A St. Louis airport car service on Elly8.net starts before you board: you book with your flight number, the desk tracks the flight, and when you land at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) a chauffeur is waiting in the arrivals area of your terminal with a name board. The price is fixed before you fly, from US$165 in a business sedan to downtown St. Louis up to US$430 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle and all-in.
Rides in St. Louis are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Below is the arrival in seven steps, from the moment you book to the moment the bags are at your door, followed by what to do when a flight or a bag goes wrong.
What happens when you book a St. Louis airport car service?
You book online with your airline and flight number, choose the vehicle, and pay a fixed price. The desk tracks the flight, the chauffeur waits in arrivals at the correct Lambert terminal with a name board, and complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing. From STL to downtown, fares run from US$165 to US$430 per vehicle.
The published route is Lambert to downtown St. Louis, about 15 miles (24 km) and roughly 23 minutes on a clear road. Any other address, from Clayton to St. Charles, is priced in the web booker before you pay. The full price list is on the St. Louis fares panel.

Step 1: Book with the details that matter
Four details make an airport pickup work: the airline (it decides the terminal), the flight number (for tracking), the number of passengers and bags (it decides the vehicle) and any child seats (fitted before pickup, on request). If you are connecting through another hub, give the flight that actually lands in St. Louis.
Choose the vehicle by luggage as much as by headcount.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | STL to downtown | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | up to 2 | US$165 | US$315 |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | up to 2 | US$290 | US$555 |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | up to 6 | US$215 | US$410 |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | up to 6 | US$265 | US$505 |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | up to 12 | US$430 | US$820 |
Two people with two large suitcases and a carry-on each are better in an SUV than a sedan. Golf bags, strollers and wheelchairs need to be mentioned when you book. The fleet page shows each class in detail.
Step 2: In the air, the flight is tracked
Once the booking is confirmed by email, the flight is followed by the desk. If you land early, the pickup moves up; if a storm over Chicago holds your connection, the pickup moves back. You do not need to call to report a delay you could not control. If the flight number changes (a rebooking, a missed connection), send the new one to the desk as soon as you have it.
Step 3: Landing at the right terminal
Lambert has two terminals, and the airline decides which. According to the airport's security page, the Terminal 1 A gates serve Air Canada, Delta, United and charter flights; the Terminal 1 C gates serve Alaska, American and Frontier; and Terminal 2, with the E and F gates, serves Southwest and international charter arrivals. Airlines occasionally move, which is why the booking asks for the airline rather than assuming.
Step 4: The meeting point in arrivals
Your chauffeur waits in the arrivals area of your terminal, near baggage claim, holding a name board. This is the main practical difference from the on-demand options, which ask you to walk to a separate zone. You collect your bags, find your name, and the chauffeur takes the luggage from there. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, so a slow carousel costs nothing. Our airport meet and greet page describes the routine in more detail.
Step 5: The walk to the vehicle
The chauffeur walks you to the car, which is parked or staged according to the airport's rules for pre-arranged vehicles. Compare that with where the other options load, as listed on the airport's parking and transportation page:
- Rideshare (Uber, Lyft): Terminal 1 from Door 6 on the Departure Level; Terminal 2 from Door 12 on the Arrivals Level. The airport notes reservations must be made online.
- Taxi: Terminal 1 from Door 14 to the Garage Yellow Level; Terminal 2 across from Door 12 in the Terminal 2 garage. Each taxi pickup carries a US$4 airport use fee, and the exact fare depends on the destination.
- MetroLink: Terminal 1 through Exit Door 1 on the Ticketing Level, east of the ticket counters; Terminal 2 through Exit Door 12 via the parking garage. Fare must be bought before boarding.
None of these is difficult, but at the end of a long trip with children or heavy bags, not having to find Door 6 on a different level is part of what you are paying for.
Step 6: The drive
From Lambert, the usual route downtown is I-70, about 23 minutes on a clear road. Weekday rush hours and game nights at Busch Stadium or Enterprise Center add time; the fare does not change. If your hotel is in Clayton or the Central West End, the chauffeur takes the route that fits the time of day. Child seats requested at booking are already fitted. The chauffeur follows local rules throughout the ride.
Step 7: Drop-off, with nothing to settle
At the hotel or house, the chauffeur unloads the bags to the door. There is no payment at the end: the fixed price was charged when you reserved, and it includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. What happens after the drop-off (departure timing, the ride back to the right terminal, round trips) is covered in our companion guide to STL car service.
