To rent a limo in Winnipeg through Elly8.net, you choose a vehicle and a block of time, or a fixed package, and the price is set before the day: from US$110 an hour in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV and US$220 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, each with a 3-hour minimum. Stretch limousines, stretch SUVs and party buses are priced in the web booker for your date and route.
Winnipeg is an easy city to plan around once you know three things: where the trips go, when the roads slow down, and which weekends the whole city heads to the same place. This guide covers each, from the Exchange District to Princess Auto Stadium, from February's Festival du Voyageur to August's Folklorama, and ends with how to book.

How limo rental works in Winnipeg
The City of Winnipeg regulates vehicles for hire, and its passenger information page sets out the rules that shape a limo booking. Only taxis can be hailed from the street; limousines can be hailed at the airport only. Every other trip with a personal transportation provider, including limousines, must be pre-arranged before the vehicle arrives. Limousine fares are not regulated, but they must be available and agreed in advance.
That last rule is the one to hold onto. In Winnipeg, a limousine operator sets its own price, so the protection is getting the price in writing before the day. Elly8.net does that by design: the number on your confirmation is fixed and all-in. Rides in Winnipeg are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer.
Where Winnipeg limo bookings actually go
Downtown and Portage and Main. Most hotels, head offices and the RBC Convention Centre are within a few blocks of Portage Avenue. Canada Life Centre, home of the Jets and the Manitoba Moose, is on Portage too, so game and concert nights concentrate traffic here.
The Exchange District. The city's turn-of-the-century warehouses and bank buildings now hold restaurants, bars, galleries and studios. Streets are narrow and some blocks are busy at night, so we agree a specific corner or door for pickups.
The Forks and St. Boniface. The Forks, where the Red and Assiniboine rivers meet, is a market and public space with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights beside it. Across the river, St. Boniface is the heart of French-speaking Winnipeg and home to the Festival du Voyageur.
Osborne Village and Corydon Avenue. South of the Assiniboine, these are the city's restaurant and nightlife strips, popular for birthday dinners and nights out.
Wellington Crescent and Assiniboine Park. Leafy, residential and a favourite for wedding photos, Assiniboine Park has gardens, the zoo and open lawns.
Princess Auto Stadium. Home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the stadium is at the University of Manitoba in Fort Garry, about 12 km (7.5 mi) south of downtown by routing data. On game days, getting in and out is the part that needs planning.
The airport. Winnipeg Richardson International (YWG) is about 12 km (7 mi) from downtown. Our Winnipeg airport limo guide walks through a pickup step by step.
Traffic peaks and winter driving
Winnipeg traffic is lighter than in most Canadian cities of its size, but it has predictable pinch points:
- Weekday rush hours on Portage Avenue, Pembina Highway and the bridges over the Red and Assiniboine.
- Game nights downtown, when the blocks around Canada Life Centre fill about an hour before puck drop and empty all at once afterwards.
- Bombers game days, when Pembina Highway and the routes into the University of Manitoba campus are busy before and after kickoff.
- After a snowfall, when main roads are cleared first and side streets later.
We plan around all four. For game nights, the chauffeur agrees a pickup point a short walk from the doors rather than joining the crush at the main entrance. In winter, we pick up at a door rather than a corner, choose an SUV for families and heavy coats between December and March, and build in time after storms. If the weather turns on the day of an early flight, the desk contacts you about leaving earlier.
The Winnipeg calendar: when everyone books at once
Festival du Voyageur, February. Western Canada's largest francophone festival takes over St. Boniface every winter. The festival's site gives the 2027 dates as February 12 to 21. Evenings at the festival grounds are cold and late, which makes an hourly car or the evening out package a popular choice for groups.
JUNO Week, April 2027. The JUNO Awards return to Winnipeg in 2027, with JUNO Week from April 1 to 4 and the broadcast from Canada Life Centre, according to the CBC and JUNO Awards announcement. Artist teams and industry groups book cars by the evening; NDAs are available on request. See event transportation.
Folklorama, August. Folklorama takes place every August, with performances, food and culture from many of Manitoba's ethno-cultural communities at venues across the city. Visiting several in one evening is exactly what an hourly Executive Sprinter is for; our Winnipeg limo bus guide covers group planning.
