Detroit limo rental prices on Elly8.net start at US$95 an hour for a business sedan and run to US$190 an hour for a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. A 5-hour evening out costs from US$475 in a sedan to US$950 in a Sprinter, and a DTW airport transfer to downtown is a fixed US$215 to US$560. Every figure is per vehicle and all-in: chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity included.
Those are published numbers, not starting bids. The rest of this guide explains the price ranges for each kind of booking, what moves a limo quote up or down in Detroit, the fees that most often appear late on other quotes, and a short checklist for comparing two offers line by line. Rides in Detroit are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much does it cost to rent a limo in Detroit?
On Elly8.net a chauffeured car in Detroit costs from US$95 an hour in a business sedan, US$120 in a business SUV and US$190 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. Packages run from US$380 for a private city tour to US$1,710 for a corporate roadshow day in a Sprinter, all-in per vehicle.
The hourly rate is the building block. The packages bundle the hours most people need for a particular occasion at a price you can see before you book. Stretch limousines, stretch SUV limousines, party buses and the Rolls-Royce or Maybach class are not on the fixed list; the web booker prices them for your date and hours.

Seating, from our fleet page: sedans carry up to 3 passengers with 2 bags, SUVs up to 6 with 6 bags, and the Executive Sprinter up to 12 with 12 bags. A stretch limousine seats up to 8 and a stretch SUV limousine up to 16, but both carry only about two bags, so they are for occasions rather than airport runs.
What drives the price of a Detroit limo
Five things decide almost every limo quote, here and anywhere else.
1. The vehicle. A Sprinter costs twice the hourly rate of a sedan, but it carries four times the passengers. Per head, the bigger vehicle is usually cheaper once the group passes four or five people.
2. The hours, and the minimum. Most chauffeured bookings carry a minimum. Ours is 3 hours on the hourly rate. A 90-minute dinner run still bills 3 hours, which is why a one-way transfer, priced in the booker, can be better value for a simple A-to-B trip.
3. The day and the event. Saturday nights in May and June, prom season and big event nights fill vehicles early across metro Detroit. Our prices do not rise for those dates, but availability shrinks, especially for stretch limousines and party buses. Book well ahead for Ford Field games, Little Caesars Arena concerts and the January auto show at Huntington Place. Visit Detroit lists what is on across the city.
4. Distance outside the core. Metro Detroit is spread out. A wedding that starts in Grosse Pointe, takes photos on the riverfront and ends in Novi covers real mileage, and a concert at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston is about 40 mi (65 km) from downtown, roughly 49 minutes each way on a clear road. Long legs mean more hours.
5. What is included. Gratuity, taxes, fuel and airport fees are either in the price or added afterwards. On Elly8.net, the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet are included. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
Hourly or a package: which is cheaper?
The packages are designed around the hours most people actually use.
- Evening out & event night. The 5-hour package costs exactly five hours at the hourly rate, from US$475 in a sedan to US$950 in a Sprinter. Its value is certainty: the time is set, the chauffeur stays with you, and the desk plans the drop-off and pickup points around the venue.
- Full-day chauffeur. From US$700 in a sedan to US$1,400 in a Sprinter. It suits a wedding day or a long day of visits across the suburbs.
- Ann Arbor day trip. A 5-hour package, from US$440 in a sedan to US$875 in a Sprinter, for a campus visit, a football Saturday or meetings at the university.
- Corporate roadshow day. From US$855 to US$1,710, built for back-to-back meetings with a chauffeur waiting at each stop; see roadshow chauffeur.
If your plan is a single trip to one venue and home again three hours later, a pair of one-way transfers from the booker may cost less than any hourly booking. If you will stop three or four times, hourly or a package almost always wins. Our hourly chauffeur page explains how the clock works.
