An Ottawa airport limo booked through Elly8.net meets you inside the arrivals hall at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) with a name board, walks you to the curb the airport reserves for pre-arranged cars, and drives you to Parliament Hill or your hotel at a fixed price: US$105 in a Business Sedan, US$185 in a First Class Sedan and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur tracks your flight, so an early or late landing changes the pickup time, not the price.
YOW is a compact airport, and most of what can go wrong is small: the wrong level, the wrong curb, a driver who is not allowed to wait outside. This guide from the Elly8.net reservations desk walks through a booking step by step, using the airport authority's own rules, and compares a fixed fare with the taxi meter, the ride apps and the O-Train. Airport, transit and app figures are in Canadian dollars; Elly8.net prices are in US dollars, per vehicle.
Where does an airport limo pick you up at YOW?
Inside the arrivals hall on Level 1, with a name board, after baggage or customs. The chauffeur then walks you to the curb that the Ottawa International Airport Authority assigns to pre-arranged services such as luxury vehicles, at pillars 12 and 13 outside Level 1. Loading is not permitted on Level 3, the departures level.
The airport's ground transportation page sets the layout. All licensed transportation is on Level 1, Arrivals. Pre-arranged services, which it describes as luxury vehicles or patient transfers, use pillars 12 and 13. Ride apps also load at pillars 12 and 13, on the curb furthest from the terminal; the taxi queue forms outside the centre door; hotel shuttles use pillars 13 to 15.
Step 1: booking, before you fly
A smooth YOW pickup starts with four details:
- Your flight number. This is the most important one. The chauffeur tracks the flight, so the pickup follows the actual landing rather than the scheduled time.
- Passengers and bags. Vehicle choice depends on luggage as much as on seats; see the table in Step 4.
- Child seats. Available on request. Give the age and weight of each child and the seat is fitted before pickup.
- Where you are going. Parliament Hill and downtown have a listed fare; any other Ottawa or Gatineau address, Kanata or a Montreal run is quoted exactly in the web booker.
You receive a confirmation by email, and the chauffeur's details before you travel. If you are flying in privately, add the tail number; the desk arranges the pickup at the operator's lounge, or planeside where the handler allows it. See private jet and FBO car service.
Step 2: landing, and why you do not need to call
Once you land, the flight-tracking work is already done. The chauffeur has followed the flight from departure and is at the airport for the actual landing. Domestic arrivals usually reach the hall soonest; international arrivals clear customs first, and for those the chauffeur watches the flight status rather than a fixed clock. Anyone collecting you can follow the same flight on the airport's arrivals board.
There is complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, which covers the normal walk, the baggage carousel and a customs queue. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk tells you before that point is reached. If something unusual happens, such as a bag left behind or a long secondary inspection, message the chauffeur or the 24/7 desk and the plan adjusts.
Step 3: the meeting point inside arrivals
Your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board. Passenger names can be replaced with a reference or a company name if you prefer discretion; ask when you book. This matters at YOW for a practical reason. The airport's pick-up and drop-off page says the arrivals and departures curbs are reserved for active loading and unloading only, and vehicles are not permitted to park or wait along either curb. Drivers collecting passengers are sent to the Cell Phone Lot, and unattended vehicles are ticketed and towed.
A chauffeur who meets you inside avoids all of that. The car is parked, the chauffeur is in the hall, and you walk out together to the pre-arranged curb at pillars 12 and 13 when you are ready. Parking for the meet is billed at cost, as on every Elly8.net airport fare. Our airport meet and greet page explains the service in more detail.
Step 4: matching the vehicle to your luggage
Choosing the right vehicle before you land is the simplest way to avoid a cramped ride. These are the capacities in the Elly8.net fleet guide, with the fixed YOW to Parliament Hill fare for each.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | YOW to Parliament Hill | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$105 | One or two travellers with standard cases |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$185 | Executives and VIP arrivals |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$140 | Families, skis, extra luggage |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$170 | Premium arrivals with luggage |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$275 | Delegations, teams, tour groups |
For golf bags, skis, strollers or a wheelchair, tell the desk; a larger vehicle is often the right call. A family of four with four cases fits a Business SUV at US$140, which is US$35 each as arithmetic for comparison only; the fare is per vehicle, never per person.
Step 5: the drive into the city
YOW sits about 14 km (9 mi) south of Parliament Hill, roughly 18 minutes on a clear road. The usual route runs north on the Airport Parkway into the city. At the weekday morning and afternoon peaks, and on snowy evenings, the drive takes longer, but your fare does not change: it was fixed when you booked.
Common destinations from YOW:
- Parliament Hill, the Château Laurier and the Rideau Centre area: the listed fare, US$105 in a Business Sedan.
