San Antonio weddings tend to take one of three shapes. Some stay on the River Walk, with the ceremony, photos and reception a short walk apart. Some start at a historic downtown church and move to a reception across town. And many leave the city altogether for a ranch or winery venue in the Texas Hill Country. Each shape needs a different number of cars, and getting the count right is most of the work.
The fixed Elly8.net San Antonio rates make the arithmetic straightforward: by the hour, a business sedan is US$95, a First Class sedan US$155, a business SUV US$120 and an Executive Sprinter US$190, each with a 3-hour minimum and priced per vehicle. Below is the counting method, three worked examples and a calendar for when to book.
How many cars do you need for a San Antonio wedding?
Most San Antonio weddings need one car for the couple, one vehicle for the wedding party, and guest shuttles only when the ceremony, reception and hotel block are not within walking distance. A River Walk wedding may need just one car; a Hill Country wedding with a downtown hotel block usually needs two or three Sprinters.
The question to ask is not "who wants a limo" but "who has to be somewhere at a fixed time, and how far is it". The couple, the wedding party and older relatives are the people whose timing matters. Guests matter when the distance is too far to walk and the drive is too long, or too late, to leave to their own cars or apps.
The counting method, step by step
1. The couple. One car, from getting ready to the ceremony, then to photos and the reception, and often a getaway at the end. A First Class sedan seats up to three; a stretch limousine seats up to eight and is quoted in the web booker if you want the classic look for photos.
2. The wedding party. Count bridesmaids, groomsmen, the flower girl and ring bearer with a parent, and anyone else who must arrive before the ceremony. Up to six fits a business SUV; seven to twelve fits an Executive Sprinter, which also has room for dresses, bouquets and bags.
3. Parents and grandparents. Often overlooked. A separate business SUV for parents and older relatives, especially anyone who uses a walker or struggles with heat, takes pressure off everyone.
4. Guests. Estimate how many are staying at the hotel block and will not drive. Each Executive Sprinter seats up to 12. Divide the guest count by 12, then decide whether one vehicle can run loops or whether you need several at once.
5. Loops or one wave. A Sprinter can run two or three loops if the hotel and venue are close, as they are downtown. For a Hill Country venue, loops take too long, so guests travel in one wave and one more wave home.
The fleet page lists seats and bags for every class, and our wedding limousine page explains how the desk builds the day's run sheet.

Three San Antonio weddings, counted and costed
A River Walk hotel wedding
Ceremony in a hotel courtyard, photos along the river, reception in the hotel ballroom, guests staying in the same building or a block away. Guests walk, so no shuttle is needed. The couple might still book a First Class sedan for three hours (US$465) for a photo tour to the Alamo, the missions and back. Many River Walk hotels have a street entrance and a river entrance, so agree with the hotel which door the car uses.
A downtown church with a reception at the Pearl
Ceremony at a downtown church, photos, then dinner and dancing in the Pearl district at the north end of the river, with the hotel block downtown. The count: a First Class sedan for the couple for 5 hours (US$775), an Executive Sprinter for 10 wedding party members for 5 hours (US$950), and one more Sprinter for guests running loops between the hotels, the church and the Pearl for 6 hours (US$1,140). Total for three vehicles: US$2,865, all-in.
A Hill Country venue with a downtown hotel block
Ceremony and reception at a ranch or winery outside the city, 80 guests, 40 of them staying downtown. The count: the couple's car, a Sprinter for the wedding party, and four Sprinters for 40 guests in one wave out and one wave home. A Full-day chauffeur package, 8 hours, is US$1,400 per Executive Sprinter and US$1,145 for a First Class sedan; for a long day with a late finish, book hourly beyond the package. Country roads, gravel drives and gate codes all need to be on the run sheet.
| Wedding shape | Couple | Wedding party | Guests | Indicative all-in total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| River Walk hotel | First Class sedan, 3 hours, US$465 | walks | walk | US$465 |
| Downtown church and Pearl reception | First Class sedan, 5 hours, US$775 | Executive Sprinter, 5 hours, US$950 | One Sprinter on loops, 6 hours, US$1,140 | US$2,865 |
| Hill Country venue, 40 guests from downtown | First Class sedan, full day, US$1,145 | Executive Sprinter, full day, US$1,400 | Four Sprinters, full day, US$5,600 | US$8,145 |
Every figure is per vehicle and includes the chauffeur, taxes and a standard gratuity. Tolls and parking are billed at cost, as is time beyond the booked hours. Arithmetic for comparison only: in the Hill Country example, the four guest Sprinters work out at US$140 per guest for the whole day, which is often less than the cost of guests driving out, parking and finding a safe way home.
