A Reno airport car service with Elly8.net is a pre-booked, fixed-price car from Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) with a chauffeur who tracks your flight and meets you inside the terminal. The published route on our price list is RNO to South Lake Tahoe, from US$385 in a Business Sedan to US$1,005 in an Executive Sprinter, and any other address, from a Reno hotel to a cabin in Truckee or a home in Incline Village, is quoted as a fixed price in the web booker.
RNO is a compact airport, which makes it easy to use and easy to get wrong in small ways: the wrong vehicle for the ski bags, the wrong door, a missing gate code at the rental. These tips come from the questions travellers ask most. Rides in Lake Tahoe are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
What does a Reno airport car service cost?
From Reno-Tahoe International to South Lake Tahoe, an Elly8.net car costs US$385 in a Business Sedan up to US$1,005 in an Executive Sprinter, round trip from US$735. Other addresses, including Reno, Truckee and the North Shore, are quoted as fixed, all-in prices in the web booker. Prices are per vehicle.
Each fare includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. The fixed fares are on the Lake Tahoe price panel, and the web booker prices every other route before you pay. Fares are the same in either direction, to or from the airport.

How meet-and-greet works at RNO
Meet-and-greet means the chauffeur comes into the terminal for you rather than waiting outside. At RNO it works like this:
- The flight is tracked. The chauffeur works to your actual landing time.
- You are met inside. The chauffeur waits with a name board, usually at baggage claim, where almost every Tahoe traveller has checked bags.
- Bags first. The chauffeur waits with you at the belt and helps with ski bags and suitcases.
- Out through Door D. According to the airport's ground transportation page, all commercial pickups, including pre-arranged cars, taxis and shuttles, are outside baggage claim Door D in the ground transportation loop. You walk out together to the car.
Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, so a delayed connection does not change the fixed fare within the included time. Waiting beyond that is billed at cost, and the desk tells you before it applies. Our airport meet and greet page explains why this matters most when you are tired, carrying gear or travelling with children.
Luggage: the part that decides the vehicle
Reno arrivals carry more than most. Count everything, not just the suitcases.
| What you are carrying | Vehicle to book | Passengers and standard bags |
|---|---|---|
| Two people, carry-ons or two suitcases | Business Sedan or First Class Sedan | up to 3 and 2 |
| Two to four people with ski or snowboard bags | Business SUV or First Class SUV | up to 6 and 6 |
| Golf bags for three or four players | Business SUV or First Class SUV | up to 6 and 6 |
| Family with strollers and car seats | First Class SUV or Business SUV | up to 6 and 6 |
| Ski group, wedding party or team | Executive Sprinter | up to 12 and 12 |
Ski bags and golf bags are long, so they take more room than their count suggests. When you book, list them separately from suitcases and boot bags, and include anything unusual: snowboards in soft bags, bicycles in boxes, wheelchairs, pet carriers. If the gear is heavy, the desk may suggest the next size up so nothing has to ride on a lap. See the fleet for each class, and Sprinter van with driver for groups.
Where Reno arrivals go
RNO serves three quite different kinds of trip, and each has a different drive:
- Reno itself. The airport describes itself as within 15 minutes of the major hotels in the area. Downtown casino resorts, the riverfront and the business districts are short trips, quoted in the web booker.
- South Lake Tahoe and Stateline. About 58 mi (93 km), around 83 minutes on a clear road, on the published price list from US$385. Our Reno airport to Lake Tahoe guide follows that drive step by step.
- The North Shore and Truckee. Incline Village is about 32 mi (52 km), around 53 minutes on a clear road; Northstar about 43 mi (69 km) and 57 minutes; Palisades Tahoe about 49 mi (78 km) and 65 minutes. These are quoted in the web booker.
In winter, the mountain routes have chain controls, published by Caltrans on its chain controls page for the California side and by NDOT on nvroads.com for Nevada. Book an SUV or the Sprinter, and leave the chains to the chauffeur.
Booking tips that save trouble at RNO
- Book once you have the flight. Holiday weeks and powder weekends fill early, and larger vehicles go first.
- Give the exact address. "Incline Village" is not enough for a rental on a steep lane. Add the house number, gate codes and anything the chauffeur needs to know about the driveway.
- Add the flight number, not just the time. Tracking depends on it, and it is how the chauffeur knows you landed early or late.
- Count ski bags separately. It is the most common reason the wrong vehicle turns up.
- Request child seats with each child's age and weight; they are fitted before pickup.
- Plan the next day too. If you are skiing tomorrow, an hourly chauffeur, from US$100 an hour in a Business Sedan or US$125 in a Business SUV with a three-hour minimum, can cover the resort run. A full-day chauffeur starts at US$740.
