A car service from NYC is usually one of three trips: Manhattan to an airport, Manhattan to somewhere outside the city, or a car that stays with you for part of the day. Elly8.net prices all three in advance. From Midtown, LaGuardia starts at US$145 in a business sedan, JFK at US$210 and Newark at US$215; a car by the hour starts at US$105 with a 3-hour minimum, and the 10-hour Hamptons day trip starts at US$970.
Choosing well comes down to four questions: where you are going, how many people and bags are travelling, whether the car needs to wait, and what is happening on the streets that day. This guide takes them in turn. Rides in New York City are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much does a car service from NYC cost?
From Midtown Manhattan, a fixed Elly8.net car costs from US$145 to LaGuardia, US$170 to Teterboro, US$210 to JFK and US$215 to Newark in a business sedan. By the hour it is from US$105, 3-hour minimum. Prices are all-in per vehicle; tolls and parking are billed at cost.
The published prices below are per vehicle, with the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet included. The trips are priced in both directions, so the same numbers apply to the ride out to the airport and the ride back.
| Trip from Midtown | Business Sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter | Clear-road drive |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LaGuardia (LGA) | US$145 | US$190 | US$380 | about 17 min |
| Teterboro (TEB) | US$170 | US$225 | US$445 | about 25 min |
| JFK International | US$210 | US$275 | US$550 | about 29 min |
| Newark Liberty (EWR) | US$215 | US$280 | US$560 | about 34 min |
| By the hour, as directed | US$105 per hour | US$135 per hour | US$210 per hour | 3-hour minimum |
| The Hamptons day trip | US$970 | US$1,245 | US$1,935 | 10 hours |
First Class sedans and SUVs are on the same list, for example JFK from US$370 in a First Class Sedan and US$340 in a First Class SUV. Every published price is on the New York car service page and the prices and packages page; any other address is priced in the web booker.

Which airport from which part of the city
The cheapest airport on the price list is not always the right one. Where you start in the city often decides it.
- Upper East Side, Midtown East, Harlem. LaGuardia is usually closest, via the RFK Bridge or the Queens-Midtown Tunnel.
- Midtown West, Hudson Yards, Upper West Side. Newark is often easy through the Lincoln Tunnel, and LaGuardia is a short run too.
- Tribeca, SoHo, the Financial District. Newark through the Holland Tunnel is often the smooth option.
- Brooklyn and much of Queens. JFK is usually the natural airport.
- Private flights. Teterboro in New Jersey is the main business aviation airport for Manhattan; give the tail number and FBO and see private jet and FBO transfers.
Of course, your airline decides most of this. For step-by-step guides to the arrival side of each run, read EWR to NYC by private car and our LGA car service guide.
Out of the city: weekends, suburbs and other cities
Not every car service from NYC goes to an airport. These are the trips out of town we book most.
The Hamptons. The signature 10-hour day trip from Manhattan, Southampton, East Hampton and Sag Harbor and back, starts at US$970 in a business sedan and US$1,935 in an Executive Sprinter. For one-way summer weekend runs and arrivals, the Hamptons car service page lists, for example, JFK to East Hampton from US$585 in a business sedan.
Westchester and Greenwich. Corporate campuses, private schools and Westchester County Airport; see the Westchester and Greenwich car service page.
Connecticut, Rhode Island and Boston. Longer runs to Hartford, Providence or Boston are priced in the booker as city to city rides.
Philadelphia and Atlantic City. South down the New Jersey Turnpike; see the Philadelphia car service and Atlantic City limo service pages.
Shopping and day trips. Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, about 50 miles (80 km) north of Manhattan, is a popular group day; four to six shoppers with bags fit one business SUV.
For any of these, city to city car service explains how long one-way trips are priced and scheduled. A chauffeured car often beats the train for families and groups once you count the taxis at both ends.
How to choose the right booking type
The booking type matters as much as the vehicle. Use this as a quick guide.
| Your plan | Book this | Starts at, business sedan |
|---|---|---|
| One trip, A to B | One-way transfer | US$145 (Midtown to LGA) |
| Out to the airport and back later | Round trip | US$280 (LGA), US$400 (JFK) |
| Several stops, car waits between | By the hour, as directed | US$105 per hour, 3-hour minimum |
| A whole day of meetings or sightseeing | Full-day chauffeur | US$775 |
| Investor or sales meetings to a fixed schedule | Corporate roadshow day | US$945 |
| Dinner, a show and the ride home | Evening out and event night | US$525 |
| The sights with a chauffeur-guide route | Private city highlights tour | US$420 |
The most common mistake is booking three or four one-way rides for a day that really needs a car waiting outside. Once the car would be waiting between stops, hourly or full-day pricing is usually cheaper and always easier. Our NYC private driver guide works through the numbers.
