A Rolls-Royce car for a wedding does one job beautifully: it carries the couple, or one parent and the person getting married, to and from the moments that will be photographed. Through Elly8.net it is booked for two passengers and two bags, priced for your date, venues and hours in the web booker, and paid as one all-in price per vehicle. Everything else on the day, the wedding party, the parents and the guests, travels in vehicles built for more people.
So the planning question is not only "can we have a Rolls-Royce?" but "what is the Rolls-Royce for, and what carries everyone else?" This guide answers both, with a timeline, sample days, the fixed prices you can budget around and the questions to ask before you sign any wedding car contract. For VIP arrivals, anniversaries and private-jet pickups, see the companion guide to a Rolls Royce with chauffeur.
How far in advance should you book a Rolls-Royce wedding car?
As soon as the date and venues are fixed. Chauffeured Rolls-Royces are few in any city, and Saturdays in wedding season go first. Booking early also keeps you inside the free cancellation window for longer: on Elly8.net, cancelling more than 72 hours before pickup is free, then 10%, 50% and 100% as the day approaches.
Most couples book the wedding car alongside the photographer and florist, once the ceremony and reception venues are confirmed. There is no advantage in waiting: availability only shrinks, and the cancellation terms do not start to bite until 72 hours before pickup.
Decide what the Rolls-Royce is for
There are three classic uses, and most weddings choose one or two:
- The arrival. The car collects the bride or groom, often with a parent, from the place where they got ready, and arrives at the ceremony at the planned minute.
- The departure. After the ceremony, the couple leave together in the Rolls-Royce for photographs or the reception. This is the moment most couples picture.
- The getaway. At the end of the night, the car takes the couple to their hotel or home.
Using the car for all three means keeping it most of the day. Using it for one or two lets you book fewer hours and spend the difference elsewhere. A common middle path is the arrival and the departure, with a First Class Sedan or the same Rolls-Royce recalled for the getaway.
Seats, dresses and why two is the number
The fleet page lists the Rolls-Royce for two passengers and two bags, and that is how the desk books it. On a wedding day, two is genuinely the right number. A full gown takes the space of another passenger, the photographer wants clean shots of two people, and the car is about the moment rather than the transport.
If three people must travel together, for example a bride with both parents, book a second car for the parents or choose a larger vehicle for that leg. The wedding party never fits in a Rolls-Royce; they need their own vehicle.
The vehicles for everyone else
These are the vehicles couples usually pair with the wedding car:
| Who | Vehicle | Capacity | How it is priced |
|---|---|---|---|
| The couple, or a parent and the bride or groom | Rolls-Royce | 2 passengers, 2 bags | Web booker, per vehicle |
| Wedding party of up to 8 | Stretch Limousine | 8 passengers, 2 bags | Web booker, per vehicle |
| Wedding party or guest shuttle of up to 12 | Executive Sprinter | 12 passengers, 12 bags | Fixed, from US$170 an hour |
| A big wedding party in one vehicle | Stretch SUV Limousine | 16 passengers, 2 bags | Web booker, per vehicle |
| Parents and grandparents | Business SUV | 6 passengers, 6 bags | Fixed, from US$110 an hour |
| The couple's getaway, if not the Rolls-Royce | First Class Sedan | 3 passengers, 2 bags | Fixed, from US$140 an hour |
The fixed figures above are the lowest published hourly rates across our cities. In North America they are higher: in New York, for instance, the Executive Sprinter is US$210 an hour, the Business SUV US$135 and the First Class Sedan US$170, each with a 3-hour minimum. For a large guest list, our guide to group transportation shows how to combine vehicles so guests arrive together, and the wedding transportation page explains how the desk coordinates the day.
Count the hours properly
Most wedding transport overspending comes from counting the wrong hours. Count from the first pickup to the last drop-off for each vehicle, including the drive between venues and the time the car waits.
For the Rolls-Royce on an arrival-and-departure plan: pickup at the getting-ready location, the drive to the ceremony, the ceremony itself, photographs, and the drive to the reception. In a city with long crosstown drives, that is often 3 to 5 hours.
For the wedding party vehicle: the same window, plus any extra pickups.
For the guest shuttle: two runs, hotel to ceremony and ceremony to reception, and a late run back to the hotel. Keeping a Sprinter all evening is simpler; booking it twice is cheaper if the gap is long.
Hourly bookings on the Elly8.net price list have a 3-hour minimum, and you can choose up to 12 hours at checkout. Waiting beyond the booked time is billed at cost, so build a buffer of half an hour to an hour for photographs that run long.
Three sample days
A Manhattan wedding, ceremony and reception in different boroughs. The Rolls-Royce collects the bride and her father from the hotel and carries the couple from the ceremony to photographs and the reception: priced in the booker for about 5 hours. An Executive Sprinter takes the wedding party of ten along the same route for 6 hours, US$1,260 at New York's US$210 hourly rate. A Business SUV for the parents for 5 hours adds US$675. The fixed parts of the day come to US$1,935 before the Rolls-Royce is priced.
A Las Vegas wedding with a courthouse licence. In Clark County, Nevada, the County Clerk's marriage licence page states there is no waiting period and that a licence costs US$102. Couples often build the day around a short ceremony and dinner, which suits the Rolls-Royce for the couple and a Business SUV for family. In Las Vegas the Business SUV is US$120 an hour, or US$600 for the 5-hour evening package. The city's official tourism authority, the LVCVA, is a useful starting point for venues.
A city hall wedding in New York. The Office of the City Clerk says the Marriage Bureau works by appointment only, booked through Project Cupid, with no walk-ins. Appointments keep the day short and predictable: the Rolls-Royce brings the couple to the appointment and on to lunch or a celebration, often in 3 hours. A First Class Sedan for close family for the same 3 hours is US$510 in New York.