Jets and Moose, through the winter. Hockey nights at Canada Life Centre are the city's most reliable source of event traffic. See sports event transportation.
Blue Bombers, summer into autumn. Football at Princess Auto Stadium brings tailgates and big crowds to the south end of the city.
Wedding season and grads. Late spring through early autumn is wedding season, and grad nights cluster in late spring. Book these dates early. See wedding limousine service and prom and graduation limousines.

Which vehicle for which Winnipeg trip
| Trip | Group | Vehicle | Typical booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airport to a downtown hotel | 1 to 3 | Business sedan | Fixed fare, US$100 |
| Winter family arrival | up to 6, with coats and car seats | Business SUV | Fixed fare, US$130 |
| Client dinner in the Exchange District | 2 to 3 | First class sedan | Hourly, 3 hours from US$540 |
| Jets game with dinner first | up to 6 | Business SUV | Evening out package, US$700 |
| Folklorama evening | 8 to 12 | Executive Sprinter | Hourly, from US$220 per hour |
| Wedding day, couple's car | 2 | First class sedan or stretch limousine | Full day, or hourly |
| Wedding guests between venues | up to 12 | Executive Sprinter | Hourly or full day |
| Multi-site business day | 1 to 3 | Business or first class sedan | Corporate roadshow day, from US$990 |
The rule of thumb: sedans for up to 3 passengers and 2 bags, SUVs for up to 6 passengers and 6 bags, the Executive Sprinter for up to 12 and 12. In winter, size up; coats and boots take more room than people expect. The fleet page lists every class, including stretch limousines for up to 8 and stretch SUVs for up to 16. If you are torn between a classic stretch and a black car, black car vs limousine sets out the trade-offs.
Corporate days and visiting teams
Winnipeg's business travel centres on finance and insurance, transportation and logistics, aerospace, agriculture and government, with head offices downtown and plants on the city's edges. A corporate roadshow day, from US$990 in a business sedan, keeps one chauffeur with you between meetings, and a full-day chauffeur starts at US$810. Companies booking regularly can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing and traveller profiles. See corporate car service.
Is a rented limo worth it, or is a taxi enough?
For a single short trip, a taxi is often the better buy, and we say so. The City sets a maximum taxi fare, and a cab across downtown costs a fraction of a three-hour booking. Our Winnipeg taxi or rideshare guide works through the meter and the apps.
A rented limo makes sense when the evening has several stops, when you want the vehicle waiting outside in the cold, when a group needs to arrive together, or when the price must be agreed in advance for an invoice. Divided across a group, an hourly Sprinter at US$220 is about US$18 per person per hour for twelve; that division is arithmetic for comparison only, as every Elly8.net price is per vehicle. See chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rent a limo in Winnipeg?
By the hour, Elly8.net starts at US$110 in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV and US$220 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, fixed and all-in per vehicle. Stretch limousines, stretch SUVs and party buses are priced in the web booker for your date and hours.
Are limousine prices regulated in Winnipeg?
No. The City of Winnipeg regulates maximum taxi fares, but limousine fares are not regulated; they must be available and agreed in advance. That is why it matters to have the full price in writing. Elly8.net prices are fixed before you travel and include the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity.
Can you hail a limo on the street in Winnipeg?
No. Only taxis can be hailed from the street. Limousines can be hailed at the airport only, and every other limousine trip must be pre-arranged before the vehicle arrives. Book through the Elly8.net web booker or a fixed package and the chauffeur arrives at the agreed time.
When should we book for Festival du Voyageur or Folklorama?
As early as you can. Festival du Voyageur 2027 runs February 12 to 21, and Folklorama takes place every August. Both bring group outings across the city on the same evenings, and Executive Sprinters are the first vehicles to be reserved. For JUNO Week in April 2027, book as soon as your schedule is set.
What is the best vehicle for a Jets game?
For up to six, a business SUV on the evening out package, US$700, covers dinner, the game and the ride home, with a pickup point agreed near Canada Life Centre. For bigger groups, an Executive Sprinter keeps everyone together, from US$1,100 on the same package for up to twelve.
Can you handle winter weather?
Yes. We plan door pickups, choose SUVs for families between December and March, and build in time after snowfalls. The desk watches the forecast on your travel days and contacts you if an earlier departure is wise. Flight tracking keeps airport pickups matched to the actual landing.
