A Victoria limo bus booked through Elly8.net comes in four group sizes: a stretch limousine for up to 8 passengers, a party bus for up to 12, a stretch SUV limousine for up to 16, and the 12-seat Executive Sprinter, which also carries 12 bags. The Sprinter has a fixed Victoria price of US$220 an hour with a 3-hour minimum; the party bus and stretch vehicles are priced in the web booker for your date, route and hours.
In British Columbia, limousines and party buses are licensed by the Passenger Transportation Board, and the Board has a specific rule that matters for grads: a perimeter-seating bus carrying unaccompanied minors must have a trained safety monitor on board. Below is how to choose the vehicle, count the hours, set a budget and avoid the surprises that spoil a big day.
What size limo bus do you need in Victoria?
Count the most people who ride together at once. Up to 8, a stretch limousine; up to 12, a party bus or an Executive Sprinter (US$220 an hour in Victoria, 3-hour minimum); up to 16, a stretch SUV limousine. Larger groups book two vehicles on one reservation, for example a stretch SUV and a Sprinter for up to 28.
The busiest moment is usually the first leg: the ride from the hotel to the ceremony, or from the first house to the grad dinner. Leave a seat or two spare for a photographer, gowns and gifts. The fleet page lists seats and luggage space for every class.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Victoria uses | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stretch limousine | up to 8 | small | Couples' car, small grad groups, anniversaries | Web booker, your date and hours |
| Party bus | up to 12 | small | Bachelor and bachelorette nights, birthdays | Web booker, your date and hours |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 bags | Wedding guests from the ferry, wine and cidery days, cruise groups | Fixed: US$220 per hour, 3-hour minimum |
| Stretch SUV limousine | up to 16 | small | Large wedding parties, big celebrations | Web booker, your date and hours |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 bags | Parents, a second car, the airport run | Fixed: US$140 per hour, 3-hour minimum |

Party bus, stretch or Sprinter: which suits Victoria?
The Executive Sprinter is the most practical big vehicle on Vancouver Island. Forward-facing seats, a high roof and room for twelve bags mean it can collect guests at Swartz Bay or the airport, take them to a peninsula venue, and run the evening, all in one booking. It is also the right vehicle for tasting days: winery and cidery visits are about seats, not dance floors. Because it is on the fixed price list, you know the number before you contact anyone.
The party bus suits a night where the vehicle is part of the fun: perimeter seating, lighting and sound. It has little luggage space, so it is a poor choice for an airport run, and it is the vehicle type covered by B.C.'s safety-monitor rule when minors are aboard.
Stretch limousines and stretch SUVs give the classic arrival photo at a church, a harbour hotel or a garden venue. Our comparison of black car vs limousine covers when the stretch look is worth it and when a First Class Sedan does the job with less fuss on narrow downtown streets.
The B.C. rules worth knowing
Rules from the Passenger Transportation Board shape any Victoria group booking.
Licensing. Limousines, shuttle vans and party buses operate under Board authorizations, and the Board publishes a limousine licensee list. Rides in Victoria are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
Safety monitors for minors. The Board's perimeter seating bus rule applies to vehicles with perimeter seating for 12 or more passengers, such as limos, party buses and stretch SUVs. If unaccompanied minors are on board, and a minor in B.C. is anyone under 19, a safety monitor must be present. The monitor must be at least 25, trained, background-checked, retained by the licensee and not the driver, and legal guardians must give consent. For a high school grad group, tell the desk the ages when you book so the operator can plan for it, or choose a forward-facing Executive Sprinter.
Hourly rate rules. The Board also sets hourly rate rules for limousines by vehicle type, including a minimum of C$175 an hour, before GST, for limo buses with 17 or more seats, under Rule 19. Any quote below the legal minimum for its vehicle class is a warning sign.
Alcohol. Laws on alcohol in vehicles are strict and specific. The chauffeur follows local rules, and our bookings do not include drinking in the vehicle. Plan the toasts at the venue.
How many hours to book
Victoria groups often underestimate time because the city is small. The distances are short, but the island adds ferry timetables, garden walks and peninsula roads. Count from the first pickup to the last drop-off, not from the ceremony to the reception:
- A wedding day with photos at the Inner Harbour or Beacon Hill Park and a reception on the peninsula usually needs five to seven hours for the couple's car and a shorter block for the guest shuttle.
- A grad night with a dinner, a dance venue and drop-offs at several homes is often four to five hours.
- A tasting day on the Saanich Peninsula is typically four to six hours. The Cowichan Valley is about 62 km (39 mi) from the Inner Harbour by routing data, around an hour each way on a clear road, so allow a full day.
- A night out downtown usually fits the 3-hour minimum, or the evening out and event night package.
Book an extra hour rather than extending at midnight. Time beyond the booked block is billed at cost, and an operator can plan a six-hour job more easily than an unplanned extension.
