A Kingston party bus through Elly8.net seats up to 12 and is priced in the web booker for your addresses, date and hours, with the driver, taxes and standard gratuity included. The published benchmark is a 12-seat Executive Sprinter at US$220 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, US$1,100 for the evening out and event night package, or US$1,215 for a six-hour day in the Thousand Islands, all per vehicle.
Kingston has its own set of party-bus jobs: Queen's formals and graduations, Frontenacs and concert nights at Slush Puppie Place, limestone-church weddings with waterfront receptions, and days out to the islands or Prince Edward County. It also has a new licensing regime, introduced in October 2026, which gives you a simple question to ask any operator. Rides in Kingston are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
What does a party bus cost in Kingston?
On Elly8.net, a Kingston party bus is quoted in the web booker for your route, date and hours, all-in. Published fixed prices start with a 12-seat Executive Sprinter at US$220 an hour with a 3-hour minimum (US$660), US$1,100 for an event night and US$1,215 for a six-hour Thousand Islands day, per vehicle, including driver, taxes and gratuity.
Party buses are not on the fixed Kingston price list because partner vehicles differ in layout, lighting and sound, and demand on a Queen's homecoming Saturday is not the same as on a Tuesday in March. Every other class is published on the Kingston limo service page.

Party bus or Sprinter? The party bus is built around the ride: perimeter seating, lighting and a sound system. The Executive Sprinter has forward-facing seats and room for 12 bags, so it is the better choice for a long day on the road, a winery tour or a group that mostly wants a comfortable, quiet trip. On a Thousand Islands day, with coolers, jackets and a boat cruise in the middle, the Sprinter wins. On a birthday downtown, the party bus does. Our party bus rental and Sprinter van with driver pages go further.
Prices, worked out for a group
Every Elly8.net price is per vehicle, never per person. The divided columns are arithmetic to help a group split the bill.
| Kingston plan | Executive Sprinter | Divided by 12, for comparison only | Business SUV | Divided by 6, for comparison only |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 hours hourly | US$660 | US$55 | US$420 | US$70 |
| Evening out and event night | US$1,100 | about US$92 | US$700 | about US$117 |
| Thousand Islands day trip, 6 hours | US$1,215 | about US$101 | US$775 | about US$129 |
| Full-day chauffeur | US$1,620 | US$135 | US$1,035 | US$172.50 |
| Corporate roadshow day | US$1,980 | US$165 | US$1,260 | US$210 |
Prices include chauffeur, vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. Time beyond the booked hours is billed at the vehicle's hourly rate.
One vehicle or two?
The instinct is to put everyone in one vehicle, and for a birthday that is right: one bus, one pickup list, one bill. Weddings and formals are different, because the group rarely moves as one. The wedding party needs to be at the church early and at the photo locations in the afternoon; the friends who stay to the end of the reception need a ride after midnight; the grandparents want to leave after dinner.
For those days, two smaller bookings often beat one large one. A Sprinter for the wedding party from the afternoon, and a party bus for the late run, cost more in total than a single vehicle, but nobody waits three hours for a ride they do not need, and the overtime bill disappears. For a formal with 20 students, two Sprinters with the same pickup list split by neighbourhood are faster than one large vehicle doing a long loop of the city. The desk can price both ways in the booker so you can compare before you decide.
Pickups and staging in downtown Kingston
Downtown Kingston is compact, and that helps: most restaurants, the arena, the waterfront hotels and Market Square are within a few blocks of each other. It also means streets are narrow and busy on event nights, so a 12-seat vehicle needs an agreed place to load rather than the front door. The desk sets a pickup point near the venue, and the group contact keeps everyone together there at the agreed time.
Residential pickups are easier. West-end homes and hotels near Highway 401 have driveways and quiet streets, and campus pickups follow whatever instructions the residence or the event organiser gives. Send those notes with the booking.
The fine print, and how to avoid surprises
1. Is the operator licensed in Kingston? Since 1 October 2026 the City of Kingston itself administers passenger transportation licensing, taking over from the Kingston Area Taxi Commission. Its new Passenger Transportation Services By-Law covers taxicabs, accessible taxicabs, limousines and other passenger transportation services. Ask any operator to confirm its licence and commercial insurance before you pay. Our Kingston partners are licensed and commercially insured, vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network.
2. Seats are a legal limit, not a suggestion. The same by-law says no licensee will carry more passengers than the manufacturer's rated seating capacity. A vehicle described as "for 20" that has 14 belted seats takes 14. Check the seat count against your real headcount, and plan two vehicles if you are over.
3. Is the quote the total? The most common complaint in this business is a bill that grows at the end: gratuity added, a fuel surcharge, a "service" fee. Elly8.net prices include standard gratuity and taxes; only tolls, parking and extra waiting are billed at cost. Ask any other quote the same question in writing.
4. When do the hours start? Some operators bill garage to garage. On Elly8.net, the booker quote is for your trip as entered, from the first pickup.
5. What does overtime cost? Ask the rate before the night. Ours is the vehicle's hourly rate. The simplest protection is a realistic end time agreed at booking.
6. Cleaning charges. For comparison, Kingston's regulated taxi tariff allows a CA$80.50 extensive cleaning charge after an unusual sanitary accident. Private-hire operators set their own, sometimes higher. Ask what triggers one, and agree house rules with the group in advance.
