Yes, Uber operates in Seville. The company's Seville city guide covers rides across the city and to and from Seville Airport (SVQ), and its airport pages list a range of ride options, from standard cars to taxis and vans, with a scheduled-ride feature called Uber Reserve. For a couple with carry-on bags going from a Triana hotel to a dinner in the Alameda on an ordinary Tuesday, an app ride is usually quick and fairly priced.
The questions North American visitors should ask are narrower: how much the price moves when the whole city wants a car at once, what happens at the airport when several flights land together, and what a fixed alternative costs. Seville's taxis charge a regulated flat fare from the airport of €26 or €29, the airport bus costs €6 a person, and an Elly8.net transfer to the Santa Cruz quarter costs from US$95 in a business sedan, fixed in US dollars. This guide sets out each option fairly.
Does Uber work at Seville Airport?
Yes. Uber's own SVQ pages describe on-demand pickups and scheduled pickups through Uber Reserve, bookable up to 90 days ahead with flight tracking. After landing you request the ride and the app gives step-by-step directions to the pickup point. Prices shown in advance are estimates unless you lock them in with Reserve.
Uber's SVQ pickup page explains the process. You request a ride once you are through arrivals, and the app shows walking directions to the meeting point; Uber says the general map may not match where you need to meet the driver, so follow the instructions shown after you request. If you have already reserved, you open the app to find your driver.
The same page describes Uber Reserve for airport pickups: up to 90 days ahead, flight tracking that notifies you of cancellations or significant delays, and a locked-in price that, in Uber's words, lets you avoid surge pricing, subject to its terms. Reserved trips can be cancelled free until one hour before pickup, or if no driver has accepted the trip. Uber also notes that the ride options listed are a sample and that some may not be available in every city, so check the app for what you can actually request in Seville on your dates.
What Uber does not do is send someone into the arrivals hall with your name. You walk to the pickup point with your bags and look for the car.

Surge pricing: when Seville's prices move
On-demand app prices are set at the moment you request and rise when demand outruns the cars available. Uber's own airport page frames Reserve as the way to "lock in your price and avoid surge pricing", which tells you the on-demand price is not fixed. In Seville, demand spikes are predictable:
- Semana Santa. In 2027, Holy Week runs up to Easter Sunday on 28 March. Processions close much of the historic centre day and night, and everyone needs a car to the edge of the closures at the same moment.
- The Feria de Abril. The April Fair follows Easter, usually beginning about two weeks after it, and the fairground in Los Remedios empties in the small hours.
- Big match and concert nights. Seville has two major football clubs, and events at the Estadio de La Cartuja also draw large crowds.
- Friday and Saturday nights, and the first flights out. Early-morning departures and late returns from the bars are when cars are thinnest on the ground.
On an ordinary weekday afternoon, none of this matters, and the app price is likely to be reasonable. On those nights, both the price and the wait can move a long way.
What the official alternatives cost
Seville is unusual in publishing a flat taxi fare for the airport run, which makes a fair comparison easy. These numbers come from Seville Airport's taxi page and bus page, run by the airport operator Aena.
| Option | Price | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seville taxi, flat airport fare | €26 weekdays 07:00 to 21:00; €29 at night, weekends, holidays, Holy Week and Feria daytime | Rank outside arrivals, no luggage or night supplements on the airport run | Two to four people with normal luggage |
| Tussam EA airport bus | €6 single, €8 return on the day of purchase, per person | City bus to stops in the centre; card payment on board | Solo travellers with light bags |
| Uber, on demand | Set in the app at the time of request | Walk to the app pickup point | Light travellers on ordinary days |
| Uber Reserve | Price locked when you reserve | Scheduled pickup with flight tracking | App users who want a set price |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$95 per vehicle, fixed, all-in | Chauffeur in arrivals with a name board | Families, groups, Holy Week, Feria, late flights |
The airport page states that city taxis apply the flat airport fare for all trips between the airport and the city, with no supplements for suitcases, for departing from Santa Justa station, or for nights and weekends beyond the higher Fare 5 itself. Fare 5 covers weekday nights, weekends and public holidays all day, 24 and 31 December, Holy Week from 07:00 to 21:00 and the Feria from 07:00 to 20:00. The EA bus runs from the airport into the city from 04:30 to 00:05, and towards the airport from 05:22 to 01:00, according to the same source.
Read honestly, those numbers favour the taxi for an ordinary trip. Two travellers with two cases pay €26 or €29 for the whole car, and the taxi rank is outside the door. A solo traveller with a backpack does well on the bus. We say the same on the Seville city page and in our wider chauffeur vs taxi guide.
When the pre-booked car wins
Elly8.net fares are per vehicle, fixed before you travel and charged in US dollars, so the number does not move with the calendar. An SVQ transfer to the Santa Cruz quarter costs US$95 in a Business Sedan, US$125 in a Business SUV, US$155 in a First Class SUV, US$170 in a First Class Sedan and US$250 in an Executive Sprinter, the same price in either direction. A round trip costs from US$185 to US$475. The chauffeur tracks your flight and waits in arrivals with a name board; waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary.
