The Championships, Wimbledon 2027 run for two weeks, from 28 June to 11 July 2027, at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in SW19, about 12 km (7 mi) south-west of Mayfair. Play continues into the evening on the show courts, finishing times are impossible to predict, and the roads around the grounds are suburban streets that were never designed for event traffic. A pre-booked Elly8.net chauffeur by the hour, from US$105 in a business sedan, drops you near your gate and is ready when your last match ends.
Rides in London are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. This page sets out the Wimbledon dates, how the grounds are approached, the Underground and rail alternatives, and the bookings that work best for a day or a week at the tennis.
How do you get to Wimbledon by car from central London?
The All England Club is about 12 km (7 mi) from Mayfair, around 28 minutes on a clear road and often much longer in Championships traffic. Book a chauffeur by the hour, from US$105 in a business sedan with a 3-hour minimum, so the car drops you near your gate and waits for the end of play.
The official guidance divides the grounds by direction of arrival. According to the Championships' visitor information, visitors arriving from the south, from Wimbledon station and Wimbledon Village, should use Gates 5, 7, 11a or 12, and visitors arriving from the north, from Southfields, should use Gates 1 and 3. Tickets are downloaded before arrival, and the club asks visitors to bring photo ID. When you book, tell us which gate serves your court and seats, and the chauffeur approaches from that side.
The roads around the club are residential, and during the fortnight the local authorities and the club run traffic and parking controls that change from year to year. Cars cannot simply pull up at a gate. The chauffeur follows the set-down and pick-up arrangements in force that year and messages you the exact meeting point before play ends, so you walk out of the grounds to a car that is already there.
The Championships 2027: dates and the shape of the fortnight
The club's future dates page confirms that The Championships 2027 will take place from 28 June to 11 July 2027, followed by 3 to 16 July 2028. Play spreads across the outside courts in the early rounds and concentrates on the show courts as the second week builds towards the finals weekend.
Who travels for Wimbledon shapes the ground plan. Families come for one day in the first week. Corporate hosts bring clients to hospitality across several days. Some visitors return for several days across the fortnight. Visitors from North America often build a London trip around a ticketed day, combining it with Royal Ascot, which runs 15 to 19 June 2027, or with a week of meetings in the City.
Two features of the tennis matter for transport. Start times are fixed, but finish times are not: a five-set match can run hours beyond the schedule, and evening play can carry on late. And everyone leaves at once when play ends on the main courts. A car on an hourly booking absorbs both problems; a taxi called from the gate does not.
The plan for a Wimbledon day
Morning: hotel to SW19. The chauffeur collects you from your hotel in Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Chelsea or Belgravia and drives south through Battersea or Fulham towards Wimbledon. Allow well over the clear-road time during the fortnight; the desk sets the pickup time from the start of play on your court.
During play: the car waits. On a car service by the hour booking, the chauffeur waits nearby while you watch. If you want to leave at a set time, tell us; if you want to see the match through, message when you are ready. Extra hours beyond the booking are billed at the same hourly rate, so there are no surprises.
Evening: dinner or the hotel. Many Wimbledon days end with dinner in Wimbledon Village or back in town. For those, the 5-hour evening out and event night package, or simply more hours on the same booking, keeps the car with you. The chauffeur follows local rules on passengers and alcohol in the vehicle.
A week of tennis. If you hold tickets for several days, book each day as a separate hourly or full-day reservation through the desk, with the same pickup point, or open a corporate account so the week is invoiced in one statement. Families can request child seats on any booking.
Groups and hospitality. Companies hosting clients use an Executive Sprinter with driver to collect guests from two or three hotels and arrive together. On a busy show-court day a single Sprinter is far easier to stage near the gates than a convoy of cars. See sports event transportation and group transportation.