Flat rate or meter: what you actually pay from Lambert
| Option | What you pay to downtown | When the price is known | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| MetroLink light rail | US$2.50 cash rail fare per person | before you board | one traveller, light bag, near a station |
| Taxi | metered, plus US$4 airport use fee | at the end of the ride | one or two travellers, short notice |
| Rideshare | set by the app, varies with demand | when you request | flexible travellers at quiet times |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$165 per vehicle, all-in | when you book | business arrivals, late flights, fixed budgets |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$430 per vehicle, all-in | when you book | groups and families with luggage |
The rail fare comes from Metro Transit, which lists US$2.50 as the cash base fare for rail and US$5 for a one-day pass. For one person with a carry-on heading downtown, MetroLink is the clear value choice. The fixed price wins when the meter or the app would be guesswork: late arrivals, three or more people with bags, child seats, a meeting soon after landing, or a destination away from the rail line. Our chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs airport shuttle pages compare the categories in general, and St. Louis taxi vs Uber vs private car does it for trips around the city.
The taxi stand and the train, in a little more detail
If you decide a booked car is more than you need, both public options at Lambert are straightforward.
Taxis. The St. Louis Metropolitan Taxicab Commission, which regulates the airport's taxis, says cabs are available during all hours of airport operation, with stands in the parking garages directly across from the baggage claim areas at both terminals. The fare is metered to your destination, plus the US$4 airport use fee per pickup.
MetroLink. The Red Line runs from the Lambert Terminal 1 station, with a stop at Terminal 2, through the city to Shiloh-Scott in Illinois. It serves downtown at stations including Union Station, Civic Center, 8th and Pine and Convention Center, and the Central West End on the way. Clayton is on the Blue Line, so riders heading there change at Forest Park-DeBaliviere. For a hotel next to a downtown station and one light bag, the train is genuinely the smart choice.
Where the train gets awkward is the last stretch: a station that is several blocks from the hotel, a change of line with luggage, or a late arrival when you would rather not navigate. That is where the fixed fare earns its place.
When things do not go to plan
The flight is delayed. Nothing to do; the desk is tracking it and the pickup moves.
The flight is cancelled or diverted. Call the 24/7 desk with the new plan. We move the pickup to the new flight or cancel under the published policy.
A bag is missing. Tell the chauffeur, then report it at the airline's baggage office before you leave. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing covers a normal wait; a long lost-bag claim may run into waiting billed at cost, and the desk will tell you before it does.
You cannot find the chauffeur. The chauffeur's name and number arrive before pickup. Call them, or the desk, and stay where you are; it is easier for the chauffeur to come to you than for both of you to move.
Groups, families and business travellers
An Executive Sprinter takes up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, so a family reunion, a wedding party or a project team lands as a group and leaves as one. For corporate travellers, a corporate account puts every Lambert pickup on a monthly invoice, and the airport transfers page explains how we run arrivals in every Elly8.net city. Frequently asked questions
Where does the chauffeur meet you at Lambert?
In the arrivals area of your terminal, near baggage claim, with a name board. Terminal 1 serves Air Canada, Delta, United, Alaska, American and Frontier; Terminal 2 serves Southwest. Give the airline and flight number at booking, and the chauffeur goes to the right terminal and tracks the landing time.
How much is a car service from St. Louis airport to downtown?
On Elly8.net, US$165 in a business sedan, US$215 in a business SUV, US$265 in a First Class SUV, US$290 in a First Class Sedan and US$430 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle, fixed and all-in, including taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. The same price applies back to the airport.
How long will the chauffeur wait if the flight is late?
The flight is tracked, so the chauffeur works to the actual landing time, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. Waiting beyond the included time, for example during a long lost-bag claim, is billed at cost. If the flight is cancelled, call the desk to move or cancel the booking.
Is MetroLink cheaper than a car from Lambert?
Yes, for one person. Metro Transit lists the rail fare at US$2.50, with stations at both terminals. A booked car costs more but is met inside, takes all your luggage to the door, fits child seats on request and costs the same per vehicle for one passenger or a full load.
Can one booking cover a group arriving on different flights?
Yes. Add every flight number when you book. The desk can arrange one pickup after the last landing, or separate vehicles for each arrival. Because waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, separate pickups are usually better when flights land more than an hour apart.
Do you provide child seats at St. Louis airport?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many children are travelling and their ages and weights when you book, and the seats are fitted before the chauffeur meets you. Each fitted seat uses a passenger seat, so a family of five with two car seats is usually best in an SUV.