That is worth paying for in a specific set of situations:
- Late connections. Most North Americans reach Seville through Madrid, Barcelona or Lisbon. When the connection runs late, the chauffeur is still there; a reserved app ride may or may not still be on its way.
- Families and car seats. Child seats are available on request and fitted before pickup. A Business SUV takes six passengers and six large bags as one vehicle.
- Groups. Eight friends with luggage need two or three taxis or app cars. One Executive Sprinter carries twelve passengers and twelve bags at a single fixed price.
- Holy Week and Feria. The chauffeur meets you at an agreed point outside the closures, booked weeks ahead, rather than competing with the whole city for a car.
- A hotel in the lanes. Many Santa Cruz hotels sit on lanes cars cannot enter. The desk plans the nearest permitted drop-off and the walk before you land, and the chauffeur helps with the bags.
- Corporate travel. One invoice in US dollars, fixed fares and NDAs on request through a corporate account.

Getting around Seville after the airport
Inside the city the decision is different again. The historic core is compact and much of it is best on foot, so most visitors use taxis or app rides for a few longer hops, to Triana, the Plaza de España or a restaurant across the river. A chauffeur by the hour, from US$85 in a business sedan with a 3-hour minimum, makes sense for a day that strings several stops together, for an evening with a fixed time to leave, or for a multi-meeting business day. Our companion guide, Seville taxi vs Uber vs private car, works through those in-city choices one by one.
For a day out of the city, app rides are not a practical option: a driver who waits while you visit a bodega in Jerez or the Mezquita in Córdoba is what a full-day chauffeur provides, from US$630 in a business sedan. Our guides to the Seville to Córdoba transfer and a Seville day trip with a private driver cover those days.
If you do use an app in Seville: practical tips
App rides are a perfectly good tool in Seville when you use them with the city's quirks in mind.
Check your data plan before you land. The app needs a connection in the arrivals hall to request the car and show you the meeting point. A roaming pass or a travel eSIM set up at home saves a scramble for Wi-Fi with bags in hand.
Request from where a car can reach you. Large parts of Santa Cruz and the streets around the Cathedral are closed to general traffic or too narrow for a car. Walk to a wider street, such as the edge of the Avenida de la Constitución area or the riverfront, before requesting, and the pickup will be quicker.
During Holy Week, plan around the processions. Routes change by the hour and some streets are blocked for long periods. Requesting a car inside the closures can mean a long wait and a long walk. Pick a meeting point on the outer edge of the centre.
Match the car to the bags. A standard car takes fewer large suitcases than visitors from North America tend to expect. If there are four of you with full-size cases, request a larger vehicle option if the app offers one, or take a taxi from the rank.
Check the plate before you get in. The app shows the car and the registration. Confirm both, and the driver's name, before loading the luggage.
Uber Black vs a chauffeur
Some visitors ask whether a premium app option is the same as a chauffeur. Uber's SVQ pages list a Black option among the ride choices, though availability varies. The difference is less about the car than the service around it: a premium app ride is still requested in the app and met at the app pickup point, priced at the time of request unless reserved, while a pre-booked chauffeur is assigned to your booking, tracks your flight and meets you inside. Our Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur comparison covers the trade-offs, and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft the broader case.
Booking a Seville transfer
- Pickup and drop-off. Enter SVQ and your flight number, or Santa Justa and your train, and the hotel.
- Vehicle. Choose by passengers and large bags; the fleet page lists seats and luggage for each class.
- Reserve. Published fares go straight to checkout in US$, and any other address goes through the web booker at a fixed price. Confirmation arrives by email.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% applies at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card.
Rides in Seville are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Travelling on to the islands? Our guide to Uber in Mykonos explains how app rides work very differently there. Nearby, the same service runs in Marbella and Málaga, Madrid and Lisbon.
Frequently asked questions
Is Uber available in Seville?
Yes. Uber operates in Seville and at Seville Airport, with on-demand rides and scheduled rides through Uber Reserve. The options available on a given day are shown in the app; Uber notes that not every ride type listed on its pages is available in every city.
How much is a taxi from Seville Airport to the city?
City taxis charge a flat airport fare: €26 on weekdays between 07:00 and 21:00, and €29 at night, at weekends, on public holidays and during the daytime in Holy Week and the Feria, according to Aena. The airport run carries no luggage or station supplements.
Does Uber surge in Seville?
On-demand app prices are set at the time of request and rise with demand. Uber presents Reserve as a way to lock in a price and avoid surge pricing. Expect the biggest swings during Semana Santa, the Feria, big match nights and late weekend nights.
Where do I meet an Uber at Seville Airport?
At the pickup point shown in the app after you request the ride. Uber says the general airport map may not match the exact meeting point, so follow the step-by-step directions in the app. An Elly8.net chauffeur, by contrast, waits inside arrivals with a name board.
How much is a pre-booked car from Seville Airport?
An Elly8.net transfer from SVQ to the Santa Cruz quarter costs from US$95 in a business sedan to US$250 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle, fixed and charged in US dollars. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet; parking is billed at cost.
Is the airport bus a good option?
For one person with light bags, yes. The Tussam EA line costs €6 one way or €8 for a return used on the same day, and runs from early morning until after midnight. For two or more people, the €26 to €29 flat taxi fare usually makes more sense.