For the full New York and Las Vegas price lists, see the New York prices panel and the Las Vegas city page.
A planning timeline
When the venues are confirmed. Send the desk the date, the getting-ready locations, the ceremony and reception venues, rough timings and guest numbers. Choose the vehicles and book them together, so they are coordinated on one plan.
Six to eight weeks before. Confirm the run of the day with your planner and photographer. Share it with the desk, especially any photo stops between the ceremony and reception.
Two weeks before. Final guest numbers for the shuttles. Confirm addresses, including the exact entrance at each venue, and any venue rules for vehicles.
The week of the wedding. Check the weather plan. If photographs are moving indoors, the car's timing moves with them. Share the chauffeur contact arrangements with the planner, not the couple.
On the day. One person, usually the planner or a trusted friend, is the contact for every vehicle. The couple should not be answering calls about cars.
Questions to ask before signing any wedding car contract
- Which Rolls-Royce, and which year? The exact model depends on the licensed partner in your city. Ask for the model, the year and a photograph of the actual car.
- What is included? On Elly8.net, the price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes and a standard gratuity. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the booked time are billed at cost.
- When does the clock start? At the first pickup, or when the car leaves its base?
- What if the day runs late? How is extra time billed, and is the car available to stay?
- Is the price per vehicle? Elly8.net prices are always per vehicle.
- What are the cancellation terms? In hours and percentages, in writing.
- Is the operator licensed and commercially insured? For a Rolls-Royce through Elly8.net, partner vehicles of this marque are seven model years old or newer.
- Ribbons, decorations and signs? Ask before you plan them. Some owners restrict what can be attached to the car; the desk confirms with the partner.
On drinks: rules on alcohol in hired vehicles differ by city, state and country, and the chauffeur follows the local rules. If a toast in the car is part of your plan, ask the desk what applies where you are marrying.
If you are budgeting for thank-yous, our guide on tipping a limo driver explains why a standard gratuity is already included in every Elly8.net price.
Destination weddings and the guests who fly in
Many weddings now draw guests from several cities, and the car plan starts at the airport rather than the hotel. Guests landing on Thursday and Friday need transfers; the wedding party may need a Sprinter for a rehearsal dinner; and older relatives appreciate a car that is waiting for them inside arrivals rather than an app pickup in a busy zone.
Elly8.net airport fares are fixed and the same in either direction, with meet and greet and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. In New York, a Business Sedan from JFK to Midtown Manhattan costs US$210 and a Business SUV US$275; in Las Vegas, from Harry Reid International to the Strip, US$125 and US$165. Booking the guest transfers alongside the wedding cars puts the whole weekend on one plan, and one desk knows who is arriving when. For destination weddings in Europe, the same applies in Rome, Florence, Lake Como and our other cities, each with its own fixed fares.
A planner or a family member who handles the guest list is usually the best person to hold these bookings, so the couple are not answering questions about a late Friday arrival on the eve of the wedding.
Weather, photographs and the small details
Couples remember the small things that went right. Three are worth planning:
- Rain. Ask the chauffeur to have umbrellas ready, and agree where the car stops so the walk to the door is shortest.
- Photographs. Tell your photographer when the car arrives and where it will stop. A two-minute pause at the car for pictures is usually built into the timing, not added on.
- The getaway. If the couple leave late, decide in advance whether the Rolls-Royce stays all evening or a fresh car collects them. Recalling a car at a set time is often cheaper than keeping one waiting for hours.
Who drives
Toronto and the GTA run on the Elly8 fleet and chauffeurs. In every other city, rides are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Elly8.net is a member of LimousineWorldwide.Directory, LimousineAssociation.International, HotelsWorldwide.Directory and VacationsWorldwide.Directory. For wedding guests' flights and hotels, our travel partner is BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the cars.
How to book
- Enter the first pickup and the venues in the web booker.
- Choose the Rolls-Royce and the hours, then add the wedding party and family vehicles. For an Executive Sprinter, the Sprinter van with driver page explains capacities and hourly booking.
- Reserve. Every total appears before you confirm, and the confirmation arrives by email. Add notes for photo stops and venue entrances.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a Rolls-Royce wedding car?
It is priced for your date, venues and hours in the web booker, because availability differs by city and Saturday demand is high. The price is all-in per vehicle, with chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity included. Budget the other vehicles from fixed prices, such as a New York Executive Sprinter at US$210 an hour.
How many hours should we book the wedding car?
Count from the first pickup to the last drop-off for that car, including drives between venues and waiting during the ceremony and photographs. An arrival-and-departure plan is often 3 to 5 hours. Add a buffer, because waiting beyond the booked time is billed at cost.
How many people fit in a Rolls-Royce wedding car?
Elly8.net books the Rolls-Royce for two passengers and two bags. A full wedding dress uses the space of another passenger, so plan two people per trip. Book a stretch limousine, Sprinter or SUV for the wedding party and family, timed to arrive with the couple.
Can we choose the exact Rolls-Royce model?
You can ask, and the desk confirms what the licensed partner in your city can provide for your date before you pay. Partner Rolls-Royces are seven model years old or newer. Ask for a photograph of the actual car rather than a brochure image.
Is gratuity included in the wedding car price?
Yes. Every Elly8.net price includes a standard gratuity, along with the chauffeur, the vehicle and taxes. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the booked time are billed at cost. An envelope for the chauffeur at the end of the night is optional, not expected.
What happens if the wedding is postponed?
Cancellation terms apply: free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. Contact the desk as early as possible to move or cancel.