What a Victoria limo bus costs
Every Elly8.net price is in US dollars, fixed, all-in and per vehicle, including the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
| Booking | Executive Sprinter (12 seats) | Business SUV (6 seats) | First Class Sedan (3 seats) |
|---|---|---|---|
| By the hour, 3-hour minimum | US$220 per hour | US$140 per hour | US$180 per hour |
| 3 hours | US$660 | US$420 | US$540 |
| Evening out and event night | US$1,100 | US$700 | US$900 |
| Butchart Gardens, 4 hours | US$810 | US$520 | US$665 |
| Full-day chauffeur | US$1,620 | US$1,035 | US$1,325 |
| YYJ to the Inner Harbour, one way | US$380 | US$190 | US$255 |
The 3-hour line is simply the hourly rate multiplied by the minimum. Party buses, stretch limousines and stretch SUVs are priced in the web booker for your exact date and hours, because Saturday nights in June cost more than a Tuesday afternoon in March.
For a group of twelve in the Sprinter, a three-hour evening at US$660 works out to US$55 a head. That division is arithmetic for comparison only; the booking is always charged per vehicle. Compare it with taxis: twelve people need at least three cabs, each running its own meter at the regional rate described in our Victoria taxi guide, and nobody arrives together.
Victoria occasions that fill the calendar
Weddings. Harbour hotels, estates on the peninsula and garden venues are popular, and the Butchart Gardens hosts weddings too. Guests often arrive by ferry or floatplane on the day, so a Sprinter shuttle that collects them at Swartz Bay or the Inner Harbour solves the logistics. A First Class Sedan or stretch limousine for the couple, plus a Sprinter for guests, is the common plan; see wedding limousine and guest shuttles.
Grads. Spring grad season brings dinners, photos and dances on fixed schedules. Parents tend to prefer a set pickup list, a firm return time and a forward-facing vehicle; see prom and graduation limousines, and remember the safety-monitor rule for perimeter-seating buses with under-19s aboard.
Tasting days and the gardens. A Sprinter carries a group to peninsula wineries and cideries with appointments booked in advance, or to the Butchart Gardens on the 4-hour package. Our Victoria to Butchart Gardens guide covers timing; see also wine tours by chauffeured car.
Conferences and cruise groups. Delegations at the Victoria Conference Centre and passengers on shore days from Ogden Point use Sprinters for group dinners and tours. See group transportation and cruise port transfers.
Questions to ask before you sign
Whoever you book with, settle these in writing:
- Which exact vehicle class and seat count? "Limo bus" can mean anything from an 8-seat stretch to a coach.
- When does the clock start and stop? Ask whether the time is counted from your first pickup or from when the vehicle leaves its base.
- What is included? On Elly8.net, the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity are included; ask any other operator whether gratuity, fuel or cleaning fees are extra.
- Is the operator licensed? In B.C., check the Board's limousine licensee list.
- Are there minors aboard? If so, ask how the operator meets the safety-monitor rule, or choose forward-facing seating.
- What are the cancellation terms? Elly8.net: free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card.
- What if the ferry is late? For guests arriving by sea, give the desk the sailing and the pickup moves with it.
A simple planning timeline
- Three to six months out: for a summer Saturday wedding, choose the vehicles and hold the date.
- Six to eight weeks out: confirm the guest count, the route and the ferry or flight arrivals.
- Two weeks out: send the final pickup list, addresses and any child-seat or accessibility needs.
- Two days out: confirm the timeline with the desk and share the chauffeur's contact details with the best man or the parent in charge.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo bus in Victoria?
The fixed option is the 12-seat Executive Sprinter at US$220 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, so US$660 for three hours, all-in per vehicle. The evening out package is US$1,100 in a Sprinter. Party buses, stretch limousines and stretch SUVs are priced in the web booker for your date and hours.
How many people fit in a Victoria limo bus?
Through Elly8.net, a stretch limousine seats up to 8, a party bus up to 12, an Executive Sprinter up to 12 with 12 bags, and a stretch SUV limousine up to 16. Larger groups book two vehicles together, for example a stretch SUV and a Sprinter for up to 28.
Can high school grads ride in a party bus in B.C.?
Yes, with conditions. Under the Passenger Transportation Board's rule, a perimeter-seating bus for 12 or more carrying unaccompanied minors under 19 must have a safety monitor aged 25 or older, trained and background-checked, and guardians must consent. Tell the desk the ages when you book.
Can we drink on a limo bus in Victoria?
The chauffeur follows local rules on alcohol, and Elly8.net bookings do not include drinking in the vehicle. Plan toasts and tastings at the venue or winery. If you are visiting wineries, a forward-facing Sprinter with appointments booked in advance works best.
Can the limo bus meet wedding guests at the ferry?
Yes. Give the desk the BC Ferries sailing and the number of guests, and an Executive Sprinter meets them at Swartz Bay and takes them to the venue or hotel. Swartz Bay pickups are quoted in the web booker and timed to the scheduled arrival.
How far ahead should we book?
For a summer Saturday wedding or a grad weekend, book three to six months ahead to secure the vehicle class you want. Weekday tasting days and smaller groups can often be booked a few weeks out. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup.
