A Kingston airport limo through Elly8.net costs US$95 in a business sedan from Kingston Norman Rogers Airport (YGK) to downtown Kingston, US$125 in a Business SUV and US$250 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in per vehicle. The airport is about 11 km (7 mi) west of downtown, roughly 16 minutes on a clear road, and the same fixed price applies on the way back to the airport.
What surprises first-time visitors is how people arrive at YGK. According to the YGK Airport arrivals page, the scheduled service currently operating between YGK and Toronto is Air Canada's Landline bus, so many "airport" pickups in Kingston are really coach arrivals, alongside private and charter aircraft. This guide walks through both, then the drive, the luggage and the price.
What happens when you arrive at YGK?
Your chauffeur tracks the Landline coach or your flight, waits inside the terminal with a name board, helps with the bags and walks you to the car a few steps away. Downtown is about 16 minutes on a clear road. The fare, from US$95 in a sedan, is fixed before you travel and includes waiting after a tracked arrival.
Rides in Kingston are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. The steps below are the same whether you arrive by coach, on a charter or on a business aircraft.

Step by step: from arrival to the car
1. Before you travel. Book with your Air Canada itinerary or, for a private flight, the operator, tail number and estimated arrival time. Add the number of passengers and bags, and any child seats; seats are available on request and fitted before pickup.
2. Tracking. For a Landline arrival, the desk follows the Air Canada itinerary that the coach segment belongs to; for an aircraft, the flight. If the flight into Pearson is late and the coach leaves later, the pickup moves with it.
3. The meeting point. The chauffeur waits inside the YGK terminal with a name board. For a private aircraft, the meeting point is the FBO door, which we confirm with the operator. YGK is a small terminal, so the walk from the door to the car is short.
4. Waiting. There is complimentary waiting after a tracked arrival, so a slow bag reclaim or a delayed coach does not cost you anything extra. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost.
5. The drive. Downtown hotels, the waterfront and Queen's University are about 16 minutes away on a clear road; the hotels near Highway 401 and the west end are closer. The chauffeur helps with bags at the hotel door.
6. Confirmation. You receive the reservation by email when you book, and the 24/7 desk is reachable if your plans change on the day.
The Landline coach: how a Pearson connection reaches Kingston
The Visit Kingston getting-here guide explains the arrangement: Air Canada's partnership with Landline runs a motorcoach between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and YGK, booked at aircanada.com with Kingston as the final destination, and from 1 May 2026 the service expanded to four non-stop round trips a day. You check in once, receive boarding passes for both segments and earn Aeroplan points on the coach as well as the flight.
For a solo traveller already ticketed through Air Canada, that is an efficient way to reach Kingston, and we say so plainly. The chauffeur's job then starts at YGK: the last 11 km to a hotel, a Queen's residence or a home west of the city.
Departing on Landline. YGK publishes the deadlines: bag check closes 30 minutes before departure, check-in closes 20 minutes before departure and boarding begins 15 minutes before departure. Our pickup time works back from those numbers, the distance from your address and the season, so you reach the terminal with margin. The airport fare is the same in either direction.
Terminal hours. YGK lists terminal hours of 2 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including holidays. Plan pickups and drop-offs inside those windows, and tell us if your itinerary falls near the edge of one.
Private and charter aircraft at YGK
Kingston also handles business aviation. The YGK aviation services page lists a partner fixed-base operator, fuelling and ground power, hangar partners, and Canada Border Services Agency clearance for passengers arriving from outside Canada.
For a private arrival, send us:
- the aircraft operator and tail number;
- the estimated arrival time, updated if it changes;
- whether the flight is arriving from outside Canada, because customs clearance comes first;
- the number of passengers and bags, including golf clubs or equipment cases.
The chauffeur meets you at the FBO, loads the bags at the aircraft side when the FBO allows it, and drives you downtown or wherever the day starts. Our private jet and FBO car service page explains how these meets work in every city.
Luggage: which vehicle for your bags
Luggage decides the vehicle more often than passengers do. These capacities come from the fleet page.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | YGK to downtown | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$95 | one or two travellers, light luggage |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$170 | executives, a premium cabin |
| Business SUV / Van | up to 6 | 6 | US$125 | families, students moving in |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$155 | a premium SUV for a family or team |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$250 | wedding parties, teams, faculty groups |
A rule of thumb from the desk: if the bags outnumber the seats in a sedan, book the Business SUV. At US$125 it is only US$30 more than the sedan from YGK, and it ends the boot-packing puzzle. A YGK round trip starts at US$185 in a sedan and US$475 in an Executive Sprinter.
Students and families. Queen's move-in weekend in late summer is the heaviest luggage day of the year. Book a Business SUV or a Sprinter early, and add the residence's arrival instructions to the booking; see our Kingston limo and car service page for more on university travel.
Flat rate vs metered: what the alternatives cost
Kingston gives you real choices at the airport, and the cheapest one is not always wrong.
