Most Montreal weddings need two to four vehicles: one car for the couple, an Executive Sprinter for the wedding party, often a guest shuttle when the ceremony and reception are in different places, and sometimes a door-to-door car for grandparents. The number comes from the day's movements, not the guest list, and Montreal's tight old streets, one-way grid and summer closures make the plan matter more than in most cities.
On Elly8.net, a first class sedan for the couple is US$180 an hour, a 12-seat Executive Sprinter for the wedding party US$220 an hour and a business SUV for family US$140 an hour, each with a three-hour minimum, fixed and all-in per vehicle. Stretch limousines, the stretch SUV limousine, Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Maybach are priced in the web booker. Rides in Montreal are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How many cars does a Montreal wedding need?
List every movement of the day and who makes it. Most couples need one car for themselves, one Executive Sprinter for a wedding party of up to 12, and a business SUV if older relatives need door-to-door help. If the ceremony and reception are apart, add one Sprinter for every 12 guests who need a ride, or one running loops.
Write the day in time order: who leaves which hotel, who goes to photographs, who rides to the ceremony, who goes on to the reception, who leaves early. Each line with a different group or time is a vehicle, or a loop for one already booked. The answer is usually smaller than couples fear and larger than they first budget.

The vehicles Montreal weddings use
| Vehicle | Passengers | Wedding job | Price in Montreal |
|---|---|---|---|
| First class sedan | up to 3 | the couple, formal and quiet | US$180 an hour |
| Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Maybach | 2 | the couple, the photograph car | web booker |
| Stretch limousine | up to 8 | a small wedding party | web booker |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | wedding party or guest shuttle | US$220 an hour |
| Stretch SUV limousine | up to 16 | a larger wedding party | web booker |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | parents, grandparents, a family with children | US$140 an hour |
Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, and Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley seven or newer. In Old Montreal the Sprinter is often the practical choice for the wedding party: a high roof for dresses, forward seats and a sliding door that loads twelve people quickly on a lane with no curb space. A stretch limousine has the look many couples want in photographs, but it takes longer to load and to turn on narrow cobbled streets. Compare them on the fleet page, and see black car vs limousine for the trade-offs.
Three Montreal wedding layouts
Layout one: everything in Old Montreal. A ceremony at a historic church in the old quarter, photographs around Place d'Armes and the Old Port, and a reception at a hotel or event space a few streets away. The distances are tiny, but the lanes are narrow and busy on summer Saturdays. Plan: the couple's car, a Sprinter for the wedding party, and a clear meeting point for each pickup sent in advance. Guest shuttles are usually only needed for hotels outside the old quarter.
Layout two: a church uptown, a reception by the canal. A ceremony in Westmount, Outremont or the Golden Square Mile, photographs at the Mount Royal lookout, and a reception in a converted industrial space near the Lachine Canal or in Griffintown. Guests need to cross the city at the same time as everyone else on a Saturday afternoon. Plan: the couple's car, the wedding-party Sprinter, and one Sprinter for guests running two loops from the ceremony to the reception.
Layout three: a country venue. Some Montreal couples marry in the Laurentians or the Eastern Townships, with guests in hotels downtown or at the venue. Rideshare cars are scarce on rural roads late at night. Plan: the couple's car for the day, a wedding-party Sprinter, and guest Sprinters between the hotel block and the venue with fixed departures. For Tremblant weddings, the Mont-Tremblant car service page lists fixed YUL transfers from US$350 in a business sedan to US$910 in an Executive Sprinter for guests flying in.
Working out guest shuttles
Start with the number of guests who will not drive, then the drive time. A 12-seat Executive Sprinter running between a downtown hotel and a reception by the canal, roughly a 15-minute run on a Saturday, needs about 40 minutes for a round trip once loading and unloading are counted. In the hour before the ceremony, that is two full loads.
- Up to 24 guests: one Sprinter making two runs.
- 25 to 48 guests: two Sprinters, two runs each.
- Around 60 guests: three Sprinters. Asking one vehicle to do five runs means the last guests walk in after the vows.
Plan the end of the night the same way, with an early return after dinner for families and older guests and a late one when the music stops. The group transportation page covers multi-vehicle shuttles.
