A Key West airport car service through Elly8.net takes you from Key West International Airport (EYW) to Old Town in about 8 minutes on a clear road, at a fixed, all-in price per vehicle: US$130 in a business sedan, US$170 in a business SUV, US$210 in a first class SUV, US$230 in a first class sedan and US$340 in an Executive Sprinter. The price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet, and your chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board.
On a ride this short, the honest question is not distance but what the arrival needs. Rides in Key West are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. This guide follows the trip from the aircraft door to your hotel or guesthouse, explains where everything is at EYW, and sets the fixed fare against the island's regulated taxi rates so you can decide which suits your trip.
What happens when you land at Key West airport?
You follow the exit signs from the concourse to baggage claim on the ground level, where your chauffeur waits with a name board. The desk has tracked your flight, so delays move the pickup automatically. After the bags, you walk to the car together, and the drive to Old Town takes about 8 minutes at a fixed price.
That is the whole sequence, and at EYW it is quick. The rest of this guide covers the details that make it smooth: what to send the desk, where taxis and app rides wait, how the guesthouse lanes work, and what the alternatives cost.

Before you fly: what the desk needs
- Your flight number. The desk tracks the flight, so an early arrival or a late connection through Miami, Atlanta or another hub moves the pickup with it. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
- The exact address. Many Old Town inns and guesthouses sit on narrow residential lanes. Send the street address, the name of the property and any arrival notes from your host, such as a side gate or a late check-in box.
- The bag count. Count dive gear, golf clubs, fishing rods and wedding garment bags. The count decides between a sedan, an SUV and the Sprinter.
- Child seats. Available on request; give each child's age and weight.
Inside EYW: from the gate to the car
Key West International is a compact airport, which helps. According to the airport's taxi page, arriving passengers follow the exit signs in Concourse A to the ground-level baggage claim area. That is where your chauffeur waits, holding a name board.
It helps to know where everything else is, too:
- Taxis wait outside the baggage claim area. The airport directs passengers to exit left near the rental car desks and proceed outside to the taxi line.
- App rides meet passengers at the pickup area along the blue curb, outside and to the right of the arrivals and baggage claim area, according to the airport's ride share page. Several hotels also run courtesy shuttles from the same blue curb.
- Public buses stop alongside Faraldo Circle at the airport exit.
- Baggage porters. The airport lists baggage service companies that can collect and deliver luggage, useful for wedding guests with a lot of gear.
Every commercial operator that serves passengers at EYW, including taxis, vehicles for hire and shuttles, must hold an active permit under the airport's Ground Transportation Resolution, as the ground transportation page explains. Pickups follow the airport's rules for where commercial vehicles stand, which is one reason the chauffeur meets you inside rather than circling the curb.
If you cannot see the name board, stay in baggage claim and call the 24/7 desk number in your confirmation email.

The short drive, and the guesthouse lanes
EYW sits on the island's south side, about 2 km (2 mi) from Old Town, and the clear-road drive is about 8 minutes. The time is rarely the issue. The last few hundred yards are.
Old Town's streets are narrow, and the lanes around the guesthouses were not built for cars. Your chauffeur drops you at the closest legal point to the door and unloads the bags. On busy weekend evenings and during festival weeks, Old Town traffic and crowds on and around Duval Street slow everything, and the desk allows 15 to 20 minutes for the run.
If you are staying beyond Old Town, the drive changes a little. New Town, along the island's east side, has larger hotels with simple driveways. Stock Island, the next key, is a few miles from the airport, with marinas, resorts and restaurants. Both are priced by address in the web booker.
Landing late or on a delayed connection
Many Key West arrivals connect through a larger hub, and a missed or late connection can turn an afternoon landing into a late-evening one. That is where a booked car helps most. The city's Key West Rides on-demand bus runs from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the City of Key West, so after 8 p.m. the choices are the taxi line, an app ride or a car that is already booked. Because the desk tracks the flight, the pickup simply moves to the new landing time, and the fixed fare does not change. If a delay pushes the arrival to the next day, call the desk to rearrange the pickup.
