A YUL limo is a chauffeured car booked before you fly, with a driver who tracks your flight and meets you inside arrivals at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport. On Elly8.net, YUL to downtown Montreal is a fixed, all-in fare from US$120 in a Business Sedan to US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, the same price in either direction, with meet and greet, taxes and standard gratuity included.
The airport also runs its own on-demand limousine service from a kiosk at Door 24, and taxis from Door 23, and for some travellers those are the better choice. This guide walks through an arrival step by step, sets out the luggage each vehicle takes, and is straight about when the kiosk or a taxi will do and when a pre-booked chauffeur is worth it.
Where does a pre-booked limo driver meet you at YUL?
With an Elly8.net booking, your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall at Montreal-Trudeau with a name board, after you have cleared customs and collected your bags. The desk tracks your flight, so the chauffeur works to the actual landing time, and complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing. You receive the chauffeur's contact details before you fly.
That is different from the airport's own limousine service. The YUL limousine page says that service is booked on site at the kiosk at Door 24 on the arrivals level, with your first name, destination and email, and that it cannot be booked before you land. A pre-booked chauffeur is the opposite model: the car, price and driver are fixed before you leave home.

Your arrival, step by step
1. Before you fly. Send your flight number when you book. If you are connecting, give the final flight into YUL. International arrivals can use the Canada Border Services Agency's Advance Declaration in the ArriveCAN app, which YUL's arrivals guide says can be completed up to 72 hours before your flight to save time at customs.
2. Landing. The desk sees the actual touchdown time, not the schedule. If you are early, the chauffeur is already there. If you are delayed, nobody is charging waiting time for the airline's delay.
3. Customs and bags. YUL's guide notes that after border control you collect your checked luggage. A wide-body arrival or several flights landing together can make this the longest part of the trip. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is designed for exactly this. If something goes wrong, a lost bag or a secondary inspection, message the chauffeur; the plan moves with you.
4. The meeting. Walk into the arrivals hall and look for your name on the board. The chauffeur helps with the bags and walks you to the car.
5. The drive. YUL to downtown is about 18 km (11 mi), around 23 minutes on a clear road via Highway 20 and the Ville-Marie route. Weekday late afternoons and Montreal's long construction season can double that, which is when a fixed fare earns its keep: the price does not change with the traffic.
Luggage: which vehicle fits
Choose by bags first, then by people. Capacities are from our fleet page.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Standard bags | YUL to downtown (fixed, all-in) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$120 | One or two business travellers |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$210 | Executives, a special arrival |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$160 | Families, skis, child seats |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$195 | VIP families, extra bags in comfort |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$315 | Groups, teams, wedding parties |
Two bags in a sedan means two full-size cases; add a third and you want the SUV. Ski and snowboard bags, golf bags, strollers and musical instruments all need a note in the booking so the desk confirms the fit. In winter, a group with ski gear heading to Tremblant almost always needs a Business SUV or the Sprinter. Child seats are available on request; give each child's age and weight and the seats are fitted before pickup.
Flat rate or metered: how YUL fares compare
YUL publishes its taxi and limousine prices, and they are worth knowing before you choose. Airport prices below are in Canadian dollars as published; Elly8.net prices are in US dollars, per vehicle.
| Option | Published price to downtown | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| YUL taxi, Door 23 | C$49.45 (5 a.m. to 11 p.m.), C$56.70 (11 p.m. to 5 a.m.) | Fixed fare to downtown, dispatcher at the door, no booking | One or two people, light bags |
| YUL limousine kiosk, Door 24 | Sedan from C$85, SUV from C$104 | Booked on arrival only, estimated wait given at the kiosk | Walk-up arrivals wanting a larger car |
| STM 747 bus | C$11.25 per person, valid 24 hours on bus and metro | 24/7, 30 to 70 minutes depending on route | Solo budget travel |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$120 fixed, all-in | Pre-booked, meet and greet inside arrivals, flight tracking | Late flights, meetings, guaranteed pickup |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$315 fixed, all-in | One vehicle for up to 12 with 12 bags | Groups |
The YUL taxi page also lists metered rates for destinations outside downtown: by day C$4.10 to start, C$2.05 per kilometre and C$0.77 per minute, with a C$21.65 minimum; by night C$4.70, C$2.35 per kilometre and C$0.89 per minute, with a C$24.75 minimum. Our YUL taxi guide goes through those numbers in detail.
