A Vancouver airport limo from Elly8.net is a pre-booked car with a chauffeur who tracks your flight, waits inside arrivals at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) with a name board and walks you to the vehicle. The fare from YVR to downtown Vancouver is fixed before you fly: US$110 in a Business Sedan, US$145 in a Business SUV, US$180 in a First Class SUV, US$195 in a First Class Sedan and US$290 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in.
What follows is the arrival itself, step by step: when to book, what the chauffeur does while you are in the air, where you meet, how long the chauffeur waits, how much luggage fits in each vehicle, and how the fixed price compares with a taxi on the YVR zone fares. Rides in Vancouver are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
What does a limo from YVR to downtown Vancouver cost?
An Elly8.net car from YVR to downtown Vancouver costs US$110 in a Business Sedan, US$145 in a Business SUV, US$180 in a First Class SUV, US$195 in a First Class Sedan and US$290 in an Executive Sprinter. The round trip starts at US$210. Prices are fixed, all-in and the same in either direction.
The price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and the airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. YVR sits about 14 km (9 mi) from downtown, roughly 23 minutes on a clear road, and the fixed fare does not change when the bridge approach slows at the evening peak.

Step 1: book with the flight number, not the landing time
Enter the flight number in the booking, together with the airline and where you are flying from. That one detail does most of the work. The desk follows the flight from departure, sees an early arrival or a delay as it happens and moves the pickup accordingly, so you do not need to message anyone from the plane.
Two details help us plan the meeting point:
- Where the flight comes from. Flights from the United States and overseas arrive on the international side and pass through Canadian customs before the arrivals hall; domestic flights come out on the domestic side.
- A connection. If you are connecting in another city on a different airline, tell us both flights, so the desk watches the one that actually lands at YVR.
For a group arriving on several flights, book the pickup against the last flight in, and tell us which passengers land earlier. YVR's own group arrivals guidance makes the same point for groups: base the pickup on the latest flight.
Step 2: landing, customs and the meeting point
YVR has a Domestic Terminal, an International Terminal that also handles flights from the United States, and the small South Terminal used by regional airlines. After a domestic flight you walk straight to baggage claim. After an international or US flight you clear Canadian customs first, and the time that takes depends on how many wide-body flights land together.
Your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area that matches your flight, holding a name board, and stays in contact by text. You receive the chauffeur's name and number before you fly. If you prefer a discreet board, with initials or a company name instead of your full name, tell the desk when booking.
From the arrivals hall the chauffeur walks you to the vehicle. You do not need to find a curb, a taxi stand or a ride-app zone. For comparison, YVR says taxis load at stands on International Arrivals Level 2 and Domestic Arrivals Level 2, and ride-app pickups use designated areas on the same level and at the South Terminal; the detail is on YVR's taxi page and rideshare page.
Step 3: how waiting time works
Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, not at the scheduled time. A flight that lands 40 minutes late does not eat into your waiting time, and a normal customs queue and baggage wait is covered. If something unusual happens, such as a missing bag or a long secondary inspection, message the chauffeur or the desk; waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk will tell you before it starts.
Early arrivals work the same way. If your flight is 25 minutes early, the chauffeur is there when you land because the pickup follows the flight. Our airport meet and greet page explains what happens with diversions and overnight delays.
Step 4: luggage, and which vehicle fits
Luggage, not passengers, usually decides the vehicle at YVR. Ski and snowboard bags heading for Whistler, cruise suitcases for an Alaska sailing and golf bags all change the answer. Capacities come from the Elly8.net fleet page.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | YVR to downtown | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$110 | One or two travellers, carry-on and one checked bag each |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$195 | Executives, a quiet car for a call |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$145 | Families, ski bags, cruise luggage |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$180 | VIP arrivals with luggage |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$290 | Groups, teams, wedding parties |
The Business SUV is the workhorse at YVR. It costs US$35 more than a sedan from the airport and takes three times the luggage, which is why families and ski travellers choose it. Long items such as skis and hockey bags should be mentioned at booking so the right vehicle is sent. For groups larger than six, the Vancouver Sprinter van guide covers seating and bag space in detail.