Hidden fees to ask about on any limo quote
Not every quote you receive will be laid out the same way. These are the lines that most often appear after the headline number, and the questions to ask before you pay a deposit.
| Line on a quote | The question to ask | How Elly8.net handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Gratuity | Is it included, and at what rate? | Standard gratuity included in the price |
| Fuel or service surcharge | Is it a fixed amount or a percentage? | No separate surcharge line |
| Garage or travel time | Does the clock start when the car leaves the garage? | Price shown is for your booking |
| Minimum hours | What is the minimum, and does it change on Saturdays? | 3-hour minimum on hourly bookings |
| Overtime | What is the rate per extra hour or part-hour? | Waiting beyond the included time billed at cost |
| Tolls and parking | Are they estimated, included or extra? | Billed at cost |
| Cleaning or damage fee | What triggers it, and how much? | Damage beyond normal use may be charged at cost by the operator |
| Airport fees | Are meet and greet and parking included? | Meet and greet included in airport fares |
None of these lines is wrong in itself. The problem is surprise: a quote of US$400 that becomes US$520 once gratuity and a surcharge are added is not comparable with an all-in US$475. Ask every company for the total you will pay, written down, before you choose.
How to compare two Detroit limo quotes
A quick checklist, in the order that saves the most trouble:
- Same vehicle class and seat count. "Limo" can mean a stretch sedan, a stretch SUV, a Sprinter or a party bus. Ask for the make, model and seating.
- Same hours. Check the start time, the end time and the minimum.
- All-in total. Taxes, gratuity, fuel and fees included, in one number.
- Cancellation terms. Ours: free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, refunded to the original card.
- Licensing and insurance. Ask who operates the vehicle and confirm they are licensed and commercially insured.
- Vehicle age. Partner vehicles booked through Elly8.net are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.
- Rules on board. Ask about alcohol, food, decorations and music. The chauffeur follows local rules, which differ by vehicle type.
The general version of this checklist is on our page about how much a limo costs, and black car vs limousine explains when a stretch is worth it.
Worked examples for Detroit occasions
A Lions game for six. A business SUV on the Evening out & event night package is US$600, or US$100 each, with drop-off and pickup at agreed points near Ford Field. An Executive Sprinter for twelve is US$950, about US$79 each. See sports event transportation.
Prom night for eight. A Sprinter for five hours is US$950, about US$119 per student. A stretch limousine for the same group is priced in the booker for the date. Proms follow school rules and parents' instructions; see prom limousines.
A wedding day. A First Class sedan for the couple for six hours is US$930 (six hours at US$155), and a Sprinter for the wedding party for six hours is US$1,140. A full-day booking may suit better if the day runs long; the desk will compare the two for your timeline. See wedding limousine.
A party of 14 to 24. Two Sprinters or a Sprinter and an SUV usually beat one big bus on flexibility. Our Detroit party bus guide covers the sizing in detail.
Limo rental vs an airport transfer
If all you need is the airport, do not book by the hour. DTW to downtown is a fixed US$215 in a business sedan, the same in either direction, with flight tracking and meet and greet included. Our DTW car service walkthrough explains what happens from landing to drop-off.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum booking for a Detroit limo?
Hourly bookings have a 3-hour minimum, from US$285 in a business sedan to US$570 in an Executive Sprinter for those three hours. One-way transfers priced in the web booker, and the fixed DTW airport fares, have no hourly minimum, so a simple trip from one address to another can cost less than an hourly booking.
Is gratuity included in Detroit limo prices?
Yes. Every Elly8.net price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity, and airport fares also include meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. You can add an extra tip for exceptional service if you wish, but it is not expected.
How much is a stretch limo in Detroit?
Stretch limousines, which seat up to 8, and stretch SUV limousines, which seat up to 16, are priced in the web booker for your date and hours rather than listed. Enter your plan and you get one fixed, all-in price. For up to 12 people, the Executive Sprinter at US$190 an hour is the fixed-price alternative.
Do prices go up on prom nights or game days?
Our listed prices stay the same on busy dates. What changes is availability, especially for stretch limousines and party buses on Saturdays in spring and on Ford Field and Little Caesars Arena event nights. Book several weeks ahead for those dates and confirm the vehicle before you invite the group.
What fees should I watch for on other quotes?
Ask whether gratuity is included, whether there is a fuel or service surcharge, whether the clock starts at the garage, what the minimum and overtime rates are, and how tolls, parking and cleaning are charged. Then compare the all-in totals, not the headline hourly rate.
Can I cancel a limo booking?
Yes. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. Within 72 hours the charge is 10%, within 48 hours 50%, and within 24 hours or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go to the card used to book. If the date moves, contact the desk to change it instead.