- ByWard Market and Lower Town hotels: just beyond the Hill; quoted in the web booker.
- Rogers Centre Ottawa, the convention centre beside the Rideau Canal: downtown, quoted in the booker.
- Kanata and the Canadian Tire Centre: a longer west-end run on Highway 417.
- Gatineau: across the river, where bridge traffic is the variable.
- Montreal, Mont-Tremblant or Kingston: city-to-city runs priced exactly in the booker; see city to city car service, Montreal and Mont-Tremblant.
Departures: the same fare, timed to your flight
Every Elly8.net airport fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so Parliament Hill to YOW is also US$105 in a Business Sedan. The desk sets the pickup time from your flight, allowing for the time of day and the season, and the chauffeur uses the curb the airport assigns to pre-arranged services. If you are flying to the United States, allow extra time at the airport for border formalities before your flight. The round trip, YOW to Parliament Hill and back, starts at US$200 in a Business Sedan.
Flat rate or meter: how the YOW options compare
There are good reasons to choose each option, and the honest comparison depends on who you are and when you land.
O-Train Line 4. The airport says Line 4 runs from 6:00 a.m. to midnight between the Airport station, connected to Level 3 at the north end of the terminal, and South Keys station, where you change trains for the city. OC Transpo's fares page lists the adult fare at C$4.10 by Presto card or tap, C$4.15 in cash, with daily fares capped at the C$12.25 DayPass.
Bus route 105. The airport says it runs 24 hours a day, every 30 minutes, from the departures roadway on Level 3 at the south end, at the same fare.
Taxi. The queue forms outside the centre door on Level 1, and fully accessible vehicles are available on request from the on-site attendant. The airport's page lists the queue but no fixed taxi fare, so the price depends on the route and traffic.
Ride apps. Uber and Lyft load at pillars 12 and 13. Uber's YOW page publishes past-month averages from Ottawa to the airport, such as about CA$31 for UberX and CA$52 for UberXL, and says they are not fixed or guaranteed prices.
| YOW to downtown | Price | Fixed in advance? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| O-Train Line 4 plus a transfer | C$4.10 tap / C$4.15 cash | Yes | One traveller, light bag, daytime |
| Route 105 bus | same fare, 24 hours | Yes | Night arrivals on a budget |
| Taxi | depends on route and traffic | No | Short-notice solo trips |
| Ride app | set in the app | Once accepted | Flexible, off-peak trips |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$105 all-in | Yes, at booking | Late flights, meetings, fixed budgets |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$275 all-in | Yes, at booking | Groups of up to 12 with bags |
Our view is simple. One traveller with a carry-on landing at mid-afternoon does well on the O-Train or the bus. A pre-booked car earns its fixed price on a late arrival, with a family and child seats, with a group and luggage, or when a meeting on the Hill cannot wait. The broader arguments are on chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
Delegations and repeat travellers
Ottawa airport work often involves delegations, ministers' staff and visiting executives. Matched vehicles, such as a lead First Class Sedan with a Business SUV and an Executive Sprinter for staff and luggage, go on one booking and one invoice, with discreet name boards and NDAs on request. See government and diplomatic transportation. Companies flying regularly into YOW open a corporate account for monthly invoicing and saved traveller profiles.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo from Ottawa airport to downtown?
A fixed, all-in Elly8.net Business Sedan from YOW to Parliament Hill is US$105, a Business SUV US$140, a First Class Sedan US$185, a First Class SUV US$170 and an Executive Sprinter US$275. Prices include the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Parking and extra waiting are billed at cost.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at YOW?
Inside the arrivals hall on Level 1, holding a name board, after you collect your bags or clear customs. The chauffeur then walks you to the curb the airport reserves for pre-arranged services, at pillars 12 and 13 outside Level 1. You receive the chauffeur's contact details before you fly.
How long will the chauffeur wait if my flight is late?
The chauffeur tracks your flight and adjusts to the actual landing, so a delay does not use up your waiting time. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing and covers baggage and customs. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk tells you before that begins.
Why can't my driver just wait at the curb?
The airport authority reserves the arrivals and departures curbs for active loading only and sends waiting drivers to the Cell Phone Lot; unattended vehicles are ticketed and towed. A chauffeur who parks and meets you inside the hall avoids that, and walks you to the pre-arranged pickup curb when you are ready.
Is the fare the same from downtown to the airport?
Yes. Every Elly8.net airport fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so Parliament Hill to YOW is US$105 in a Business Sedan and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter. The desk sets the pickup time from your flight and the time of day, and the round trip starts at US$200.
Can I cancel an Ottawa airport booking?
Yes. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, refunded to the original card. If your flight is cancelled, contact the desk to move the pickup.