Choosing the vehicle: class, seats and bags
Every vehicle class on the price list has a capacity, from the fleet page:
- Business Sedan: up to 3 passengers and 2 bags. The everyday airport car.
- Business SUV: up to 6 passengers and 6 bags. Families, checked luggage, strollers and golf bags.
- First Class Sedan and First Class SUV: the same capacities in a higher class of vehicle, for executives, VIP guests and occasions.
- Executive Sprinter: up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. Teams, wedding parties and families travelling together.
Beyond the price list, the web booker also offers a Jet Sprinter, Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine, stretch SUV, party bus and electric sedan, priced by trip. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, or seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley. For a night out by limousine, read NYC limo transportation; for groups, the NYC Sprinter van rental guide.
Timing an airport departure from the city
The clear-road times on the price table are the floor, not the plan. Three things decide how early the car should come.
The day and the hour. Weekday afternoons are the slowest time to leave Manhattan in any direction: the tunnel approaches to Newark, the Van Wyck to JFK and the Grand Central Parkway to LaGuardia all build from mid-afternoon. A Sunday morning departure is a different trip.
The airport and the terminal. JFK roadways change with construction, and Newark security lines differ by terminal. Give the airline and terminal when you book, so the chauffeur goes straight to the right door.
The flight. International departures need more time at the airport than a shuttle flight to Boston or Washington.
When you book, the desk suggests a pickup time for your flight, day and starting point. If a closure or a game is scheduled that day, we tell you and move the time earlier. It is always cheaper to leave 30 minutes early than to rebook a missed flight.
Pickup in Manhattan: making it smooth
Doorman buildings and hotels. Give the building name and the entrance. The chauffeur messages when the car is outside; being in the lobby at the pickup time keeps a busy curb moving.
Avenue side, not side street. On crowded cross streets the chauffeur often waits on the avenue corner. You will get the exact spot by message.
Multi-stop pickups. Collecting a colleague on the way to JFK? Add the stop when you book; it is part of the price shown.
Child seats. Available on request; give the number and type and they are installed before pickup.
Taxi, app or pre-booked car from Manhattan?
For a single traveller with a carry-on, a yellow cab is often the right choice, and New York's taxi rules are clear. Under the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission fare rules, a yellow cab between Manhattan and JFK is a US$70 flat fare plus a US$0.50 MTA surcharge, a US$1.00 improvement surcharge, the US$2.50 congestion surcharge south of 96th Street, the US$0.75 congestion pricing toll south of 60th Street, US$5.00 on weekdays from 4 pm to 8 pm, tolls and tip. To LaGuardia it is the standard meter plus a US$5.00 surcharge; to Newark, the meter plus a US$20.00 Newark surcharge and the driver's return tolls.
App rides are priced at the moment you request, and early-morning departures on a wet day can cost more than a fixed car. A pre-booked car wins when you need certainty: a 5 am departure, a family with child seats, three or more travellers, a company budget, or a schedule with no slack. See chauffeur vs taxi and Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur for the detail.
Days when New York changes the plan
A handful of dates close avenues and bridges and fill every vehicle in the city. Book early around them and add margin for airport runs.
- The TCS New York City Marathon, Sunday November 1, 2026, closes bridges and avenues in all five boroughs.
- The 100th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Thursday November 26, 2026, runs from Central Park West at 77th Street to Herald Square.
- New Year's Eve in Times Square brings street closures and security zones around Times Square on December 31.
- UN General Assembly high-level week, every September, brings security zones and motorcades to the East Side; see the United Nations General Assembly site and our government and delegation transportation service.
For what is on at any time of year, the official New York City tourism site is a good reference, and our event transportation page covers galas, concerts and games.
How booking works
- Pickup and drop-off. Enter the Manhattan address and the destination; for airports, give the airline and terminal, and for the return leg, the flight number.
- Vehicle and extras. Choose by passengers and bags; add child seats, extra stops or waiting time.
- Pay. Reserve now on any published price, or use the web booker for any other address. Confirmation comes by email, and chauffeur details follow before pickup.
Companies can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing. Elly8.net books the car only; for flights and hotels, our travel partner is BookingWorldwide.net.