- Use one booking for a group. Several vehicles can run on one reservation, with one confirmation and one desk.
Travelling with children or passengers who need extra help
Many Tahoe arrivals are families, and a few details make the first hour easier. Child seats are available on request; give each child's age and weight when you book so the right seats are fitted before pickup, rather than at the kerb. A stroller, a travel cot and ski bags for the whole family will not fit in a sedan, so book a Business SUV or First Class SUV, or the Executive Sprinter for a large family with gear.
For older travellers or anyone using a wheelchair, tell the desk when you book. If you have arranged wheelchair assistance with your airline, the chauffeur meets you and the airline attendant at baggage claim, and a folding wheelchair travels with the luggage. Mention anything that affects the vehicle, such as a passenger who finds a high step difficult, so the desk can assign a vehicle that suits.
A pre-booked car also removes one of the harder moments of a family arrival: standing outside in winter weather with tired children while waiting for a ride to appear. The chauffeur is already inside when you land.
Departures: getting back to RNO
The airport states that commercial drop-offs can be along the outer kerb of the ticketing hall or in the ground transportation loop near Door D. The chauffeur drops you at the right kerb and helps with bags to the door. The fare is the same fixed price as the arrival.
Timing is the key decision. From South Lake Tahoe the clear-road drive is about 83 minutes, but winter storms, chain controls and holiday traffic can add a lot. The desk suggests a pickup time when you book, with a buffer for the season, and watches the road reports on the day.
When something else is the better choice
A pre-booked car is not always the right answer at RNO, and it is fair to say so.
- Casino hotel shuttles. The airport lists complimentary shuttles run by several Reno hotels, including the Atlantis, the Grand Sierra Resort, the Nugget, the Peppermill and The Row. If you are staying at one of them with light luggage, the free shuttle is hard to beat.
- Taxis. Several taxi companies wait outside Door D, and for a short trip to a Reno hotel a metered taxi is quick and reasonable.
- App rides. They pick up at the far end of the ground transportation lot, where there is a weather shelter, and suit short trips within Reno.
- Shared shuttles to the lake. The airport lists a North Shore shuttle that must be booked 24 hours ahead and a South Shore shuttle with a counter near Door B. For one traveller, the per-seat price is the lowest-cost way to the lake.
The pre-booked car wins for the lake in winter, late arrivals, families with gear, groups who want one vehicle and business travellers who need a fixed price and an invoice. Our Reno to Lake Tahoe comparison puts the options side by side, and chauffeur vs taxi covers the general trade-offs.
Business travel and events
Lakeside corporate retreats and conferences often bring a whole team through RNO on the same day. A corporate account puts arrivals, shuttles and departures on one monthly invoice, and a corporate roadshow day, from US$900 in a Business Sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter, covers a full programme with one chauffeur. Summer events at the lake, including the celebrity golf tournament at Edgewood Tahoe usually held in July, fill RNO and the lake roads; book early for those weeks. See conference transportation and group transportation.

Frequently asked questions
Does the chauffeur come inside the terminal at Reno airport?
Yes. The chauffeur meets you inside, usually at baggage claim, with a name board, waits with you for checked bags and walks you out to the car. All commercial pickups at RNO use the ground transportation loop outside baggage claim Door D.
How much is a car service from Reno airport?
The published fare from RNO to South Lake Tahoe is US$385 in a Business Sedan up to US$1,005 in an Executive Sprinter, with round trips from US$735. Reno hotels, Truckee and North Shore addresses are quoted as fixed prices in the web booker. Fares are per vehicle and all-in.
How many ski bags fit in an SUV?
A Business SUV or First Class SUV carries up to 6 passengers and 6 standard bags. Ski and snowboard bags are long, so count them separately from suitcases when you book. For several skiers with full gear, an Executive Sprinter, with room for 12 standard bags, keeps everything in one vehicle.
Is the hotel shuttle better for a Reno casino stay?
Often, yes. The airport lists free shuttles run by several Reno hotels, and with light luggage that is the simplest option. A pre-booked car makes more sense for families, groups, late arrivals or anyone heading on to Lake Tahoe or Truckee.
What happens if the flight is delayed?
The flight is tracked, so the chauffeur works to the actual landing time. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, and a delay does not change the fixed fare within the included time. Waiting beyond that is billed at cost, and the desk will tell you first.
How early should the pickup be for a flight out of RNO?
Start with the airline's check-in and bag-drop deadline, add time for security, then add the drive with a buffer for the season. From South Lake Tahoe the clear-road drive is about 83 minutes, but winter storms add time. The desk suggests a pickup time when you book.
