Austin is a city of group weekends. Conference teams fly in for SXSW, friends come for a race at Circuit of The Americas or a weekend of ACL Festival, and wedding parties head out to the lake or the Hill Country. For seven to twelve people with bags, a chauffeured Sprinter keeps the group in one vehicle and puts a driver who knows the closures in charge of the drop-offs.
Elly8.net books Austin Sprinters at fixed, all-in prices: US$190 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, US$315 one way from Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) to downtown, US$950 for the evening out and event night package and US$1,750 for a 10-hour Hill Country winery day. This is a chauffeured service, not a self-drive van. This guide explains what you get, what each booking costs and how to choose between a Sprinter and other vehicles.
How much does a Sprinter van rental cost in Austin?
An Elly8.net Executive Sprinter with a chauffeur in Austin costs US$190 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, US$315 one way from AUS to downtown, US$950 for the evening out and event night package and US$1,400 for a full day, per vehicle, including the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity.
The full list is on the Austin fares panel. Shared by a full van of twelve, the numbers look like this:
| Sprinter booking | Price, all-in | Per person, 12 travelling |
|---|---|---|
| AUS to downtown Austin, one way | US$315 | about US$26 |
| AUS round trip | US$600 | US$50 |
| By the hour (3-hour minimum) | US$190 an hour; US$570 minimum | about US$48 for three hours |
| Private city highlights tour | US$760 | about US$63 |
| Evening out and event night | US$950 | about US$79 |
| Full-day chauffeur | US$1,400 | about US$117 |
| Corporate roadshow day | US$1,710 | about US$143 |
| Hill Country wineries, Fredericksburg, 10 hours | US$1,750 | about US$146 |
Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. For any address not on the list, such as a Lake Travis venue or a house in the Hill Country, the web booker shows a fixed price before you pay.
What an Executive Sprinter is, and what it is not
An Executive Sprinter is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter fitted for passenger comfort: forward-facing seats for up to 12, a high roof, and room for up to 12 bags. It is driven by a professional chauffeur who waits at each stop, and it is four model years old or newer. Rides in Austin are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
It is not a self-drive rental, and it is not a party bus. If you want lighting, perimeter seating and a sound system, look at party bus rental. For a smaller VIP group, the Jet Sprinter seats up to 6 in captain's chairs and is priced in the booker. The Sprinter van with driver page and the fleet page cover every class.
How to choose: Sprinter, two SUVs or something else
| Group | Best booking | Austin rate | When it wins |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 3 | Business Sedan | US$95 an hour; AUS to downtown US$120 | solo trips and couples |
| 4 to 6 | Business SUV | US$120 an hour; AUS to downtown US$160 | families and small teams with bags |
| 7 to 12, staying together | Executive Sprinter | US$190 an hour | one plan for the whole group |
| 7 to 12, splitting up | two Business SUVs | US$240 an hour combined | two schedules at once |
| 4 to 6, VIP | Jet Sprinter | quoted in the booker | meetings on the move |
The Sprinter is cheaper per hour than two SUVs and keeps everyone together. Two SUVs make sense when half the group heads to a conference session while the other half goes to lunch. A quick test: if the group will be in the same place at every stop, book the Sprinter.
The Austin trips Sprinters are made for
Group arrivals at AUS
All airline service at Austin-Bergstrom runs through the Barbara Jordan Terminal. The airport directs rideshare and taxi pickups to a zone under the Consolidated Rental Car Facility, behind the Red Garage (AUS ground transportation). A group of ten splitting into three app rides walks there with all its bags and waits three times.
With a Sprinter, the chauffeur tracks the flight, meets the group inside by baggage claim with a name board, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included. AUS to downtown is about 8 miles (13 km), roughly 14 minutes on a clear road, at US$315 fixed. The same fare applies on the way back to the airport. See airport transfers and meet and greet.
The honest alternative for a solo traveller is the bus: CapMetro's high-frequency Route 20 serves the airport, and a local single ride is US$1.25, with fares changing on January 10, 2027 (CapMetro fares). For one person with a backpack, it is hard to beat.
SXSW
SXSW runs March 15-21, 2027. Sessions, showcases and private events spread across downtown, East Austin and the Rainey district, and many streets close to traffic. A Sprinter on an hourly or full-day booking moves a team between venues, with the chauffeur and the desk agreeing drop-off and pickup points that work around closures. A full day is US$1,400; book as soon as your SXSW dates are set, because Sprinters are among the first vehicles to sell out.
Race days at COTA
Circuit of The Americas in southeast Austin hosts the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in the autumn, along with MotoGP, NASCAR and concerts at its amphitheater. Race days bring some of the heaviest traffic in the region. A Sprinter for a hospitality group follows the circuit's published arrangements for drop-off and pickup, waits through the day and brings the group back to the hotel. For race weekends, an hourly booking with generous margin is more practical than a one-way ride, because the trip back is where most of the delay happens.
Festivals, concerts and games
ACL Festival fills Zilker Park over two weekends, usually in early October. The Moody Center, the UT campus arena with more than 15,000 seats, and Q2 Stadium host concerts and games through the year. The evening out and event night package, US$950 for the Sprinter, covers dinner, the show and the ride back. See concert transportation and sports event transportation.
