Royal Ascot 2027 runs for five days, Tuesday 15 June to Saturday 19 June 2027, at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, about 49 km (31 mi) west of Mayfair. For visitors staying in London, the simplest way to arrive in morning dress or a race-day hat is a chauffeured car to the racecourse's official drop-off point and back to town after the last race. Elly8.net books that day at a fixed, all-in price: a full-day chauffeur from US$775 in a business sedan, or a Heathrow arrival from US$195.
Rides in London are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Ascot itself is outside our city list, so these trips are priced and run from our London chauffeur service. This page covers the dates, the racecourse's published drop-off arrangements, the train alternative and how to plan a race day without watching the clock.
How do you get to Royal Ascot by car from London?
Ascot Racecourse is about 49 km (31 mi) from Mayfair, around 53 minutes on a clear road via the M4 or the M3. The racecourse sets the drop-off points: Royal Enclosure guests are dropped and collected at Car Park 1 or Car Park 3, and all other enclosures at Car Park 3 or Car Park 6.
Those arrangements come from the racecourse's own travel and parking page, which describes the course as about a 50-minute drive or train journey from London, close to the M3, M4, M40 and M25 and to Heathrow. From central London the usual route is the M4 to Junction 6 and the A332 Windsor by-pass, signed to Ascot; from the south and east, the M3 to Junction 3 and the A332. The postcode for navigation is SL5 7JX.
Royal Ascot traffic is not normal traffic. Five days of racing bring heavy volumes onto the approach roads in the late morning, and the departure after the final race is slower still, as car parks, coaches and taxis empty at once. A chauffeur who knows which car park serves your enclosure, and who is waiting at the agreed point when you walk out, is the difference between a relaxed evening and an hour on the verge.
Royal Ascot 2027: the dates and the enclosures
The official Royal Ascot page lists the 2027 meeting as 15 to 19 June 2027, with racing on each of the five days from Tuesday to Saturday. Which enclosure you hold a badge or ticket for decides two things for your ground transport: where you are dropped and what you will be wearing when you get in the car.
- Royal Enclosure. Open exclusively to Members and their guests, with its own dress code. Drop-off and pick-up are at Car Park 1 or Car Park 3.
- Queen Anne and Village Enclosures. Ticketed enclosures with their own dress requirements. Guests are directed to the taxi drop-off points at Car Park 3 and Car Park 6.
- Windsor Enclosure. The racecourse notes there is no formal dress code here. Same drop-off points as the other public enclosures.
Dress codes are set and enforced by the racecourse, so read the official Royal Ascot dress guidance before you pack. From a transport point of view, morning dress, top hats and long dresses are one reason guests prefer a business SUV or a First Class car: more headroom, room for hat boxes in the back, and no need to stand on a station platform in June heat.
The plan: hotel to racecourse and back
The morning. Most London guests leave Mayfair, Knightsbridge or St James's in the late morning. The chauffeur collects you at the hotel door, drives out on the M4 and sets you down at the car park that serves your enclosure, as the racecourse directs. If you are hosting a group from different hotels, an Executive Sprinter with driver brings everyone together in one vehicle so the party arrives at the gate at the same time.
During the racing. The car does not leave. On a full-day chauffeur booking the chauffeur waits nearby while you are inside, and you message when you are ready. Some guests leave after the feature race; others stay until the last. Either way, there is no waiting for a taxi that has been called by a thousand people at once.
The evening. Many race days end with dinner in London or a night at a country-house hotel near Windsor. The car takes you straight there. For the longer days, add hours as directed at the hourly rate, or plan a 10-hour day from the start.
Arriving from abroad. If you are flying in for the week, a Heathrow car service is the logical start: Heathrow is only about 29 km (18 mi) from the racecourse, about 26 minutes on a clear road, so some visitors stay west of London in Windsor or Ascot itself and use central London only for evenings. Private flights into Farnborough, about 24 km (15 mi) from the course, put you closer still; see private jet and FBO transfers. If you travel from the United States or Canada, check the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation rules before you fly: the racecourse reminds overseas visitors that ETAs are required for non-visa nationals from February 2026.

Prices for a Royal Ascot day
London prices do not change for Royal Ascot. They are per vehicle, fixed and all-in, and include the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. If a car-park charge applies to a chauffeured vehicle on the day, it appears separately at cost.
- Full-day chauffeur (8 hours): US$775 in a business sedan, US$995 in a business SUV, US$1,180 in a First Class SUV, US$1,255 in a First Class Sedan and US$1,550 in an Executive Sprinter. This is the usual Royal Ascot booking from central London.
- Corporate roadshow day (10 hours): from US$945 in a business sedan to US$1,890 in a Sprinter, for the long days that end with dinner back in town.
- By the hour, as directed: US$105 an hour in a business sedan, US$135 in a business SUV, US$160 in a First Class SUV, US$170 in a First Class Sedan and US$210 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum.
