Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) to Old Town Scottsdale is about 10 miles (16 km), around 19 minutes on a clear road. It is a short ride with a few traps: two terminals, rideshare curbs that change by terminal, a late-afternoon Loop 101 that can double the drive, and resorts spread well beyond Old Town. A pre-booked private car takes those out of the trip.
With Elly8.net the fare from PHX to Old Town Scottsdale is fixed before you fly: US$140 in a Business Sedan, US$185 in a Business SUV, US$225 in a First Class SUV, US$245 in a First Class Sedan and US$365 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle, all-in. The same fare applies on the way back to the airport. This guide walks the trip step by step, from landing to lobby.

Before you fly: what to send the desk
The smoothest pickups are set up before the flight leaves. When you book, include:
- Your flight number. It is how the chauffeur tracks the landing. If you change flights, update the booking or tell the 24/7 desk.
- The exact address. A resort name is not always enough; some resorts have several entrances and separate villas.
- Passengers and bags. Say how many suitcases, golf bags and pushchairs. The table above shows what each vehicle carries.
- Child seats. They are available on request. Give each child's age and weight so the right seat is fitted before pickup.
- A mobile number that works on landing. The chauffeur will message or call when you land.
Step 1: the landing
Your chauffeur tracks your flight number, so an early arrival or a delay is absorbed without you calling anyone. Phoenix Sky Harbor's passenger flights use Terminal 3 and Terminal 4, and the chauffeur knows which one from the flight. If your flight lands at the other terminal from the one you expected, nothing changes on your side.
When the aircraft reaches the gate, switch your phone on. The chauffeur's details arrive before pickup, and a message on landing confirms where to meet.
Step 2: where the chauffeur meets you
With Elly8.net airport meet and greet, the chauffeur waits inside arrivals at baggage claim, holding a name board. You do not need the PHX Sky Train or the rideshare curb. Collect your bags, find the board, and the chauffeur takes the luggage to the car parked at the terminal curb.
This is the main practical difference from a rideshare. At Sky Harbor, rideshare pickups use marked outer curbs that differ by terminal: at Terminal 3, the south outer curb and the far east end of the north outer curb; at Terminal 4, Level 1 outer curbs outside specific doors. Finding the right curb after a long flight, with bags and children, is where many arrivals lose time.
Step 3: the wait
Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included. If the carousel is slow, a bag is missing or an international arrival takes longer to clear, the chauffeur waits without a meter running. If something serious holds you up, such as a lost-bag report, message the chauffeur or call the desk so everyone knows.
The fare is fixed, so a long wait at baggage claim does not change what you pay. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk will tell you before it applies.
Step 4: the drive to Scottsdale
Most drives to Old Town take the Loop 202 and the Loop 101, or run straight up Scottsdale Road, depending on where you are staying. On a clear road, the trip takes about 19 minutes. Late afternoon on the Loop 101 is slower, and so are event days at the north end of the city.
Some weeks are busier than others. The WM Phoenix Open brings big crowds to TPC Scottsdale on February 8-14, 2027, and Cactus League spring training opens on February 19, 2027, with games at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick and Scottsdale Stadium. On those days the drive can take much longer, but the fixed price stays the same.
Step 5: arriving at the resort or hotel
Scottsdale's hotels spread from Old Town, with its galleries and restaurant streets, to resort corridors in the north and east. Give the resort name at booking, and the chauffeur heads for the right entrance and lobby. Villas and casitas often have their own drop-off point, so mention one if you have it.
Experience Scottsdale, the city's official tourism site, lists the resort areas and what is on during your stay. If you plan to move around during the visit, the hourly chauffeur in Scottsdale starts at US$100 an hour in a Business Sedan, with a 3-hour minimum.
Late-night and early-morning flights
Many of the flights that cause the most trouble land late in the evening or leave before dawn. A late arrival means a quieter terminal but fewer options at the curb, and a tired family with bags does not want to wait for a car to accept the trip. An early departure from a north Scottsdale resort means booking a car the night before and hoping it arrives.
A pre-booked car removes both problems. The price is the same at 1 a.m. as at 1 p.m., the chauffeur is already tracking the flight before it lands, and for early departures the pickup time is set in your email confirmation, with the chauffeur's details sent before pickup. If you are travelling with children, child seats are fitted before pickup on request. Sky Harbor's own guidance notes that on rideshare trips the parent or guardian is responsible for bringing a car seat, which is worth knowing if you are weighing the options.
