From Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Square One and Mississauga City Centre is about 13 km (8 mi), roughly 18 minutes on a clear road and 25 to 40 minutes in rush hour. An airport taxi from the terminal rank charges the airport authority's tariff for your destination, a rideshare shows a demand-based price in the app, and a pre-booked Elly8.net car costs from US$105 in a business sedan to US$275 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and the same in either direction.
Because the drive is so short, the fare is rarely the whole story. What decides it is the time between the aircraft door and the car door: customs, the carousel, the taxi queue or the wait for a match. For one or two people at a quiet hour, the rank is a perfectly good choice. For late arrivals, families, teams and anyone expensing the trip, a tracked pickup removes the variables.
What does an airport taxi from Pearson to Mississauga cost?
Taxis and airport limousines at Pearson's ranks charge the Greater Toronto Airports Authority's tariff for your destination, not the Mississauga city meter. Rideshare prices are shown in the app and change with demand. An Elly8.net car to Square One is fixed at US$105 in a business sedan up to US$275 in an Executive Sprinter.
The rule comes from Mississauga's Public Vehicle Licensing By-law 0420-2004, which covers taxis, limousines and chauffeured services in the city and at the airport. It says a taxi operating with an airport permit must not run the meter on fares to and from the airport terminals, and must use the airport authority's GTA taxi tariff instead. In other words, the airport-to-Mississauga taxi fare is set per destination by the airport's tariff rather than ticking up by the kilometre.
The practical effect is that the fare is set by the airport authority's tariff rather than by the city meter, so if you want the number in advance, ask the driver for the fare to your address before you set off. Inside the car, the Mississauga meter rules do not apply to that trip.
Inside Mississauga, by contrast, an ordinary city taxi runs the City's meter: C$4.25 to start and C$0.25 per 141 metres. Our Mississauga taxi vs Uber vs private car guide works through those meter numbers trip by trip.

Two directions, two different rides
From the airport. Arriving passengers who have not booked anything have two walk-up choices: the taxi and airport limousine ranks outside the terminal, or a rideshare requested in the app. Both are on demand. Both depend on the queue, the match and the hour.
To the airport. Leaving from Mississauga, the by-law licenses vehicles that make pre-arranged trips from any point in the city to Pearson for a single fare per trip, and taxis with an airport permit again use the airport tariff for the run. You can also order a rideshare from your door, or book a car with a fixed fare.
Elly8.net fares are the same in both directions. Square One to Pearson costs exactly what Pearson to Square One costs, US$105 in a business sedan, and a round trip booked together runs from US$200 in a sedan to US$525 in an Executive Sprinter.
Where the waiting actually happens
On a short airport run, most of the elapsed time is spent before the car moves. A typical evening arrival looks like this:
- Landing and taxiing. Pearson is a big airfield, and the walk from some gates is long.
- Customs. International arrivals clear border services before reaching baggage claim, and the queue length depends on how many flights land together.
- Baggage. A full widebody can take a while to unload.
- The last step. At the rank, you join the taxi queue. With an app, you request the car and wait for a match, then walk to the pickup point it gives you. With a booked car, your chauffeur is already inside arrivals with a name board.
Steps one to three are the same for everyone. Step four is where the options differ. On a calm Tuesday afternoon the taxi queue may be a few minutes; when several international flights bank together in the evening, or a storm has delayed a wave of arrivals, both the queue and the app wait stretch out, and app prices rise with demand.
With an Elly8.net pickup, the desk tracks your flight, moves the pickup with an early or late landing, and gives you complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, so a slow customs line or a missing bag does not cost extra. Waiting well beyond the included time, such as a long lost-baggage claim, is billed at cost. See airport transfers and meet and greet for how it works across the network.
Rideshare at Pearson: what to expect
Uber and Lyft both work at Pearson. You request the car in the app once you have your bags, the app tells you where to meet the driver, and the price is shown before you confirm. It is a good fit for a flexible traveller with a carry-on at an off-peak hour.
The trade-offs are predictable. Prices are not published and move with demand, so a Friday evening or a snowstorm costs more than a quiet morning. The vehicle class you get depends on what is nearby, which matters if you have more than two large cases. And you cannot have a child seat fitted in advance; you either travel with your own or rely on what the car has. Our broader comparison is chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
The train and bus question
Travellers who know the UP Express sometimes assume it helps with Mississauga. It does not: the UP Express runs from Pearson's Terminal 1 east to Union Station in downtown Toronto, away from Square One. An adult one-way is C$12.35, children 12 and under ride free, and group passes for 3 to 5 people cost C$25 to C$40. It is excellent value if your hotel is downtown, and the wrong direction if it is in Mississauga.