Out-of-town guests and SAT arrivals
Destination weddings bring family in through San Antonio International. A fixed transfer from SAT to the River Walk is US$150 in a business sedan, US$195 in a business SUV and US$390 in an Executive Sprinter, the same price for the drive back to the airport after the wedding. The chauffeur tracks each flight and meets guests inside at baggage claim, so nobody has to coordinate cars at the curb. Our airport transfers page explains how pickups work.
Guests who prefer to arrange their own ride should know the cheaper options too. The airport publishes taxi fares to downtown starting at US$24 to US$29 per cab, and the VIA bus is US$1.30; our San Antonio taxi guide has the details. Put both options on the wedding website and let guests choose.
Photos at the missions and around downtown
The four Spanish colonial missions south of downtown are part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Texas, and they make striking backdrops. The park publishes its own rules on photography and filming permits, so check the requirements before you plan a photo stop, and allow for the drive between the missions and the reception.
Downtown, the Alamo and the river barges are popular, but crowds and parking are real constraints. A car booked by the hour waits nearby while you shoot, and the chauffeur can move the couple between locations without anyone hunting for a space. The Visit San Antonio site is useful for checking what else is happening in the city on your date.
When to book: a San Antonio wedding calendar
As soon as the date and venues are fixed. Reserve the couple's car and the wedding party vehicle. Spring and autumn Saturdays are the busiest, and stretch limousines and classic cars go first. Because cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, an early booking carries no cost if plans change well ahead.
Check the city calendar. Fiesta San Antonio runs April 15 to 25, 2027, with parades that close downtown streets for hours and hotels that fill early. A wedding during Fiesta needs routes planned around the parade closures and earlier bookings for every vehicle. Large conventions at the Henry B. González Convention Center also fill downtown hotels.
Two months out. Count guests on shuttles from the RSVPs and add or remove Sprinters. Confirm the hotel block addresses and each venue's arrival and loading rules.
Two weeks out. Send the final run sheet: every pickup, every stop with a time, names and phone numbers of the couple's contact and the wedding planner, and the getaway plan.
The day before. The desk confirms the chauffeurs and vehicles. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, and seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.
Heat, dresses and practical details
San Antonio summers are hot, and a long gown, a suit jacket and an outdoor photo session add up. Ask for the vehicle to be cooled before pickup, keep water in the plan, and build shade into the photo route. For dresses with long trains, an SUV or Sprinter is easier to get into than a low sedan.
Alcohol is a common question. The chauffeur follows local rules, and rules differ by vehicle type and licence, so plan any toast for the venue rather than the car. Seat belts are required for everyone, including the wedding party; TxDOT has the details.
What to get in writing
Ask for each vehicle's class and seats, the start and end time, every address, the per-vehicle all-in price, how extra time is charged, and the cancellation terms. Elly8.net confirms all of that by email: free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card.
Rides in San Antonio are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. The full fare panel is on the San Antonio car service page, and for the after-party or a bachelorette night, our San Antonio party bus guide covers group vehicles. Guest shuttles for larger weddings are also covered under group transportation and Sprinter van with driver; hourly rules are on car service by the hour.
Elly8.net is a member of LimousineWorldwide.Directory, LimousineAssociation.International, HotelsWorldwide.Directory and VacationsWorldwide.Directory. Guests can book flights and hotels through our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the cars.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a wedding limo in San Antonio?
On the fixed price list, a First Class sedan is US$155 an hour and an Executive Sprinter US$190 an hour, each with a 3-hour minimum, per vehicle, including the chauffeur, taxes and a standard gratuity. An 8-hour Full-day chauffeur is US$1,145 in a First Class sedan. Stretch limousines and classic cars are quoted in the web booker.
How far ahead should we book wedding cars?
As soon as the date and venues are fixed, especially for spring and autumn Saturdays and any date during Fiesta, April 15 to 25, 2027. Confirm guest shuttle numbers about two months out and send the final run sheet two weeks before. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup.
Do we need guest shuttles for a River Walk wedding?
Usually not, if the ceremony, reception and hotel block are within a few blocks of each other. Shuttles matter when the venue is across town or out in the Hill Country, or when many guests are older or staying at several hotels. One Executive Sprinter seats up to 12 guests.
Can the car wait during the ceremony and photos?
Yes. Hourly and package bookings keep the chauffeur and vehicle with you, so the car waits at the church and moves you between photo locations. Agree a pickup point in advance at busy spots such as the Alamo, and check permit rules if you plan photos at the missions.
Can you collect wedding guests from SAT?
Yes. A fixed transfer from SAT to the River Walk is US$150 in a business sedan, US$195 in a business SUV and US$390 in an Executive Sprinter, the same price back to the airport. The chauffeur tracks the flight and meets guests inside at baggage claim with a name board.
What happens if the reception runs late?
Extra time is billed by the hour at the vehicle's rate. Tell the chauffeur or the 24/7 desk as soon as you know, so the guest shuttles and the getaway car can be extended together. Building an extra hour into the original booking is usually the calmer option.