The honest verdict. For one traveller with a carry-on landing at 2 p.m., the Door 23 taxi or the 747 bus is cheaper, and the airport's own kiosk limousine is a fair walk-up option for someone who just wants a bigger car. A pre-booked chauffeur is worth paying for when:
- your flight lands late at night and you want the car waiting rather than a kiosk queue;
- you have a family, child seats or more bags than a taxi can take;
- you are heading straight to a meeting and want a named driver and a fixed time;
- a company needs the fare fixed in advance and billed to an account;
- you are going beyond downtown, to Tremblant, Ottawa or Quebec City, where a meter or an on-the-day quote would apply.
Departing from YUL by limo
Fares are the same fixed price in either direction. Give the chauffeur your airline and destination so the drop-off is at the right door.
Flights to the United States. YUL's US customs page explains that travellers to the US go through pre-clearance after security, meaning a US Customs and Border Protection officer inspects you at YUL before you board. Members of NEXUS and Global Entry have their own line, and Mobile Passport Control gives a free priority line. Because pre-clearance happens in Montreal, the desk suggests leaving downtown at least three hours before a US departure on a weekday afternoon.
Peak-hour drop-offs. YUL's rideshare page notes that between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. drivers can use the express drop-off areas at P4 and P10 to avoid congestion on the main drop-off ramp. If the departures ramp is jammed, the chauffeur may suggest one of these.
Roadwork. The airport is building a station for the REM light rail, and its current notice says the arrivals drop-off area is closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays until December 19, with traffic sent to the departures ramp. The desk watches these notices so you do not have to.
Delegations, teams and VIP arrivals
Larger arrivals need a little more planning than a single pickup, and YUL's single arrivals level makes the meeting simple once the plan is set.
One lead contact. Give the desk the name and mobile number of the person who will gather the group in the arrivals hall. The chauffeur coordinates with that one person rather than with everyone.
Every flight number. When a team arrives on several flights, the desk tracks each one and holds the vehicle for the last arrival, or splits the group across two vehicles if the gap is long.
The right mix of vehicles. An Executive Sprinter moves up to 12 with 12 bags for US$315 to downtown. A principal travelling separately can take a First Class Sedan at US$210, with the team following in the Sprinter.
Names on the board. For a delegation, the board can show the organisation's name rather than an individual's. Tell us what it should say, and whether discretion matters; NDAs are available on request.
For congress groups heading to the Palais des congres, our conference transportation page covers staggered pickups.
Booking tips from the desk
- Book the round trip together. YUL to downtown and back starts at US$230 in a Business Sedan, booked as one.
- Name the lead passenger. The name board shows one name; tell us whose it should be, and share a mobile number that works in Canada.
- List every bag and every child. It is the single most common reason a car is too small.
- Ask for a French-speaking or bilingual chauffeur if it matters to you. Montreal is a French-speaking city where English is widely used in hotels and business; tell the desk when you book and we will say what we can arrange for your date.
- Going further? The YUL to Mont-Tremblant pedestrian village fare is US$350 in a Business Sedan to US$910 in an Executive Sprinter; see Mont-Tremblant car service. For Ottawa or Quebec City, use the web booker or see Ottawa and Quebec City.
Rides in Montreal are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo from YUL to downtown Montreal?
Elly8.net fares are US$120 in a Business Sedan, US$160 in a Business SUV, US$195 in a First Class SUV, US$210 in a First Class Sedan and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in per vehicle. The airport's own kiosk limousine lists sedans from C$85 and SUVs from C$104, booked on arrival only.
Where do I meet my chauffeur at YUL?
Inside the arrivals hall, after customs and baggage claim, where the chauffeur waits with a name board. You get the chauffeur's contact details before you fly. If you cannot see the board, message the chauffeur rather than leaving the hall.
How long will the chauffeur wait?
The desk tracks your flight and the chauffeur works to the actual landing time, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing to cover a normal customs and baggage wait. If you are held up for longer, message the chauffeur; extra waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost.
How many bags fit in each car?
A Business or First Class Sedan takes up to 3 passengers and 2 standard bags. A Business or First Class SUV takes up to 6 and 6 bags. An Executive Sprinter takes up to 12 and 12 bags. Note skis, golf bags and strollers in the booking.
Can I book the airport's own limousine in advance?
No. YUL says its limousine service is booked on site at the Door 24 kiosk and cannot be booked before arrival. If you want a fixed price and a named chauffeur waiting before you land, book a pre-arranged car such as Elly8.net.
Do you offer child seats at YUL?
Yes, on request. Give each child's age and weight when you book, and the right seats are fitted before pickup. A Business SUV gives room for seats, a stroller and family luggage together, and seats are installed before the chauffeur heads to the airport.