For Mississauga itself, the transit option is local buses, which suit a light traveller with time and a PRESTO card; check current routes with MiWay. With luggage, children or a late flight, a taxi or a booked car is the practical choice.
Fixed fares from Pearson to Mississauga
| Vehicle | Seats / bags | Pearson to Square One | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | 3 / 2 | US$105 | US$200 |
| Business SUV | 6 / 6 | US$140 | US$270 |
| First class SUV | 6 / 6 | US$170 | US$325 |
| First class sedan | 3 / 2 | US$185 | US$355 |
| Executive Sprinter | 12 / 12 | US$275 | US$525 |
Every price is per vehicle and all-in: chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. If your address is not the City Centre, say Port Credit, Streetsville, Meadowvale or an office park beside Highway 401, the web booker prices any pickup and drop-off pair. Seats and bags come from our fleet page; a business sedan takes three passengers and two large cases, so a family of four with luggage belongs in a business SUV.
Toronto and the GTA run on the Elly8 fleet and chauffeurs, so the desk that tracks your flight dispatches the car that collects you. The rest of the city's prices, including hourly and full-day service, are in the Mississauga fares panel on our Mississauga car service page.
Five arrivals, five sensible choices
A solo traveller, carry-on only, landing at 2 p.m. on a weekday. The taxi rank is fine and quick, and so is an app ride. A booked sedan adds certainty, not much else.
A couple landing at 12:30 a.m. after a delayed connection. Book the car. A tracked pickup waits for the actual landing, and you are not standing in a late-night queue or watching an app search for a driver.
A family of five with a toddler and six bags. Book a business SUV at US$140 and request the child seat. Two taxis would cost more in time and coordination, and the seat would not be waiting for you.
A trade-show team of nine heading to the International Centre. The International Centre at 6900 Airport Road is a few minutes from the terminals. An Executive Sprinter carries up to twelve with twelve bags for one fixed fare, and multi-day shows can be planned as hotel loops under conference transportation.
A visiting executive who needs one number for the expense report. Book it. A fixed fare is on the confirmation before the flight leaves, and regular travellers can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing.

Going to Pearson from Mississauga
Pearson has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3; your airline and flight number tell us which one. From Square One, leaving about 2 hours and 15 minutes before a US or international departure is usually comfortable outside the morning peak; for weekday morning flights, add a buffer for the 401 and 410 interchanges. US-bound passengers clear US preclearance at Pearson before boarding, which is one more reason not to cut it fine.
Highway 407 ETR, which crosses north Mississauga, is a toll road; tell us if you would rather avoid it, and remember that tolls are billed at cost. For a drive further afield after you land, our Toronto car service and Hamilton car service pages have fixed Pearson fares, and the same approach to a smaller airport is in our Hamilton airport limo guide. For the general case, read chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs airport shuttle.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a taxi from Pearson to Mississauga?
Taxis and airport limousines at the Pearson ranks charge the Greater Toronto Airports Authority's tariff for your destination rather than the city meter, so the fare depends on where in Mississauga you are going. Ask at the rank before you set off. A booked Elly8.net car to Square One is fixed at US$105 in a business sedan.
Is Uber or a taxi better from Pearson to Mississauga?
At a quiet hour with light luggage, either works well. At busy times the taxi queue grows and app prices rise with demand. For late arrivals, families with child seats or groups with several bags, a pre-booked car with a tracked pickup is usually the calmer choice.
How long is the drive from Pearson to Square One?
About 13 km (8 mi), roughly 18 minutes on a clear road and 25 to 40 minutes in weekday rush hours around the 401, 403 and 410 interchanges. On most arrivals, customs, baggage and the queue for a ride take longer than the drive itself, which is why the pickup method matters.
Where does my Elly8.net chauffeur meet me at Pearson?
Inside the arrivals hall of Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, with a name board at the exit from baggage claim and customs. Add your flight number when you book so the desk can track it; you have complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
Is the airport fare the same from Mississauga to Pearson?
Yes. Every Elly8.net airport fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so Square One to Pearson costs US$105 in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Can I get a child seat for a Pearson pickup?
Yes, child seats are available on request. Tell us each child's age and weight when you book and the seats are fitted before the chauffeur meets you. A business SUV gives a family room for seats and luggage at a fixed price per vehicle.
