The Formula 1 TAG Heuer British Grand Prix 2027 is on the official calendar for Friday 2 to Sunday 4 July 2027, round 10 of the season, and Silverstone opens its gates from Thursday 1 July for the wider weekend programme. Silverstone has already announced that 2027 is a Sprint weekend and that Robbie Williams headlines the opening concert. Most international visitors base themselves in London, about 70 miles (113 km) away by road, and that distance is the whole transport problem.
Elly8.net plans British Grand Prix transportation the way regular race-goers do it: arrive in London with a chauffeur at the airport, keep a car and chauffeur for each circuit day, and leave the evening free for dinner in Mayfair or Chelsea rather than a queue on the A43. London prices are fixed and all-in, and they do not change for race weekend.
How do you get from London to Silverstone on race day?
Leave central London early, around 6 a.m. on Sunday, in a pre-booked car whose chauffeur drives into a car park you have booked, or connect to Silverstone's official shuttle buses or the helicopter Park and Fly. Silverstone has no general drop-off at the circuit, so the car needs a booked car park or a booked transfer point.
The circuit sits in rural Northamptonshire between Towcester and Brackley. On our routing it is about 70 miles (113 km) from Mayfair, roughly 1 hour 40 minutes on a clear road, and about 69 miles (112 km) from Heathrow, roughly 1 hour 20 minutes. Race weekend roads are not clear. The final miles run on the A43 and local lanes that carry the whole crowd at once, and Silverstone itself asks visitors to allow at least an extra hour.
The most important detail is one many visitors miss: Silverstone states that it does not provide a drop-off facility at the circuit. A chauffeur cannot simply pull up at a gate, let you out and leave. Your plan therefore needs one of three things: a parking space booked for the vehicle, a booked shuttle from a station or Park and Ride site, or a booked helicopter transfer. We build the day around whichever you hold.
The three race-day plans that work
Plan 1: chauffeur to a booked car park. If you buy a parking pass for the vehicle through Silverstone, your chauffeur drives you into that car park and stays with the car. Silverstone notes that many car parks are on grass and can be up to a 30-minute walk from the main gates, so pack for the walk and agree a meeting point by text before the last session. This is the most flexible plan for a family or a small group, because the car is there when you want to leave and nobody is watching a shuttle timetable.
Plan 2: chauffeur to Park and Fly. Silverstone runs a shared helicopter Park and Fly from Turweston Aerodrome with its official partner, Air Charter Service: a return flight of about 15 minutes each way, onward transport at the circuit to your hospitality area or grandstand, and parking at Turweston. On our routing Turweston is about 75 miles (120 km) from Mayfair. The chauffeur takes you there, waits or returns at a set time, and drives you back to London after your return flight. It removes the slowest part of the day.
Plan 3: chauffeur to a shuttle point. Silverstone sells bus transfers at £8 per person per day for a return ticket from stations and towns including Milton Keynes (about 45 to 50 minutes to the circuit), Northampton, Banbury, Bicester, Oxford Parkway and Towcester. Buses drop about two minutes from the Abbey and Brooklands entrances. For Sunday, Silverstone lists inbound buses from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and outbound from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A chauffeur can take you to the pickup point and collect you at the end, which is often quicker than sitting in the final queue yourself. Bus tickets must be booked in advance, and Silverstone's cheapest advance prices apply before 31 March 2027.
All three options are set out on Silverstone's getting-here page, which is the source to check before you book; timings are subject to change. The race weekend itself, with every round of the season, is on the official Formula 1 2027 calendar.
Arriving in London for the Grand Prix
Most North American visitors fly into Heathrow, and some arrive by private jet at Farnborough. Every London airport is on the price list, from your terminal to Mayfair, per vehicle and all-in:
| Airport | Distance to Mayfair | Business Sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heathrow (LHR) | 16 mi (26 km), about 35 min clear | US$195 | US$255 | US$510 |
| London City (LCY) | 10 mi (16 km), about 38 min clear | US$155 | US$205 | US$405 |
| Gatwick (LGW) | 41 mi (66 km), about 71 min clear | US$340 | US$445 | US$885 |
| Stansted (STN) | 40 mi (64 km), about 84 min clear | US$335 | US$440 | US$875 |
| Farnborough (FAB) | 40 mi (64 km), about 65 min clear | US$335 | US$440 | US$875 |
First Class cars are listed too: Heathrow to Mayfair is US$345 in a First Class sedan and US$315 in a First Class SUV. The chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing; read how airport transfers and meet and greet work. Private aircraft arriving at Farnborough are met at the FBO; see private jet FBO transfers.
Some fans base themselves outside London for the weekend, in Oxford, Milton Keynes or the Cotswolds. Those addresses are not on the London price list, so price them in the web booker below; the fixed price is shown before you pay.
Prices for Silverstone days and London evenings
Silverstone is outside the London price list, so race days are booked by the hour or priced address to address in the web booker. The London rates, per vehicle and all-in:
| Package | Business Sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$105 per hour | US$135 per hour | US$210 per hour |
| Evening out & event night (5 hours) | US$525 | US$675 | US$1,050 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$775 | US$995 | US$1,550 |
| Corporate roadshow day (10 hours) | US$945 | US$1,215 | US$1,890 |
A Sunday from Mayfair, with an early start and the drive back after the podium and the evening programme, is a long day, often longer than ten hours. Book it by the hour or enter the car park, shuttle point or Turweston address in the web booker for a fixed price. Prices include the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking (including any circuit parking pass), the Congestion Charge and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. For how hourly bookings work, see our hourly chauffeur service and the wider approach in sports event transportation.