Arriving in London for the Championships
Most North American visitors land at Heathrow. The fixed Elly8.net Heathrow car service to Mayfair runs from US$195 in a business sedan to US$510 in an Executive Sprinter, and the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, tracking your flight. If you are staying in Wimbledon itself, or going straight from the plane to the tennis, the trip from Heathrow to the club is about 29 km (18 mi), around 40 minutes on a clear road; that one-way run prices in the web booker.
| Route | Distance | Clear-road drive | Elly8.net booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mayfair to the All England Club | about 12 km / 7 mi | about 28 min | Hourly from US$105, or full day from US$775 |
| Heathrow (LHR) to Mayfair | 26 km / 16 mi | about 35 min | Fixed, US$195 to US$510 |
| Heathrow (LHR) to the All England Club | about 29 km / 18 mi | about 40 min | Web booker |
| Gatwick (LGW) to the All England Club | about 41 km / 26 mi | about 52 min | Web booker |
| London City (LCY) to Mayfair | 16 km / 10 mi | about 38 min | Fixed, US$155 to US$405 |
Gatwick is closer to Wimbledon than it is to the West End, which suits visitors who plan to stay south of the river. Private flights into Farnborough are about 64 km (40 mi) from Mayfair; see private jet and FBO transfers for how the chauffeur meets you at the handler.

Honest alternatives: the District line and the train
Public transport to Wimbledon is good, and for many visitors it is the right choice. Southfields station, on the Transport for London District line, serves the northern gates; Wimbledon station, served by the Underground, National Rail and trams, serves the southern gates and the walk through the Village. For one or two people staying near the District line, with no bags and no deadline after play, the Underground is inexpensive and direct.
The car makes sense when the day is less simple: a family with a pushchair and a picnic, guests in formal hospitality dress, a party of five staying in Mayfair, anyone with limited mobility, or a late finish when the station queues are longest. Licensed black cabs and app-based private hire work too, but they compete with every other spectator for the same streets when play ends. The comparisons are set out in chauffeur vs taxi and Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur.
For the airport, the Heathrow Express reaches Paddington in 15 minutes and is the fastest option for a solo traveller staying nearby. Its fare, the Elizabeth line and black-cab estimates are compared on our London city page.
Corporate hosts, delegations and private guests
Wimbledon is a fixture of the corporate and diplomatic calendar. The desk can plan several vehicles to one arrival time, hold cars for guests who leave at different moments, and keep the arrangements confidential, with NDAs on request. Visiting officials can use our government and diplomatic transportation service. Elly8.net arranges the cars and chauffeurs; we are not a security company, and any protective detail should be arranged with a licensed specialist.
Travel agents booking a Wimbledon package for clients use the travel agent account, and hotel concierges the hotel account. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley; the fleet page shows each class.
Make a summer of it
Many Wimbledon visitors add a day out of London. The signature day trip, Windsor Castle and the Cotswolds, is a 10-hour package from US$970 in a business sedan to US$1,935 in a Sprinter. The same fixed-price service runs as a Paris chauffeur service for Eurostar travellers, an Amsterdam chauffeur, a Brussels car service and Edinburgh car service.

Frequently asked questions
When is Wimbledon 2027?
The Championships 2027 take place from 28 June to 11 July 2027 at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, according to the club's official dates page. The 2028 Championships are scheduled for 3 to 16 July 2028. Cars for the second week and the finals weekend book out first.
How much is a car to Wimbledon from central London?
Most guests book by the hour: US$105 an hour in a business sedan, US$135 in a business SUV and US$210 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. A full 8-hour day starts at US$775 in a business sedan. Prices are per vehicle, fixed and all-in.
Which gate should we be dropped at?
The club directs visitors arriving from the south, via Wimbledon station and the Village, to Gates 5, 7, 11a or 12, and visitors from the north, via Southfields, to Gates 1 and 3. Tell us your gate when you book, and the chauffeur uses the set-down point on that side.
Will the chauffeur wait if the match runs late?
Yes, on an hourly or full-day booking. You message the chauffeur when you are ready, and any time beyond the booked hours is billed at the same hourly rate. That is why hourly bookings suit Wimbledon better than a one-way drop and a separate pickup.
Is the Underground faster than a car?
At the busiest times, often. Southfields station on the District line is closest to the northern gates. A car is the better choice for families, groups, hospitality guests, anyone with limited mobility and late finishes, when station queues are at their longest.
Can you move a group of clients?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter collects guests from several hotels and arrives together, from US$210 an hour or US$1,550 for a full day. The desk can add cars for guests who want to leave early, and a corporate account invoices the whole day monthly.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less a 10% fee applies, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go to the original card.
