A Buffalo airport limo booked through Elly8.net is a chauffeured car that meets you inside Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) with a name board, at a fixed, all-in price set when you book. BUF to downtown Buffalo starts at US$145 in a business sedan, US$190 in a business SUV and US$380 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle, with flight tracking and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
The word "limo" covers a lot of vehicles, and at an airport the right one is usually not the longest. This guide explains how the meet and greet works at BUF, how to match the vehicle to your bags rather than your head count, and the small booking details that decide whether the first ten minutes after landing feel easy. Rides in Buffalo are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How does meet and greet work at Buffalo airport?
Your chauffeur waits inside BUF's single terminal at baggage claim on the arrivals level, holding a name board. The desk tracks your flight number, so the pickup moves with early or late landings, and complimentary waiting runs from the tracked landing. You collect your bags with the chauffeur beside you and walk out together.
BUF has one terminal, which makes it one of the simplest airports in our network for a meet and greet: every arriving flight ends at the same baggage claim, so there is only one place to look. The terminal is open 24 hours, according to the airport's FAQ, so late-night arrivals are routine.

The arrival, step by step
- When you book, give us the airline and flight number, the number of passengers and the number and type of bags.
- The day before, the chauffeur's name and phone number arrive by email. Save them.
- While you fly, the desk follows the flight. If you are delayed by a storm at your connecting airport, nothing needs to be done; the pickup moves with the tracked landing.
- On landing, turn your phone on and check for a message from the chauffeur. Walk to baggage claim.
- At baggage claim, look for the name board. The chauffeur helps you spot your bags and load them.
- To the car. The car is nearby; any airport parking fee is billed at cost.
- The drive. BUF is about 12 miles (19 km) from downtown, around 20 minutes on a clear road, longer at rush hour or in heavy snow.
If something goes wrong on your side, such as a lost bag or a long wait at the airline's baggage office, call the chauffeur or the desk so they know you are still inside. Our airport meet and greet page explains the service across all our cities.
Match the vehicle to the luggage, not just the people
This is the most important booking decision, and the one people most often get wrong. The capacities below are from our fleet page.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | BUF to downtown Buffalo | Good airport fit? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$145 | yes, for 1 to 2 people with normal bags |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$255 | yes, for executives and VIP guests |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$190 | yes, the family and ski-bag workhorse |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$235 | yes, families wanting the top tier |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$380 | yes, teams, wedding parties, groups |
| Stretch Limousine | up to 8 | 2 | web booker | rarely: little room for bags |
| Stretch SUV Limousine | up to 16 | 2 | web booker | rarely: for celebrations, not luggage |
Why the stretch limo is rarely the airport answer. A stretch limousine seats up to 8 but carries only about 2 bags, because the length goes into the cabin, not the trunk. It is the right car for a wedding or a prom, and the wrong car for eight people returning from a week in Florida. If you want the occasion feel for an arrival, a First Class SUV gives six people a premium cabin and room for six bags.
Count bags honestly. Two adults with a large suitcase each and two carry-ons fit a sedan. Add a stroller, a car seat box or a set of golf clubs and you need the SUV. Ski bags, hockey bags and instrument cases count as one bag each and usually more.
Winter adds bulk. Coats, boots and the occasional pair of skis take space that summer travellers do not need. From December to March, size up one class if you are unsure.
Booking tips that make the pickup smooth
Use the exact flight number. Codeshare flights can carry two numbers; give the one on your boarding pass and the operating airline if you know it.
Name the right person. If you are booking for a colleague, a parent or a client, put their name on the board and their mobile number in the booking, so the chauffeur can reach the person who is actually landing.
Ask for child seats in advance. They are available on request; give each child's age and weight so the right seat is fitted before pickup.
Mention accessibility needs. A folding wheelchair or a mobility scooter changes the vehicle; tell the desk when you book.
Book the round trip together. BUF round trips to downtown start at US$280 in a business sedan, US$365 in a business SUV and US$725 in an Executive Sprinter. The fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so the departure leg costs the same as the arrival.
Leave room for the weather. For departures, the desk usually suggests leaving downtown about two hours before a domestic flight, more in a storm. The airport notes that the TSA checkpoint closes at 9:00 pm daily, so late-evening departures need to be at the airport in good time.
Book early for big weekends. Bills home games at the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, convention weeks at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center and graduation weekends at the University at Buffalo bring a wave of arrivals, and SUVs and Sprinters are the first vehicles to be booked.
