Getting from MCO to Disney by car means a drive of about 19 to 25 miles (30 to 40 km), roughly 30 to 40 minutes on a clear road depending on the resort. Disney Springs is the nearest of the big areas at about 19 miles (30 km); the Epcot-area and value resorts are around 21 to 23 miles; and the Magic Kingdom resorts, such as the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian, are about 25 miles (40 km). The drive is easy. The arrival, with children, car seats and a week of luggage, is the part to plan.
A pre-booked Elly8.net car takes the arrival off your hands: the chauffeur tracks the flight, waits inside arrivals with a name board, fits the child seats you asked for and drives straight to your resort's entrance, at a price fixed before you fly. Rides in Orlando are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How long is the drive from MCO to Disney World?
On a clear road, Orlando International (MCO) to Disney Springs is about 19 miles (30 km) and 32 minutes; to the Epcot-area resorts about 21 miles and 35 to 40 minutes; and to the Magic Kingdom resorts about 25 miles (40 km) and 40 minutes. Afternoon traffic and storms can add time.
The distances below are routed road distances from the airport to each area on a clear road. Disney's resort hotels are spread across a large area southwest of the airport, so the exact resort matters more than the words "Disney World" on a booking.

Where your driver meets you at MCO
MCO has three passenger terminals: A and B in the original terminal building, and the newer Terminal C. Pickup arrangements differ between them, which is the single most useful reason to tell us your airline when you book.
With Elly8.net meet and greet, you do not need to find a curb. The chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area of your terminal with a name board, helps with the bags at baggage claim and walks you to the vehicle. Because the flight is tracked, an early or late landing simply moves the pickup, and you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, which matters when a family's bags are the last off the carousel. Our airport meet and greet page explains the hand-off step by step.
For comparison, the airport's own rules for other options:
- Ride share. According to MCO's ride share page, app rides pick up on the Arrivals Curb (Level 2) at Terminals A and B, and on the Arrivals Curb (Level 6) at Terminal C.
- Taxis. The taxi page places taxis on the Ground Transportation Curb (Level 1) at Terminals A and B, and on the Arrivals Curb (Level 6) at Terminal C.
- Shuttle vans. Per the airport's shuttle van page, shuttle vans load on the Ground Transportation Curb (Level 1) of each terminal, and fares are charged per person.
Fixed price or meter: what "flat rate" means at MCO
Many travellers search for a flat rate from MCO to Disney. The airport is clear about taxis: its taxi page says cabs picking up at the airport are regulated by the City of Orlando's vehicle-for-hire ordinance, fares are set by the taximeter, and flat-rate fees are not authorized. So a taxi fare depends on the route and the traffic on the day.
An Elly8.net booking is fixed in a different way: the price is set when you book, for your exact pickup and resort, and that is the amount you pay. It includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. Our published Orlando reference route is MCO to International Drive, from US$155 in a Business Sedan, US$205 in a Business SUV, US$250 in a First Class SUV, US$275 in a First Class Sedan and US$405 in an Executive Sprinter. Disney resorts are separate addresses farther southwest, so enter the exact resort in the web booker and it shows the fixed, all-in price before you pay.
Taxi, shuttle, bus, app ride or a booked car
The airport publishes approximate rates for each option to the Disney resorts area on its ground transportation page. Here they are next to the other options.
| Option | Approximate cost to Disney resorts | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local bus (LYNX) | about US$4 per person | scheduled bus with stops and transfers | budget travellers with light bags |
| Shared shuttle van | from about US$23 per person | shared van, stops at several hotels | one or two travellers, no time pressure |
| Taxi | about US$52 to US$68, metered | taxi stand, up to 9 passengers at the same rate | small groups who are happy to queue |
| App ride (Uber, Lyft) | set by the app at request | Arrivals curb pickup | flexible travellers, light bags |
| Elly8.net Business SUV | fixed in the web booker before you pay | chauffeur inside arrivals, child seats on request | families of up to 6 with luggage |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | fixed in the web booker before you pay | one vehicle for up to 12 with 12 bags | two families, groups, conference teams |
The airport's taxi page adds that taxis may carry up to 9 passengers and charge the same rate regardless of the number of passengers, which makes a taxi good value for a group that fits in one cab and does not need child seats. For a single traveller, the bus or a shared shuttle van is the cheapest way to reach a resort, at the cost of time and stops at other hotels.
The pre-booked car wins in specific situations: when you need child seats fitted and ready, when the flight lands late in the evening, when a family of five or six has more bags than a sedan holds, when two families want to travel together, or when a fixed budget matters more than the lowest possible fare. Our comparisons of chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs shared airport shuttle go into the trade-offs in general.
Choosing the vehicle for a Disney family
Luggage is what decides the vehicle on a Disney trip, more than the number of people.
- Business Sedan: up to 3 passengers and 2 bags. A couple, or one parent with one child and light luggage.
- Business SUV: up to 6 passengers and 6 bags. The usual Disney choice for a family of four or five with suitcases, a stroller and child seats.
- First Class SUV: up to 6 passengers and 6 bags, with a more refined cabin.
- Executive Sprinter: up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. Two families or a multi-generation group with grandparents, all arriving together.
Child seats are available on request. Tell us the number of children and each child's age or seat type when you book, and the seats are fitted before the chauffeur meets you. This is one of the most common requests on Orlando bookings, and it is the main reason parents choose a pre-booked car over carrying seats through the terminal. The fleet page lists every vehicle class.
Give us the exact resort name
Disney's resort hotels each have their own entrance and driveway, and several have similar names. Put the full resort name in the booking, not "Disney World", and the chauffeur drives to the right lobby. The same applies to vacation homes and villas in the surrounding areas: give the full address.
If you want a stop on the way, for example a supermarket for snacks and water before checking in, book a multi-stop transfer and add the stop in the notes, so the time is planned rather than improvised.
The return trip: Disney to MCO
Going back, plan around check-in and security rather than the drive. On a clear road the trip is 30 to 40 minutes, but traffic on the main routes toward the airport can slow in the afternoon, and summer storms can arrive quickly. Give us your flight time and we suggest a pickup time with a sensible buffer. A round trip booked together covers both ends of the holiday; for reference, the MCO to International Drive round trip is published at US$295 in a Business Sedan up to US$770 in an Executive Sprinter, and the booker prices your resort round trip exactly.
Beyond Disney: Universal, the coast and the cruise port
Most Orlando holidays include more than one place. An hourly chauffeur in Orlando costs from US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan to US$190 in an Executive Sprinter, with a three-hour minimum, which suits a dinner at Disney Springs or a day hopping between resorts. The signature day trip is the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, an eight-hour package from US$700 in a Business Sedan to US$1,400 in an Executive Sprinter. Many families end the trip at Port Canaveral; our cruise port transfers page explains how that route is priced. Full details of both Orlando airports are on our Orlando car service page and the airport transfers service page.
If Orlando is one stop on a longer Florida trip, we also have fixed-price pages for Tampa, Palm Beach and Miami.
Travelling for a conference at a Disney resort
Several Disney resort hotels host large conferences, and attendees often land at MCO in waves. Companies that send many travellers set up a corporate account with monthly invoicing; our guide to corporate car service, written for Boston programmes, explains how the same account, policy fares and saved traveller profiles work in every city we serve. For a line-by-line guide to comparing any car service quote, see our breakdown of limo rental prices; the same questions apply in Orlando.
