A Hamilton airport limo from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) to downtown Hamilton costs from US$125 in a business sedan to US$325 in an Executive Sprinter on Elly8.net, fixed and all-in, and the same fare applies from downtown to the airport. The drive is about 21 km (13 mi), roughly 29 minutes on a clear road down from the Mountain, and a round trip booked together runs from US$240 to US$620.
Rides in Hamilton are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Below is exactly how a pickup works at YHM, how waiting is handled, and when the taxi, the bus or a friend in the parking lot is the better choice.
How does a Hamilton airport limo pickup work?
Add your flight number when you book. The desk tracks the flight, your chauffeur waits inside the YHM arrivals area with a name board, and you have complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. If the flight lands early or late, the pickup moves with it, and the flat fare does not change.
YHM is a compact, single-terminal airport, which makes the meeting simple. The airport's FAQ says it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so late arrivals are routine, and the walk from the aircraft to the arrivals area is short compared with a large hub.
A YHM arrival, step by step
1. Booking. Enter YHM as the pickup, your Hamilton address as the drop-off, and the flight number. Choose the vehicle by passengers and bags. Confirmation arrives by email, and the chauffeur's details follow before the flight.
2. Tracking. On the day, the desk watches the flight. A delay out of Calgary or a strong tailwind from Halifax changes the pickup time automatically; you do not need to call.
3. Landing. Domestic arrivals walk straight to baggage claim. If you are arriving from the United States, Mexico or the Caribbean, you clear border services first. The airport's airline page lists Porter Airlines with a network across Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, and WestJet with year-round Calgary service and seasonal sun flights.
4. The meet. Your chauffeur is inside the arrivals area with a name board. Car rental counters sit in the same area next to the exit, and the taxi and rideshare zones are just outside, so the arrivals hall is where everyone heads.
5. To the car. The chauffeur walks you out to the vehicle. Most downtown drop-offs are about half an hour later on a clear road; in winter, the escarpment access roads down from the Mountain can be slower, and the chauffeur picks the route on the day.
For comparison, the airport's ground transportation page puts taxi pick-up and drop-off directly outside the arrivals doors along the curb, and rideshare pick-up at the west end of the sidewalk, after the taxi zone. It also notes that shuttles and limousines are not regularly scheduled and must be pre-arranged, which is what a booking does.
Wait times: what is included
Waiting is the part of an airport ride that worries people most, so here is the policy in plain terms. Your fare includes complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. Because the clock follows the actual landing time, not the schedule, a late flight costs nothing extra, and neither does a normal wait at the carousel or at border services.
Waiting well beyond the included time, such as a long lost-baggage claim, is billed at cost. Tolls and parking are also billed at cost. Everything else, the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, the standard gratuity and the meet and greet, is in the fixed price.
On the departures side, the chauffeur drops you at the departures curb. From downtown Hamilton, leaving about 1 hour and 45 minutes before a domestic flight is comfortable on most days; for international flights, allow more and check your airline's check-in cut-off, which the YHM FAQ points to.