7. Alcohol. The chauffeur follows Ontario's rules on alcohol in vehicles. Do not assume a vehicle allows drinking on board because it has lighting and a sound system. Plan drinks for the venue, and on any formal or prom night, plan for none.
8. Deposits and cancellations. Know the policy before you pay. Ours: free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. See the cancellation policy.
9. The vehicle's age. Ask the model year. Elly8.net partner vehicles are four model years old or newer.
Kingston nights and days that book groups
Slush Puppie Place. Downtown Kingston's arena, Slush Puppie Place, is home to the Kingston Frontenacs and books curling, concerts and touring shows. Its calendar includes a Grand Slam of Curling Players' Cup draw on 15 December 2026, the Harlem Globetrotters on 2 February 2027, Riverdance 30 on 3 February 2027 and Simple Plan on 9 February 2027. The driver stages a short walk from the doors after the show; agree the meeting point before you go in. See concert and festival transportation.
Queen's formals and graduations. Queen's University shapes the calendar, with formals through the academic year, homecoming in the fall and convocation in spring. A Stretch Limousine for 8 or a Sprinter for 12, a named organiser, a fixed pickup list and a firm return time make these nights easy. See prom limousines.
Fort Henry evenings. Fort Henry sits across the causeway from downtown. Visit Kingston notes that the LaSalle Causeway closes fully on select dates for marine navigation, so the desk checks before planning the route.
Waterfront weddings. Kingston's limestone churches and waterfront hotels make for a compact wedding day: a First Class Sedan for the couple, a Sprinter for the wedding party, and a party bus for the late run back from the reception. Out-of-town guests can be collected at Pearson, from US$1,470 in an Executive Sprinter, or at Kingston Norman Rogers Airport, from US$250. See wedding limousine service.
Prince Edward County wineries. West of Kingston, Prince Edward County is a wine and beach region that suits a full-day chauffeur from US$1,620 in a Sprinter, so nobody in the group drives. See wine tours.
The Thousand Islands. The signature Kingston day: east along the St. Lawrence to Gananoque for a boat cruise among the islands. Six hours from US$1,215 in an Executive Sprinter. Boat tickets and lunch are separate, and cruises are a summer and early-autumn activity.
Hours: how long to book
| Kingston plan | Realistic block |
|---|---|
| Dinner and a Frontenacs game | 4 to 5 hours |
| Downtown birthday | 3 to 4 hours |
| Formal or prom | 3 to 4 hours |
| Wedding day | 5 to 7 hours, or the full day |
| Thousand Islands day | the 6-hour package |
| Winery day in Prince Edward County | a full day |
Count from the first pickup to the last drop-off. Pickups spread between the west end, the campus and downtown can use half an hour before the night starts, so one gathering point saves time.
A booking timeline
Two to three months out for June and September wedding Saturdays, Queen's homecoming and convocation weekends, when hotels and vehicles are scarce together.
Four to six weeks out for formals and big birthdays.
Two weeks out for a game or show night, unless it is a sold-out event, when earlier is better.
The week before, send the final headcount, the pickup list in order, the group contact's phone number and venue notes. Changes inside 72 hours follow the cancellation terms.
If you are comparing cities, our London, Ontario party bus guide covers headcounts and hours for the 401 west, and for guests getting to Kingston, our Toronto to Kingston comparison sets out the options from Pearson and downtown Toronto.
A final point for organisers: send the pickup list in the order you want it driven, with a phone number for each stop. On a formal night with 12 students at six addresses, that one list is what keeps the evening on schedule.
How booking works
- Enter pickups and drop-offs in the booker, with the date, start time and hours.
- Choose the vehicle by headcount and bags.
- Confirm and pay in US$. The reservation arrives by email, and the 24/7 desk handles changes. Groups over 12 that need a coach can contact the desk; companies can bill events to a corporate account.

Frequently asked questions
How many people fit on a Kingston party bus?
Our party bus seats up to 12, the same as an Executive Sprinter. The Stretch SUV Limousine seats up to 16, and larger groups book two vehicles. Kingston's by-law limits passengers to the vehicle's rated seating capacity, so plan for the real headcount, not an estimate.
Is a party bus or a Sprinter better for the Thousand Islands?
Usually the Sprinter. It has forward-facing seats and room for 12 bags, which suits a six-hour day with a boat cruise in the middle. The six-hour package costs US$1,215 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in. A party bus is better for a night out downtown, where the ride is part of the celebration.
Do party bus operators need a licence in Kingston?
Yes. The City's Passenger Transportation Services By-Law, administered by the City since 1 October 2026, covers limousines and other passenger transportation services as well as taxis. Ask any operator to confirm its licence and commercial insurance. Elly8.net's Kingston partners are licensed and commercially insured.
What is included in the price?
Every Elly8.net price includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity, per vehicle. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost, and extra hours at the vehicle's hourly rate. The booker quote is the total for the trip as entered.
Can we bring drinks on the party bus?
The chauffeur follows Ontario's rules on alcohol in vehicles, and those rules are strict. Do not assume a vehicle allows drinking because it is a party bus. Plan the drinks for the venue, and for formals, proms and any group with under-age guests, plan for none.
How far ahead should we book for a Queen's event?
For homecoming, convocation and move-in weekends, book two to three months ahead, because hotels and vehicles fill at the same time. Formals usually book four to six weeks out. Send the final headcount, the pickup list in order and the group contact's number the week before.