Luggage: choose the vehicle by bags, not just people
The commonest mistake on this route is booking by headcount alone. Two golfers with clubs and suitcases do not fit a sedan comfortably. A practical guide:
- One or two travellers, normal luggage: Business Sedan or First Class Sedan, up to 3 passengers and 2 bags.
- Couples with golf bags, or families of four: Business SUV or First Class SUV, up to 6 passengers and 6 bags.
- Golf groups, wedding parties and teams: Executive Sprinter, up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. At US$365, twelve people pay about US$30 each.
The fleet page shows each class. For larger groups, our guide to Scottsdale Sprinter van rental explains how a Sprinter handles golf weeks and multi-stop days.
Fixed fare or meter: what you actually pay
Sky Harbor publishes one set of taxi rates for every company: US$7 for the first mile, US$2.60 for each additional mile, US$36 an hour for traffic delay and an US$18 minimum. For the 10-mile trip to Old Town, that meters at about US$30 before delay time and tip. Rideshare prices move with demand and climb in event weeks.
For one traveller with a carry-on landing mid-afternoon, the taxi is cheaper, and that is a fair choice. The fixed fare wins on late arrivals, with children and child seats, with golf bags, for groups sharing one vehicle and in tournament weeks. Our Phoenix to Scottsdale by Uber, taxi or chauffeur comparison sets out every option, and chauffeur vs taxi covers the general case.
Going back: Scottsdale to Phoenix airport
The return trip costs the same fixed fare, from US$140 in a Business Sedan to US$365 in an Executive Sprinter. Book the pickup time with enough margin for the drive, bag drop and security, and add time on weekday afternoons and event days. Tell the desk your terminal and airline so the chauffeur goes to the right departures curb.
Checkout day is also when plans change. If your flight moves, tell the 24/7 desk as soon as you know so the pickup time moves with it; only a cancellation inside 72 hours of pickup carries the published fee. Groups leaving on different flights can book one Sprinter for the main group and a sedan for the early or late traveller, which is often cheaper than holding the Sprinter for both.
A round trip booked together, from US$270 in a Business Sedan, is simpler than two separate bookings. For trips that continue to downtown Phoenix, see Phoenix car service, where PHX to downtown starts at US$115.
Flying private? Scottsdale Airport instead
If you are arriving on a private aircraft, you may land at Scottsdale Airport (SDL) rather than PHX. SDL to Old Town is priced exactly like PHX, from US$140 in a Business Sedan. The pickup works differently, with the chauffeur meeting you at the FBO, and our Scottsdale Airport limo guide explains tail numbers, FBO lobbies and planeside rules. The private jet and FBO car service page has more.

Frequently asked questions
How long is the drive from Phoenix airport to Scottsdale?
About 10 miles (16 km) and around 19 minutes on a clear road to Old Town Scottsdale. Late afternoon traffic on the Loop 101 and event days in north Scottsdale add time. Resorts further north take longer. The Elly8.net fare is fixed, so traffic does not change the price.
Where does the chauffeur meet me at Sky Harbor?
Inside arrivals at baggage claim, in Terminal 3 or Terminal 4, with a name board. The chauffeur tracks your flight, helps with bags and walks you to the car at the curb. You do not need to find the rideshare curb or take the Sky Train.
What if my flight is delayed?
The chauffeur tracks your flight number, so delays are handled automatically, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included. If you change to a different flight, update the booking or call the 24/7 desk so the chauffeur tracks the right one.
Can a sedan take golf clubs?
A Business Sedan or First Class Sedan carries up to 3 passengers and 2 bags, which is tight with golf clubs. For golfers, book a Business SUV or First Class SUV, which carry up to 6 bags, or an Executive Sprinter for a group, which carries up to 12.
Is the fare the same from Scottsdale back to the airport?
Yes. The fixed fare is the same in either direction, from US$140 in a Business Sedan to US$365 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in. A round trip booked together costs from US$270 to US$695, depending on the vehicle. Give the airline and terminal for the departure so the chauffeur uses the right curb.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100%. Refunds go back to the original card.