- Evening out and event night (5 hours): from US$525 in a business sedan to US$1,050 in a Sprinter, for the dinners and parties in London that week.
- Heathrow to Mayfair: from US$195 in a business sedan to US$510 in a Sprinter; the round trip from US$375 to US$970.
All prices are on the London fares panel, and the fleet page shows what each class seats and carries. Royal Ascot week is one of the busiest of the London summer. First Class cars and Sprinters go first, so reserve as soon as your badges or tickets are confirmed.
Honest alternatives: the train from Waterloo
The train is a real option, and for some guests it is the right one. According to the racecourse, South Western Railway runs services to Ascot from London Waterloo, Reading and Aldershot, with an average journey of 52 minutes from Waterloo and 27 minutes from Reading, and the station is a 7-minute walk from the course. The racecourse recommends booking rail tickets in advance through South Western Railway, notes that Oyster and contactless cards are not valid to or from Ascot station, and warns that queuing systems and ticket inspectors are likely to be in place at the station.
If you are one or two people staying near Waterloo, travelling light and happy to queue for the return train, the railway is efficient and inexpensive. The car makes more sense when the party is four or more, when you are staying in Mayfair or Knightsbridge rather than near Waterloo, when someone in the group finds a long walk and a station queue in formal shoes a burden, or when the day continues to dinner somewhere the train does not go.
Licensed taxis and app-based private hire also serve the course, using the same car-park drop-off points. On a Royal Ascot evening, though, every taxi in the area is in demand at the same moment, and a pre-booked car with a chauffeur already waiting removes that uncertainty. For the wider comparison, see chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
Arriving by helicopter is also possible: the racecourse lists a helicopter landing facility close to the course, available subject to permission. If you combine a helicopter arrival with ground transport for the rest of the day, tell the desk and we schedule the car around the flight.
Hosting clients and groups at Royal Ascot
Royal Ascot is a corporate hospitality fixture, and the transport is part of the hosting. A company taking clients to a box or a restaurant at the course usually needs three things: guests collected from several London hotels, a group arrival at the same time, and flexible returns because not everyone leaves together.
The desk handles that as one booking. A Sprinter collects the main party and two business SUVs or First Class cars wait for the guests who want to leave early or go on to dinner. With a corporate account, the whole day is invoiced monthly, and NDAs are available on request when guest lists are confidential. Travel agents and concierges planning the week for clients use the travel agent and hotel accounts. Our sports event transportation and corporate car service pages explain how multi-vehicle event days are staged.
The chauffeur follows local rules on passengers and alcohol in the vehicle; celebrations stay at the racecourse or the restaurant.
The rest of the London summer
Royal Ascot sits in the middle of a crowded season. The Championships at Wimbledon begin on 28 June 2027, and many visitors combine both in one trip. The signature London day trip, Windsor Castle and the Cotswolds, passes close to Ascot and is a 10-hour package from US$970 in a business sedan to US$1,935 in a Sprinter.
If your trip continues, the same fixed-price service runs as a Paris chauffeur service, Manchester car service, Edinburgh chauffeur and Dublin airport transfers. Cars between cities are covered by city to city car service.

Frequently asked questions
When is Royal Ascot 2027?
Royal Ascot 2027 runs from Tuesday 15 June to Saturday 19 June 2027 at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, according to the official Royal Ascot page. Racing takes place on all five days. Chauffeured cars for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday book out first, so reserve as soon as your tickets or badges are confirmed.
How much does a chauffeur to Royal Ascot cost?
From central London, the usual booking is the 8-hour full-day chauffeur: US$775 in a business sedan, US$995 in a business SUV, US$1,255 in a First Class Sedan and US$1,550 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in per vehicle. Hourly service is US$105 to US$210 an hour with a 3-hour minimum.
Where does the car drop us at the racecourse?
The racecourse sets the points. For Royal Ascot, Royal Enclosure guests are dropped off and picked up at Car Park 1 or Car Park 3; all other enclosures are directed to Car Park 3 and Car Park 6. Put your enclosure in the booking notes and the chauffeur goes to the right one.
Does the chauffeur wait during the racing?
Yes, on a full-day or hourly booking. The chauffeur waits nearby while you are inside and you message when you are ready to leave, whether that is after the feature race or the last. If the day runs past the booked hours, extra time is billed at the hourly rate.
Is the train quicker than a car?
Sometimes. South Western Railway trains from Waterloo average 52 minutes and the station is a 7-minute walk from the course, but Oyster and contactless cards are not valid to Ascot and the racecourse expects queues at the station. A car is easier for groups, formal dress, hotels away from Waterloo and evenings that continue elsewhere.
Can you collect guests from several hotels?
Yes. The desk plans one booking with several vehicles: a Sprinter for the main party and cars for guests who want to leave early. Prices are per vehicle, so the Sprinter at US$1,550 for a full day often costs less per person than several separate cars. Corporate accounts invoice the day monthly.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less a 10% fee applies, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go to the original card used for the booking.
