A limo to YYZ from downtown Toronto costs from US$155 in a business sedan to US$405 in an Executive Sprinter on Elly8.net, fixed and all-in, and the fare is the same in the other direction when you fly home. Book the outbound and the return together and a business sedan round trip starts at US$295.
The price is the easy part. What decides whether the morning goes smoothly is the pickup time, the vehicle you choose for your luggage and a few details you give the desk when you book. This guide covers all three, then walks through the meet and greet that brings you home again.
How early should a car pick you up for a YYZ flight?
From the Financial District or Yorkville on a weekday morning, plan a pickup about 2 hours and 45 minutes before an international or US departure, and about 2 hours 15 minutes before a domestic flight. The drive is about 31 km (19 mi), roughly 31 minutes on a clear road and often 45 to 70 minutes at rush hour.
Those are the timings our desk suggests for downtown pickups. They allow for the drive, check-in and bag drop, security, and for US-bound passengers, the extra step most people underestimate. Toronto Pearson is one of the Canadian airports where U.S. Customs and Border Protection runs preclearance, so you clear US immigration and customs before you board. It saves time on landing in the US, but the queue happens in Toronto, before your flight.

Traffic is the variable. The usual route from downtown runs west on the Gardiner Expressway and north on Highway 427, and both slow sharply in the morning peak. Evenings are lighter heading to the airport but the Gardiner can stall after a game or concert lets out near Union.
| Leaving from | Weekday 6-9 a.m. | Midday | Evening | Suggested pickup before a US or international flight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Financial District, King and Bay | 45 to 70 min | 35 to 45 min | 35 to 50 min | 2 h 45 min |
| Yorkville and Bloor Street | 50 to 75 min | 35 to 50 min | 40 to 55 min | 2 h 45 min to 3 h |
| Liberty Village and King West | 40 to 60 min | 30 to 40 min | 30 to 45 min | 2 h 30 min to 2 h 45 min |
| Mississauga City Centre | 25 to 40 min | 20 to 25 min | 20 to 30 min | 2 h 15 min |
The drive-time ranges are the desk's working estimates, not guarantees. If snow is forecast, or your flight leaves on a Friday afternoon in summer, add 20 to 30 minutes. The fare does not change if the drive runs long; it was fixed when you booked. If you are staying near the airport instead, Mississauga car service is the shorter, cheaper ride.
The departures curb at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3
Pearson has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and they are far enough apart that the right one matters. Tell us your airline and flight number when you book. The chauffeur confirms the terminal on the day and pulls up at the departures level, unloads the bags to the curb and, if you want help, takes them to the door.
If you end up at the wrong terminal, the Terminal Link train connects Terminals 1 and 3, and the UP Express Pearson Station sits beside it in Terminal 1. It is a backstop, not a plan: a correct drop saves 15 minutes you will want at security.
For an early departure, the chauffeur arrives at your pickup point a few minutes before the booked time and messages when the car is outside, so you are not standing in a lobby at 4:30 a.m. wondering whether the car is coming. Hotels usually let the car wait in the driveway for a short loading stop; condo buildings vary, which is why the exact pickup point matters.
Departures curbs at Pearson are for loading and unloading only. That is one reason the drop-off is quick, and one reason a pre-booked car is relaxed about it: there is no search for parking, no rental return and no shuttle from a long-term lot.
Which vehicle holds your luggage?
Choose by passengers and bags, not headcount alone. The capacities below are what each class takes comfortably; the fleet page has the details.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | YYZ one way | YYZ round trip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$155 | US$295 |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$275 | US$525 |
| Business SUV / Van | up to 6 | 6 | US$205 | US$390 |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$250 | US$475 |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$405 | US$770 |
A few Toronto patterns we see every week:
- Two travellers, two checked bags and two carry-ons. A sedan works if the carry-ons are small. With a garment bag or a laptop roller each, a business SUV at US$205 is the safer choice.
- A family of four flying to Florida in February. Four suitcases, a stroller and a car seat do not fit a sedan. Book a business SUV and request the child seats you need.
- Ski or golf trips. Ski bags and golf travel cases are long. Tell us the number and the SUV or Sprinter is set up with the seats folded where needed.
- A team flying to a trade show. Six people with sample cases and personal luggage fill a Sprinter better than two SUVs, and one vehicle keeps everyone on the same timetable. See group transportation for larger moves.
Prices are per vehicle, never per person. A Sprinter at US$405 costs the same whether it carries six people or twelve.
What to tell the desk when you book
The booking form asks for the basics. These extras save time on the morning:
- Airline and flight number for the outbound, so the drop is at the right terminal.