Flat rates: the fixed fare against the taxi zone fares
YVR taxis also have flat rates, which is helpful for anyone comparing. The YVR taxi page publishes zone fares for trips from the airport, set by the Passenger Transportation Board, and the zone map dated October 11, 2024 lists C$46 to the Canada Place and downtown zone. That fare includes a C$4 passenger load charge and excludes the gratuity. Trips to the airport, and trips to addresses outside the zones, run on the meter.
| Option, YVR to downtown | Price | What is included | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi, downtown zone | C$46 flat, plus gratuity | Driver and vehicle from the taxi stand | One or two travellers at short notice |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$110 fixed | Chauffeur, meet and greet inside arrivals, tracking, gratuity | Late flights, meetings, guaranteed pickup |
| Elly8.net Business SUV | US$145 fixed | Same, with room for 6 and 6 bags | Families, skis, cruise luggage |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$290 fixed | Same, with room for 12 and 12 bags | Groups that want to stay together |
The honest reading: for one or two travellers going downtown, the taxi zone fare is cheaper, and the taxi stand is a fine choice. The pre-booked car wins on what happens before you reach the curb (a named chauffeur waiting, flight tracking, no queue after a long-haul flight) and on everything a taxi is not designed for: child seats on request, six or twelve people in one vehicle, a stop on the way, and a fixed price back to YVR, where a taxi runs on the meter. The detailed taxi numbers are in our guide to YVR taxi rates and extras, and the scenario-by-scenario verdicts are in YVR taxi vs Uber vs private car.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
Some long-haul flights land in the early morning, and delays can push an evening arrival past midnight. That is when a booked car matters most. The Canada Line does not run all night; YVR's public transportation page says the N10 NightBus covers the hours when the train is closed. A pre-booked chauffeur is waiting whatever the hour, and the fare is the same at 2 a.m. as at 2 p.m. If you land late and need a child seat, a tired family's luggage loaded or a stop at a 24-hour pharmacy on the way, tell the desk when you book.
Departures: getting to YVR on time
Every Elly8.net airport fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so the run from downtown to YVR is also from US$110. Tell us your airline and destination, and the chauffeur drops you at the right door on the Departures Level 3 curb, where YVR's pickup and drop-off page says unloading is allowed.
On timing, we usually suggest leaving downtown about two and a half hours before a flight to the United States or overseas, and about two hours before a domestic flight, adding time on weekday afternoons when bridge traffic builds. YVR is a US preclearance location, so US-bound travellers clear US customs in Vancouver after security, as the airport's departures guide explains, and that is a queue of its own on busy mornings. A round trip booked together starts at US$210 in a Business Sedan.
Cruise, Whistler and Richmond: the three other YVR runs
Canada Place cruise terminal. On an Alaska sailing day, send the ship and sailing time with the booking. Transfers between YVR and the cruise terminal are quoted in the web booker, and families usually take a Business SUV for the luggage. See cruise port transfers.
Whistler. The run up the Sea-to-Sky Highway from YVR takes about two and a half hours in good conditions. One-way prices are on the Whistler car service page, and the desk checks road conditions in winter, when British Columbia's winter tire rules apply on signed highways from October 1 to April 30.
Richmond airport hotels. If you are staying near the airport, the drive is short, and the web booker quotes the exact address.
Business arrivals and accounts
For a meeting straight from the plane, the First Class Sedan is the usual choice: a quiet rear seat, a chauffeur briefed on the destination and a fixed price for expense reports. Assistants can book several arrivals at once, and a corporate account adds monthly invoicing and NDAs on request. A full day of meetings after landing is covered by the corporate roadshow day, from US$990 in a Business Sedan; see corporate car service. Private aviation arrivals are covered on private jet and FBO car service.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the chauffeur meet me at YVR?
Inside the arrivals area that matches your flight, domestic or international, holding a name board. The chauffeur tracks the flight and walks you to the car, so you do not need to find a taxi stand or a ride-app pickup area. You receive the chauffeur's name and number before you fly.
How long will the chauffeur wait if my flight is late?
The pickup follows the tracked flight, so a delay does not use up your waiting time. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing and covers a normal customs queue and baggage wait. If something unusual holds you up, message the chauffeur; extra waiting is billed at cost.
Is a taxi cheaper than a limo from YVR?
For one or two people going downtown, yes. YVR's published taxi zone fare to downtown is C$46 including the passenger load charge, before the tip, against US$110 for an Elly8.net Business Sedan. A pre-booked car is better value for families with child seats, groups who would need two taxis, and anyone who wants a guaranteed pickup inside arrivals.
Can I book the same fixed fare back to the airport?
Yes. Every Elly8.net airport fare is the same in either direction, so downtown Vancouver to YVR is also from US$110 in a Business Sedan. A round trip booked together starts at US$210. YVR taxis to the airport run on the meter rather than a zone fare.
Which vehicle should I book for ski bags?
A Business SUV, from US$145, takes up to six passengers and six bags, and suits ski and snowboard bags. For a larger group heading to Whistler, the Executive Sprinter carries twelve with twelve bags. Mention long items when booking so the right vehicle is sent.