Group arrivals on different flights
Wedding parties, sports teams and conference groups rarely arrive on one flight. The question is whether to book one big vehicle that waits for everyone or several smaller ones that leave as people land.
One Executive Sprinter works when the flights land within an hour or so of each other. The Sprinter takes up to 12 passengers and 12 bags for US$380 to downtown, and the first arrivals wait in the terminal for the rest. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, so a long gap between the first and last flights adds up.
Several cars work better when arrivals are spread across the day. Three business SUVs at US$190 each cost US$570 together, more than the Sprinter, but nobody sits at baggage claim for three hours, and each car tracks its own flight.
A mix is common: a Sprinter for the main flight, plus a sedan or SUV for the stragglers. Send the desk the full list of names and flight numbers in one message, and we will suggest the split and put each traveller's name on the right board. Groups heading to a Bills game or a night out after landing can also read our Buffalo party bus guide, and the group transportation page covers larger movements.
Where BUF passengers go after landing
Downtown Buffalo is the published route, but many travellers continue elsewhere, and the web booker gives a fixed price door to door:
- The medical campus and downtown hotels, for visiting doctors, researchers and patients.
- Amherst and the University at Buffalo, closer to the airport than downtown.
- Orchard Park, for Bills weekends.
- Niagara Falls, New York and Ontario. For a day at the Falls with the car waiting, the 6-hour Niagara Falls day trip from Buffalo starts at US$525 in a business sedan and US$1,050 in an Executive Sprinter. Our Niagara Falls car service page covers the Canadian side, where passports are needed for every passenger.
- Toronto and the GTA. A large share of BUF passengers live in Ontario; see Toronto to Buffalo Airport by private car for the border plan.
Limo vs taxi vs app at BUF
A limo or chauffeured car is not always the right choice, and the airport lists the alternatives. NFTA Metro Route 24 Genesee runs between the airport and downtown for a US$2 one-way fare, according to the airport's public transportation page. A designated on-airport taxi provider serves the terminal, and Uber and Lyft operate there too. For one traveller with a carry-on in the afternoon, any of those is cheaper. We compare them in detail in Buffalo airport taxi or rideshare.
The pre-booked car earns its price when the flight is late, when there are three or more of you with bags, when you need child seats, when snow is forecast, or when you want the cost settled before you fly. For the general comparison, see chauffeur vs taxi and black car vs limousine.
Business travellers and assistants
Corporate travellers can book on a corporate account with monthly invoicing; NDAs are available on request. For a day of meetings after landing, the hourly chauffeur starts at US$95 an hour in a business sedan with a 3-hour minimum, and the corporate roadshow day starts at US$855. Hotel concierges and travel agents can book for guests through the hotels and travel agents programmes. More on airport transfers and corporate car service.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show; refunds go to the original card. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer (seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley). Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo from Buffalo airport to downtown?
On Elly8.net, from US$145 in a business sedan, US$190 in a business SUV, US$235 in a First Class SUV, US$255 in a First Class sedan and US$380 in an Executive Sprinter. The price is per vehicle and all-in: chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Parking and tolls are billed at cost.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at BUF?
Inside the terminal at baggage claim on the arrivals level, holding a name board with your name. BUF has a single terminal, so every flight arrives at the same baggage claim. The chauffeur's name and number arrive by email before pickup.
Can I book a stretch limo from Buffalo airport?
Yes, stretch limousines are priced in the web booker. But a stretch carries only about 2 bags, so it suits a wedding or celebration arrival with light luggage. For travellers with suitcases, a business or First Class SUV, or an Executive Sprinter for larger groups, is the better airport vehicle.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
The desk tracks the flight number and moves the pickup to the actual landing time. Complimentary waiting starts from the tracked landing, so a delay does not cost extra. If you are rebooked onto a different flight, tell the desk the new flight number.
How many bags fit in an SUV?
A business or First Class SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 6 bags. Bulky items such as ski bags, hockey bags or a stroller take more space, so tell the desk what you are carrying and size up to an Executive Sprinter if the group and luggage are both large.
Do you offer child seats at Buffalo airport?
Yes, child seats are available on request. Add the number of seats with each child's age and weight when you book, and the chauffeur fits them before pickup. Families with car seats and luggage usually book a business SUV.