Race weekend books out early. London has a fixed number of chauffeured vehicles, and the Grand Prix falls in the same weeks as Wimbledon and the peak of the summer season, so reserve as soon as your tickets and parking are confirmed.
Groups, hospitality guests and corporate hosts
Companies host clients at Silverstone every year, and group logistics are where a plan pays off. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers with luggage and costs US$210 per hour in London; it keeps a hospitality group together on the road and in the car park. For larger groups, book several vehicles under one reference and the desk coordinates departure times so the whole party arrives together. Read more on group transportation and Sprinter van hire with a driver.
A corporate account puts every ride on one monthly invoice with a reference per guest, and agencies selling race packages can book for clients through travel-agent accounts. Sponsors, teams and media crews who need cars across several days can also look at corporate car service.
For VIP guests the desk can sign an NDA on request, and chauffeurs are briefed only on what they need for the route. Elly8.net provides transportation, not security; protective details should be arranged separately.
The honest alternatives
Not everyone needs a chauffeur for Silverstone, and we would rather you choose well.
| Option | Cost | Best for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train plus Silverstone bus | Rail fare plus £8 return bus per person per day | Solo fans and couples happy with a timetable | Station crowds on Sunday evening; last trains to London |
| Silverstone Park and Ride | £8 bus per person plus £10 vehicle pass | Drivers coming off the motorway | You drive and park yourself |
| Official coach | Set by National Express and Megabus | Budget day trips from UK cities | Fixed departure, drop near the Luffield Entrance |
| Self-drive and circuit parking | Parking pass at cost | Experienced drivers staying nearby | Race-day queues, grass car parks, driving after a long day |
| Elly8.net chauffeur | From US$105 per hour in London | Families, hospitality guests, groups, early starts and late finishes | Book ahead; needs a parking pass or transfer point |
If you are one or two people on a budget and happy to follow the bus timetable, the train and the official shuttle are good value. A chauffeur wins when you are travelling with children, hosting clients, starting from a central London hotel at dawn, or staying for the evening without watching the last-train clock. There is no surge on a fixed price. For the general comparisons, see chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs car rental.
In London itself, the Heathrow Express remains the quickest way to Paddington for a solo traveller with light bags, and a licensed black cab from the rank runs on the meter under Transport for London's published fares.
The rest of the week in London
The Grand Prix sits inside a busy London summer, so plan the days around it as well. Our London car service covers airport legs, dinners and the Windsor Castle and Cotswolds day trip (10 hours), priced from US$970 in a business sedan to US$1,935 in an Executive Sprinter. The evening out and event night package, from US$525 for five hours, suits a Friday or Saturday dinner after practice or the Sprint.
Fans who continue through Europe after the race can book a city-to-city car service or take the train and book a car on arrival in Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam. Elly8.net also covers Manchester and Edinburgh in the UK. Flights and hotels are booked through our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the car.

Frequently asked questions
Can a chauffeur drop me at the Silverstone gate?
No. Silverstone says it does not provide a drop-off facility at the circuit. The chauffeur can drive you into a car park you have booked for the vehicle, take you to Turweston Aerodrome for the helicopter Park and Fly, or take you to a station or Park and Ride site for the official buses. Tell the desk which one you hold when you book.
How long does the drive from London to Silverstone take?
About 70 miles (113 km) from Mayfair, roughly 1 hour 40 minutes on a clear road. On race weekend the last miles are much slower, and Silverstone asks visitors to allow at least an extra hour. For Sunday we usually suggest leaving central London around 6 a.m. and building in time for the walk from the car park.
How much is a chauffeur for a Silverstone race day?
Silverstone is outside the London price list, so the day is booked by the hour, from US$105 per hour in a business sedan to US$210 in an Executive Sprinter, or priced address to address in the web booker. Parking passes, tolls and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. Prices do not rise for race weekend.
What does a Heathrow transfer cost during Grand Prix week?
Heathrow to Mayfair is US$195 in a business sedan, US$255 in a business SUV and US$510 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in per vehicle, with flight tracking, meet and greet in arrivals and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. A Heathrow round trip starts at US$375 in a business sedan.
Can you move a hospitality group of ten or more?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers and costs US$210 per hour in London. Larger groups book several vehicles under one reference, and the desk staggers or aligns departures as you prefer. Corporate accounts can be invoiced monthly with a reference per guest.
When should I book British Grand Prix transportation?
As soon as you have tickets and know whether you hold a parking pass or a shuttle or helicopter booking. Race weekend falls in London's busiest summer weeks and cars book out early. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, so an early booking carries little risk.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup and it is free. At 72 hours or less the fee is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100%. Refunds go to the original card. Times and addresses can be changed through the 24/7 desk.
Do you meet private jets for the race?
Yes. Farnborough Airport is on the London price list at US$335 in a business sedan to Mayfair, and the chauffeur meets the aircraft at the FBO named in your booking. For other airfields closer to the circuit, enter the address in the web booker for a fixed price.