Lake Travis and lake-house weekends
Bachelorette weekends, birthdays and family reunions often rent a house on or near Lake Travis, northwest of the city. A Sprinter brings the group and its luggage from AUS and runs the evening trips into town, so nobody drives back on the lake roads after dinner. Enter the house address in the web booker for a fixed fare.
Hill Country wineries
The signature Austin day trip is a 10-hour Hill Country winery day to Fredericksburg, US$1,750 in an Executive Sprinter, about US$146 each for twelve. Visit Fredericksburg lists the wineries and tasting rooms. The chauffeur drives, waits at each stop and brings everyone back, and the tasting happens at the wineries, not in the vehicle; the chauffeur follows Texas rules on alcohol. Book tastings in advance, especially on weekends. Our wine tours page explains how the day runs.
Where groups stay, and why it matters
Downtown hotels along Congress Avenue and Cesar Chavez put a group within a short ride of most venues, and the AUS fares on this page are centred there. South Congress, across the river, is boutique hotels and restaurants; East Austin and Rainey carry much of the nightlife; and the Domain, north of the centre, is a second downtown of hotels, shops and offices. A group split between two of these areas should list both as pickups, because a Sprinter collecting from South Congress and the Domain spends part of its booked hours in between.
Austin traffic and timing
A few patterns shape every Sprinter booking in Austin.
- I-35. The main north-south highway through the city is slow at peak hours. Allow extra time for any trip that crosses downtown at rush hour.
- Event closures. SXSW, ACL and parades close downtown streets. The chauffeur adjusts the drop-off, and the desk confirms the pickup point with you in advance.
- Race-day traffic. Trips to COTA on race days take far longer than the map suggests, especially leaving after the event.
- Hotel driveways. On busy weekends, downtown hotel driveways are where groups lose the most time. Gather the group in the lobby before the pickup time.
The fixed fares do not change with traffic, but the clock on an hourly booking keeps running. Build margin into the plan rather than paying for overtime at the end of the night.
A conference week with one Sprinter
For a team of ten flying in for a conference week, using Austin's fixed rates:
- Arrival: AUS to the downtown hotel, US$315.
- Two full days moving between venues and a client dinner, US$1,400 each, US$2,800.
- One evening package for the team night out, US$950.
- Departure: hotel to AUS, US$315.
Total: US$4,380, about US$438 per person for the week, with the chauffeur, taxes and gratuity included. A corporate account adds monthly invoicing and NDAs on request; see corporate car service and conference transportation.
Beyond Austin
Many groups continue along I-35 or east to the coast. San Antonio is the closest Elly8.net city, and Houston and Dallas are within a long day's drive. For one-way runs between cities, see city to city car service. For everything Elly8.net books in Austin, see Austin limo service.
Groups that travel together often plan more than one trip a year. If the next one is a golf week in Arizona, our Scottsdale Sprinter van rental guide covers tee times, spring training and the Sedona day, and for a celebration with the vehicle as part of the party, the Phoenix party bus guide sets out the checks that apply to buses anywhere. The same desk, the same fixed-price approach and the same cancellation terms apply in every Elly8.net city.

Frequently asked questions
How many people fit in an Austin Sprinter van?
An Executive Sprinter seats up to 12 passengers with room for up to 12 bags. A Jet Sprinter seats up to 6 in captain's chairs with room for 4 bags. For groups larger than 12, book two vehicles under one reference, with one contact on the 24/7 desk for both.
Is the Sprinter self-drive?
No. Elly8.net books chauffeured Sprinters only. The chauffeur drives, waits at each stop and handles the bags, and the price includes the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity. On festival and race days, that also means someone who knows the closures is managing the drop-off.
What is the minimum booking for an hourly Sprinter?
Three hours, at US$190 an hour, so US$570. Fixed trips are priced per ride: AUS to downtown Austin is US$315 one way and US$600 round trip. The evening package is US$950 and a full day is US$1,400. Time beyond the booking is charged at the same hourly rate, so book a little margin on event days.
Is a Sprinter cheaper than two SUVs in Austin?
Per hour, yes. One Executive Sprinter is US$190 an hour, while two Business SUVs are US$240 combined. Two SUVs are worth it when the group will split up during the day, because each vehicle can follow its own schedule. For a group of seven to twelve that stays together, the Sprinter is the better value and the simpler plan.
Can a Sprinter take us to the Hill Country wineries?
Yes. The 10-hour Hill Country winery day to Fredericksburg in an Executive Sprinter is US$1,750, about US$146 each for twelve, all-in. The chauffeur drives, waits at each winery and brings the group back. Book tastings ahead, especially on weekends, and give the desk your list of wineries so the route is efficient.
How early should we book for SXSW or a COTA race weekend?
As soon as your dates are set. SXSW runs March 15-21, 2027, and Sprinters sell out for it and for race weekends at Circuit of The Americas. Prices do not rise for those weekends, but availability does run out. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup.