Flat rate or meter: what the taxi costs
Key West taxis have regulated maximum fares, published by the airport on its taxi page. From the airport, groups pay a zone fare per person:
| Taxi zone from EYW | Area | Maximum per person |
|---|---|---|
| Zone 1 | All areas west of White Street, which covers most of Old Town | US$9 |
| Zone 2 | East of White Street and west of Kennedy Drive | US$8 |
| Zone 3 | East of Kennedy Drive to Cow Key Channel, including south of Roosevelt Boulevard | US$7 |
| Zone 4 | Stock Island and Key Haven | US$8 |
A single passenger rides on the meter instead: a US$3.95 initial charge, US$0.70 for each additional fifth of a mile and US$0.70 for each 50 seconds of waiting. Meters must be on for single passengers, rates must be disclosed before departure, drivers must accept cash and cards, and wheelchair-accessible taxis are available at no extra charge.
The numbers are clear. A couple going to Old Town pays a taxi maximum of US$18, and four people pay US$36, against US$130 for an Elly8.net business sedan or US$170 for a business SUV. For most arrivals with ordinary luggage in daylight, the taxi is the better value, and we would rather you know that. The Key West taxi vs Uber vs private car guide in this series compares every option in detail.
A booked car earns its fare when the arrival has more to it: a wedding party that needs one vehicle and twelve bag spaces, a family with child seats fitted before landing, a late arrival when you do not want to depend on the taxi line, a client or VIP who should be met inside, or a company that wants a fixed price on one invoice. Our chauffeur vs taxi page sets out the trade-offs across cities.
Weddings and group arrivals
Key West is a favourite for destination weddings, and wedding weekends are where airport transfers get complicated: guests on different flights, garment bags, welcome bags and a rehearsal dinner the same evening. Two approaches work well. One car per flight means nobody waits; one Executive Sprinter, at US$340 to Old Town, suits several guests landing together. For the day itself, a full-day chauffeur runs from US$740 in a business sedan to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter. See our wedding limousine and group transportation pages.
Business arrivals and retreats
For leadership retreats and small conferences at Key West resorts, a corporate account gives monthly invoicing, NDAs on request and one desk for every arrival. The corporate roadshow day, from US$900 in a business sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter, covers a planned 10-hour day with one chauffeur. Our corporate car service page explains how multi-car arrivals are scheduled.
The return to EYW
The fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so the ride back to the airport costs what the arrival did. Because the drive is short, the main thing is to leave on time for your airline's check-in and security advice; the desk sets the pickup time from your flight. Your chauffeur collects you at the door, or at the nearest legal point on a narrow lane, and drops you at the terminal.
Flying into Miami instead
Many visitors fly into Miami and make the drive down the Overseas Highway, about 158 mi (254 km) and roughly four hours without stops from Miami International. That trip is priced in the web booker, in every vehicle class. The Miami to Key West guide in this series covers the route, the stops and the alternatives, and our Miami car service page has the Miami price list.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from Key West airport to Old Town?
On Elly8.net, US$130 in a business sedan, US$170 in a business SUV, US$210 in a first class SUV, US$230 in a first class sedan and US$340 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. Each fare is fixed and all-in, including chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Other island addresses, including Stock Island, are priced in the web booker.
Where does the chauffeur meet you at EYW?
In the ground-level baggage claim area, holding a name board. Follow the exit signs from Concourse A. The desk tracks your flight and you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. If you cannot see the board, stay inside and call the 24/7 desk number in your confirmation email.
How long is the drive from the airport to Duval Street?
About 8 minutes on a clear road for roughly 2 km (2 mi). On busy weekend evenings and festival weeks, Old Town traffic and crowds slow the last part, and the desk allows 15 to 20 minutes. The chauffeur drops you at the closest legal point to your door.
Is a taxi cheaper than a car service in Key West?
Usually, yes. From the airport, regulated taxi maximums are US$9 per person to most of Old Town, so a couple pays up to US$18. A single passenger pays the meter. A booked car makes sense for groups needing one vehicle, child seats, late arrivals, VIP meetings and weddings.
Can you handle a whole wedding party arriving on different flights?
Yes. Send the desk every flight number. Guests on separate flights can each have their own car, and guests landing together can share an Executive Sprinter for up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, at US$340 to Old Town. Everything sits on one booking and one invoice.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go back to the original card used for the booking.
