Sprinter trips.
- Decide how many of those trips can be loops of the same vehicle. A loop between a Back Bay hotel and a Seaport venue is short; a loop to a venue outside the city is not.
- Add a late return run at the end of the night, timed to the last dance.
For 40 guests at a Back Bay hotel going to a Seaport reception, two Sprinters running two loops each cover everyone in under an hour, with a return run at the end. For the same guests going to a venue on the North Shore, you would usually book enough Sprinters to move everyone at once.
A Boston wedding day, hour by hour, costed
Here is a typical city wedding: a ceremony at a church in Back Bay, photographs in the Public Garden, and a reception at a hotel ballroom in the Seaport.
| Time | Movement | Vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| 1:30 p.m. | Couple's car collects one partner at the hotel | First Class Sedan |
| 2:00 p.m. | Wedding party from the hotel to the church | Executive Sprinter |
| 2:15 p.m. | Parents and grandparents to the church | Business SUV |
| 3:30 p.m. | Couple and wedding party to the Public Garden for photographs | First Class Sedan and Sprinter |
| 4:00 p.m. | Guests from the hotel to the reception | Sprinter running loops |
| 5:00 p.m. | Couple and wedding party to the reception | First Class Sedan and Sprinter |
| 11:30 p.m. | Late return run for guests | Sprinter |
Costed on the Boston hourly rates: the First Class Sedan for five hours is US$800; the wedding party Sprinter for four hours is US$800; the family Business SUV for three hours is US$375; a guest Sprinter for the arrival loops and the late return, booked as two separate three-hour blocks, is US$1,200. That is US$3,175 in total for a fully covered day, with taxes and standard gratuity included. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
The Public Garden and the Common are city parks run by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. Parking around them is very limited, so give the chauffeur a drop-off and pickup corner, and let your photographer confirm any rules that apply to the session.
Small weddings and elopements
Not every wedding needs a convoy. For a small ceremony with a handful of guests, one First Class Sedan for the couple and one Business SUV for close family is usually enough. Three hours in a First Class Sedan, the minimum, is US$480, which covers the ceremony, a photo walk around Beacon Hill or along the Charles, and the drive to dinner. If the whole party is under a dozen people, a single Executive Sprinter for three hours, US$600, keeps everyone together for the day.
The rehearsal dinner and the day after
Two other movements are easy to forget. The rehearsal dinner the night before often moves the wedding party and both families from a hotel to a restaurant and back, which fits the evening out package: US$625 in a Business SUV or US$1,000 in an Executive Sprinter. On the day after, guests head back to Logan at different times; a list of departure flights sent to the desk lets us group guests on the same flight bank into one vehicle.
Weddings outside the city
Boston couples often marry outside the city: on the North Shore, in the western suburbs, on Cape Cod, or in Newport. Distance changes the plan in two ways. Loops become impractical, so guest shuttles usually move everyone at once, and hourly bookings get longer because the drive counts. Our guide to Boston to Cape Cod by private car gives drive times to Hyannis, Falmouth and Chatham and explains the bridge traffic on summer Saturdays. For Rhode Island weddings, our Providence car service covers the Providence side, and the Boston signature day trip to the Newport mansions is a 10-hour package from US$920 in a Business Sedan.
Out-of-town guests landing at Logan
Many guests fly in. A chauffeur meeting them inside arrivals at Logan with a name board, with the flight tracked, is a thoughtful welcome. Logan to Back Bay is US$130 in a Business Sedan, US$170 in a Business SUV and US$340 in an Executive Sprinter for a group arriving together. Massport notes on its taxis and limos page that limo service at Logan is by prior reservation only, so book guest arrivals ahead. See airport transfers and meet and greet.
When to book wedding cars in Boston
Book the cars as soon as the venues are fixed, often nine to twelve months ahead for a Saturday between May and October. Three Boston calendar points deserve special care:
- Marathon weekend. The Boston Marathon runs on Monday, April 19, 2027, according to the Boston Athletic Association, with the finish on Boylston Street in Back Bay. Streets on and near the course close on race day, and the whole weekend is busy in Back Bay.
- Graduation weekends. Boston University's All-University Commencement is on Sunday, May 16, 2027, according to BU, and MIT's ceremonies run May 26 to 28, 2027. Hotels and vehicles are in heavy demand.
- Autumn Saturdays. September and October are peak wedding months across New England.
Our prices do not change with the date, but availability does. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%, refunded to the original card. That makes early booking low-risk.
Common mistakes, and how to avoid them
Booking too few hours. Photographs always run long. Book the couple's car and the wedding party Sprinter for the whole span from first pickup to arrival at the reception, plus a buffer.
Forgetting the return. Guests who came on a shuttle need a ride back. Book the late run when you book the arrival loops.
One vehicle for everyone. A single stretch limousine for the couple and the whole wedding party means nobody can move separately. Two vehicles cost more but keep the day flexible.
No written timeline. Send the timeline, addresses and contacts with the booking. Name one person, not the couple, as the contact for the desk on the day.
Alcohol plans. The chauffeur follows local rules on alcohol in vehicles; do not plan the day around drinking in the car.

Child seats, accessibility and special requests
Flower girls and ring bearers often need child seats; add the age and weight of each child when you book and the seats are fitted before pickup. Guests with limited mobility can be booked in a Business SUV with the chauffeur assisting at each stop. Ribbons and simple decorations are usually fine; tell the desk in advance so the chauffeur can confirm.
How to book your Boston wedding transport
- Make a list of movements: who, from where, to where, and when.
- Choose the vehicles and the hours on the Boston car service price panel, or enter each movement in the web booker for stretch limousines and out-of-town venues.
- Reserve and pay by card, then send the full timeline and the day-of contact to the desk. Confirmation arrives by email.

How far in advance should we book wedding cars in Boston?
As soon as the venues are fixed, often nine to twelve months ahead for Saturdays from May to October. Graduation weekends in May and Marathon weekend in April are especially busy. Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup makes early booking low-risk.
Can the chauffeur wait during the ceremony and photographs?
Yes. On hourly bookings the chauffeur and vehicle stay with you, waiting at the church, the photo location and the reception. Extra time beyond the booked hours is billed at the hourly rate for the vehicle.
Can you provide child seats for the flower girl and ring bearer?
Yes, on request. Give each child's age and weight when you book and the seats are fitted before the first pickup. A Business SUV with seats works well for a family with young children.