Taxi. Kingston taxis are metered under the City's tariff, which since 1 October 2026 the City of Kingston administers directly. The Passenger Transportation Services By-Law sets CA$4.50 for the first 135 metres, CA$0.30 for each further 135 metres, CA$0.50 per extra passenger and CA$0.50 for use of the trunk, with waiting charged by time. Run the arithmetic for 11 km and the distance charge alone comes to roughly CA$29, before waiting, passengers and bags; traffic and the route move it either way. Our Kingston taxi or rideshare guide works through more examples.
Rideshare. YGK confirms Uber is available in Kingston. Prices are dynamic and depend on how many drivers are near the airport when you land, which matters most at the edges of the day.
Bus. The YGK parking and local transportation page notes that Kingston Transit does not currently serve the airport; the nearest stop is an Express stop at Days Road and Front Road, on the 502 Express and Route 6. With luggage, that walk is the deciding factor.
| YGK to downtown Kingston | Price | What decides it | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi | metered, about CA$29 in distance charges for 11 km before extras | meter, waiting, passengers, trunk | solo walk-up arrivals |
| Rideshare | dynamic price | drivers nearby, time of day | flexible solo travellers |
| Kingston Transit | CA$3.50 in coins, from a stop off the airport | walk to Days Road and Front Road | light bags, no hurry |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$95 fixed, all-in | booked in advance | late arrivals, fixed budgets |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$250 fixed, all-in | booked in advance | groups and luggage |
The honest reading: one traveller with a carry-on in the middle of the day can take a taxi or a rideshare and save money. A pre-booked car wins when the arrival time is uncertain, when there are three or more people or a lot of bags, when children need seats, when the trip is going on to a meeting, or when the receipt needs to go to a corporate account. Our general chauffeur vs taxi page covers the same trade-off in other cities.
Skipping YGK: Pearson straight to Kingston
Some travellers would rather not change at Pearson at all. A chauffeur from Pearson to downtown Kingston covers about 278 km (173 mi), roughly 201 minutes on a clear Highway 401, for US$565 in a Business Sedan, US$735 in a Business SUV, US$990 in a First Class Sedan and US$1,470 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in. A round trip is US$1,075 in a sedan.
That trade is worth making for a family of four or five with luggage, for a group, or for anyone landing after a long-haul flight who wants one vehicle door to door. The chauffeur meets you inside arrivals at Pearson Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 after baggage and customs. Our comparison of Toronto to Kingston by private car, train, coach or driving yourself sets out all the options for that leg.
Where people go from YGK, and what changes the drive
The published price is to downtown Kingston, and most YGK pickups end within a short drive of it. Downtown hotels and the waterfront sit around Princess Street, Market Square and the harbour; Queen's University is a few minutes beyond; the west-end hotels near Highway 401 are closer to the airport than downtown is. For an address outside the city, such as a home in Amherstview, a venue in Prince Edward County or a hotel in Gananoque, enter it in the web booker and it returns a fixed price for that address.
Two things change the drive more than distance. Winter weather along Lake Ontario can slow every road out of the airport, and the chauffeur allows for it without changing your fare. And the LaSalle Causeway, the link to Fort Henry and the east side, has scheduled full closures for marine navigation on select dates, which Visit Kingston publishes; if your hotel or event is across the causeway, the desk checks the dates and plans the route.
After the drop-off: the rest of the trip
Once you are in Kingston, the car can stay useful. An hourly chauffeur from US$110 an hour with a 3-hour minimum covers a day of meetings; the corporate roadshow day from US$990 keeps one chauffeur with a visiting team; and the six-hour Thousand Islands day trip runs from US$610. Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo from Kingston airport to downtown?
From YGK to downtown Kingston, a fixed, all-in Business Sedan is US$95, a Business SUV US$125, a First Class Sedan US$170, a First Class SUV US$155 and an Executive Sprinter US$250. The price includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet, and it is the same from downtown back to the airport.
Where does the driver meet me at YGK?
Inside the terminal with a name board for Landline coach and scheduled arrivals, and at the fixed-base operator's door for private aircraft. The terminal is small, so the car is a short walk from the door. Every pickup is tracked, with complimentary waiting after a tracked arrival.
Do you track the Landline coach?
We track the Air Canada itinerary the coach belongs to, so if your flight into Pearson is delayed and the coach runs later, the pickup moves with it. Give us the Air Canada booking details or flight number when you reserve, and update the desk if you are rebooked.
Is a taxi cheaper than a limo from YGK?
Usually, for one person. Kingston's metered tariff works out to roughly CA$29 in distance charges for the 11 km to downtown, before waiting time, extra passengers and trunk use. A pre-booked car costs more but is fixed, waits for late arrivals and carries families and luggage in one vehicle.
Can you meet a private jet at Kingston airport?
Yes. Send the operator, tail number and estimated arrival time, and say whether the flight is arriving from outside Canada so customs clearance can be allowed for. The chauffeur meets you at the FBO and drives you downtown, to Queen's, or onward to Ottawa or the Thousand Islands.
What time should I be picked up for a Landline departure?
YGK says bag check closes 30 minutes and check-in 20 minutes before departure, with boarding from 15 minutes before. From downtown, we suggest a pickup that reaches the terminal at least 45 minutes before the coach leaves, earlier in snow or on busy days. The desk confirms the time when you book.