- Your return flight number, if you book the round trip now. The desk tracks that flight and schedules the pickup from it.
- Exact pickup point. Hotel driveways on King Street and condo towers with a concierge lane both work; a back laneway does not. If your building has a loading entrance, tell us.
- Bags, skis, golf clubs, a stroller or a wheelchair. It decides the vehicle.
- Child seats. Give each child's age and weight so the right seat is fitted before pickup. Transport Canada explains the stages of child seat use in Canada.
- Highway 407. The toll road can save time on some routes from the north and east of the city. Tolls are billed at cost, so let us know whether you want it used. Rates are on 407 ETR's site.
Your confirmation arrives by email, and the chauffeur's details follow before pickup.
The return: meet and greet inside arrivals
The second half of a YYZ round trip is the one people remember. When you land, the flight has already been tracked. If it is early, the chauffeur is early; if it is three hours late, the pickup moves with it, and you do not need to call.
Your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall of your terminal with a name board, at the exit from baggage claim and customs. International and transborder passengers clear Canadian border services before reaching the hall, which can take a while after a busy evening bank of flights. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, which covers the normal time at the carousel and in the customs queue. Waiting well beyond the included time is billed at cost; if a bag is lost and you are stuck at the airline desk, message the desk so the chauffeur knows.
From there it is a short walk to the car and the same fixed fare back downtown. More on how arrivals are handled across the network is on our airport meet and greet and airport transfers pages, and the step-by-step arrival timeline is in our guide to Pearson airport transportation.
When a limo to YYZ is not the best choice
We would rather you book the right thing than book us. If you are travelling alone with a carry-on, staying near Union Station and flying in the middle of the day, the UP Express train is cheap and fast: C$12.35 for an adult one-way, according to UP Express fares. Our honest comparison of UP Express or a car service covers when the train wins and when it does not.
The car wins on the mornings that go wrong without one: a 5 a.m. departure before the first train, three people and five bags, children who need seats, a hotel in Yorkville or Midtown far from Union, or a fixed budget that an expense report can predict. If you are comparing quotes, our breakdown of the Toronto airport limo flat rate explains what should and should not be in the price.
Corporate travellers and assistants booking for others
Assistants and travel bookers can book for someone else: enter the traveller's name and mobile number, and your own email if you want the confirmation. The name board shows the traveller's name. Companies with regular YYZ runs can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, and NDAs are available on request. For a day that starts at the airport and runs through several meetings, see corporate car service.
Cancellation and changes
Plans change, especially flight times. Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup and it is free. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go back to the original card. The full terms are on the cancellation policy page. If the airline moves your flight, tell the desk and the pickup moves with it.
Toronto and the GTA run on the Elly8 fleet and chauffeurs, so the car that takes you to Pearson comes from the same desk that took your booking. Elly8.net is a member of LWD, LAI, HWD and VWD: LimousineWorldwide.Directory, LimousineAssociation.International, HotelsWorldwide.Directory and VacationsWorldwide.Directory. For flights and hotels, our travel partner is BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the car.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo to YYZ from downtown Toronto?
On Elly8.net it is from US$155 in a business sedan and US$205 in a business SUV, up to US$405 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in. The fare includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity. Tolls such as Highway 407 and extra waiting are billed at cost. A round trip booked together starts at US$295.
What time should my car pick me up for an early flight?
From downtown on a weekday morning, about 2 hours and 45 minutes before a US or international departure and about 2 hours 15 minutes before a domestic one. For a first-wave flight at 6 or 7 a.m., the roads are clear but check-in queues build early, so we keep the same margin.
Can a sedan take two large suitcases?
Yes. A business or first class sedan takes up to 3 passengers and 2 bags. If you also have bulky carry-ons, a garment bag or a car seat, book a business SUV, which takes up to 6 passengers and 6 bags, for US$205 one way.
Where does the chauffeur meet you on the flight home?
Inside the arrivals hall of your terminal, Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, with a name board at the exit from baggage claim and customs. The flight is tracked, the pickup moves with any delay, and you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
Can the return be booked before the flight is confirmed?
Yes. Book the outbound now and add the return when you have the flight number, or book both and update the return later through the desk. The round-trip price applies when both legs are booked together, and the flight number is what lets us track the landing.
Do you use Highway 407 to get to Pearson?
Only if you want it. From downtown the usual route is the Gardiner and Highway 427, which has no tolls. From the north or east of the city the 407 can save time; its tolls are billed at cost, so tell the desk your preference when you book.