Flat rate or meter? The honest comparison
Hamilton taxis are licensed by the City and regulated by Schedule 25 of the Licensing By-law 07-170. The office consolidation of that by-law, revised November 2023, sets the meter at C$4.90 for the first 71.4 metres, then C$0.10 for each additional 55.6 metres, which it describes as C$1.80 a kilometre. Waiting under engagement is C$0.10 for every 11 seconds, a non-accessible van on request adds C$10 per trip, and the rates include HST.
By our arithmetic, the 21 km from YHM to downtown comes to about C$43 on the meter with no waiting, before a tip. That is clearly cheaper than a booked sedan for one or two people with light bags, and we say so. The HSR A-Line Express (Route 20) is cheaper still: according to the City's HSR fare table, a cash fare is C$3.75 and an adult PRESTO ride is C$2.85.
| Option, YHM to downtown | Price | Where it meets you | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| HSR A-Line Express (Route 20) | C$3.75 cash, C$2.85 PRESTO | bus stop | solo, light bag, daytime |
| Taxi from the curb | meter, about C$43 by our arithmetic | outside arrivals | one or two people, walk-up |
| Rideshare | shown in the app, varies with demand | west end of the sidewalk | flexible, off-peak |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$125, fixed and all-in | inside arrivals, name board | late flights, fixed budget |
| Elly8.net business SUV | US$165 | inside arrivals | families, golf or ski bags |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$325 for up to 12 | inside arrivals | teams, wedding guests |
Note the currencies: the meter and the bus are in Canadian dollars, Elly8.net prices are in US dollars. Where the flat rate pays for itself is in the situations the meter cannot fix: the 1 a.m. landing when you want someone waiting, a family that needs child seats fitted in advance (available on request), a group of eight who want one vehicle, and a business traveller who needs the number on a receipt before the trip. Shared by twelve, a US$325 Sprinter is about US$27 a person, but that is arithmetic for comparison; the price is per vehicle. Our Hamilton taxi vs Uber vs private car guide runs the same exercise for trips across the city, and chauffeur vs taxi covers the general case.
When a friend in the parking lot is the better answer
If someone you know is collecting you, YHM makes it easy. The airport's parking page describes a single surface lot directly across from the terminal, with drive-up rates of C$5.00 for up to 30 minutes, an hourly maximum of C$10.00 and a daily maximum of C$33.00, paid by debit or credit only. For a straightforward daytime arrival, that is hard to beat.
The flat-rate car makes sense when nobody is free at midnight, when the person collecting you would have to drive in from Burlington or Toronto, or when the group is too big for one family car.
Which vehicle fits your bags
Luggage is where airport bookings go wrong. These are the capacities from our fleet page, passengers and large bags:
- Business sedan: 3 passengers, 2 bags. One or two travellers with a case each.
- First class sedan: 3 passengers, 2 bags. The same space with an S-Class-level cabin; US$220 from YHM.
- Business SUV: 6 passengers, 6 bags. A family of four with checked luggage, or two golfers with clubs.
- First class SUV: 6 passengers, 6 bags; US$200 from YHM.
- Executive Sprinter: 12 passengers, 12 bags. Sports teams, wedding guests and corporate groups.
If you are travelling with skis, a bike box or several oversized cases, choose the next size up and tell us in the notes. A sedan with two large cases and a carry-on is full.
YHM or Pearson for a Hamilton trip?
Many Hamilton travellers have a choice. YHM is about 21 km from downtown and priced from US$125; Toronto Pearson (YYZ) is about 60 km (37 mi), roughly 53 minutes on a clear road, and priced from US$215 in a business sedan to US$560 in an Executive Sprinter. If your airline flies from Hamilton, YHM usually saves time door to door. If you need Pearson's wider network, the airport also lists Air Canada Landline, a motorcoach connection between YHM and Pearson on a single Air Canada itinerary.
For Pearson trips, our Toronto to Hamilton by private car guide covers the highway timing, and the Hamilton car service page lists every fixed fare in its fares panel. Heading somewhere other than downtown? The web booker prices YHM to Burlington, Ancaster, Niagara or Mississauga. The Fallsview hotel district is about 90 km (56 mi) from YHM; fares from the Falls side are on our Niagara Falls car service page, and Pearson-side fares are on the Mississauga car service page.
Sports teams, wedding guests and other groups
YHM is a practical airport for group travel: sports teams, wedding guests flying in for a weekend, and corporate groups visiting the city's industrial and health-sciences employers. For groups, the Executive Sprinter is the workhorse, carrying up to twelve with twelve bags for US$325 from YHM to downtown. Larger groups can book two Sprinters, each with the same flight number, so both vehicles are tracked against the same arrival. Our Hamilton wedding limo guide covers guest arrivals for a wedding weekend.
Business travel through YHM
Hamilton's business trips often begin at YHM and end at a plant along the bay, a hospital campus or a meeting in Burlington. A flat-rate airport transfer can be combined with hourly service, from US$110 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, or a corporate roadshow day from US$990. Companies booking regularly can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing and NDAs on request. More on how pickups work across the network is on our airport transfers and meet and greet pages; if you are weighing a shared shuttle, see chauffeur vs airport shuttle.

How long will the chauffeur wait if my flight is late?

Usually, for one or two people. By our arithmetic from the City's meter rate, YHM to downtown is about C$43 before waiting and a tip, while a booked sedan is US$125. A booked car is worth it for late flights, families needing child seats, groups and fixed business budgets.