A Montreal wedding day, costed
An example for a 2 p.m. ceremony in Old Montreal, photographs on Mount Royal and at the Old Port, and a reception near the Lachine Canal from 5 to 11 p.m., with 30 guests needing shuttles.
| Time | Movement | Vehicle | Hours | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12:30 to 4:30 | couple: hotel, ceremony, photographs, reception | First class sedan | 4 | US$720 |
| 1:00 to 4:30 | wedding party: hotel, ceremony, photographs, reception | Executive Sprinter | 3.5 | US$770 |
| 1:30 to 5:00 | guests: hotel to ceremony, ceremony to reception, three loops | Executive Sprinter | 3.5 | US$770 |
| 10:00 to 1:00 | guests: two returns to the hotel | Executive Sprinter | 3 | US$660 |
| 1:30 to 4:30 | grandparents: door to door | Business SUV | 3 | US$420 |
Total: US$3,340 for five bookings, all-in, with parking at cost. Each line is a separate vehicle priced by the hour. Couples can trim it: drop the grandparents' SUV if they ride with family, use one Sprinter for both the wedding party and guest loops if the timings allow, or swap the first class sedan for a business sedan at US$110 an hour. A Rolls-Royce or Maybach for the couple is priced in the booker if the photograph car matters more than the budget.
The 2027 dates that clash with weddings
Montreal's wedding season is also its festival and event season, and large vehicles go first.
Grand Prix weekend, May 21 to 23, 2027. The Canadian Grand Prix is the busiest weekend of the year for cars, hotels and restaurants. A wedding that weekend should book every vehicle as soon as the date is set, and guests should book hotels early.
The jazz festival, June 25 to July 4, 2027. The Festival International de Jazz de Montreal closes streets in the Quartier des Spectacles around Place des Arts. A reception or hotel near the festival site needs pickups planned at the edge of the closed area.
July and early August. Just For Laughs fills theatres across downtown in July, and Osheaga is usually held at Parc Jean-Drapeau at the end of July or the start of August. Neither closes the whole city, but both add traffic and demand.
Hockey and concert nights. A Saturday Canadiens game or a big show at the Bell Centre fills the streets around the arena at the start and the finish. If your hotel or reception is nearby, check the arena calendar before setting departure times.
Construction season. Montreal's roadwork runs for much of the warm season. The desk checks closures on your route in the week of the wedding.
When to book wedding cars in Montreal
- As soon as venues are confirmed: reserve the couple's car and the wedding-party vehicle. Rolls-Royce, Maybach and stretch limousines are limited in every city.
- Three months ahead: finalise guest shuttles once RSVPs show how many guests need a ride.
- Two weeks ahead: send the desk the final timeline, addresses, names and who rides where.
- The week of the wedding: confirm photograph locations with the chauffeur, and give the chauffeur's contact to the planner or a friend, not the couple.
Reserving early does not raise the price, and plans can still change: cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less is 10%, 48 hours or less 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, refunded to the original card.
Out-of-town guests arriving at YUL
Montreal-Trudeau is about 18 km (11 mi) from downtown, around 23 minutes on a clear road. Guests flying in can book a fixed YUL airport transfer to the hotel: US$120 in a business sedan, US$160 in a business SUV and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter for a family or group arriving together, the same price in either direction. The chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board and tracks the flight, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. Planners booking many arrivals can use a travel agent account, and hotels hosting the wedding block can use the hotel partner programme.
Guests with a free day before the wedding often want to see the city. A four-hour private highlights tour starts at US$440 in a business sedan; our Montreal tours with a private driver guide has the itineraries.
The night before: stag, hen and rehearsal
The bachelor or bachelorette night is a different booking from the wedding day, usually an evening by the hour in a Sprinter or a party vehicle. Our Montreal limo bus guide covers sizes, hours and the questions to ask. For the rehearsal dinner, the five-hour evening out and event night package, from US$550 in a business sedan to US$1,100 in an Executive Sprinter, takes the families to dinner and back.
Common mistakes
- Planning around the guest list. The cars follow the timeline. A large wedding where everyone drives needs fewer vehicles than a small one in a hotel block.
- Mount Royal without a margin. The walk from the parking area to the lookout and back takes longer than couples expect in wedding shoes. Give the couple's car an extra half hour.
- A single ride home. Families with children leave early; the dancers leave late. Two return runs keep both happy.
- Children's seats as an afterthought. They are fitted on request, but only if ages and weights are on the booking.
- Choosing length over loading. A stretch looks wonderful in photographs and is slow on cobbled lanes. Many couples book the stretch or Rolls-Royce for themselves and a Sprinter for the party.
- Forgetting language. If older relatives prefer French, ask the desk for a French-speaking or bilingual chauffeur when you book.
The chauffeur follows local rules on alcohol in vehicles; plan the champagne for the venue, not the car.
How to book your Montreal wedding transport
- Send each movement with pickup, stops and drop-off, or book each vehicle by the hour.
- Choose the vehicle for each job: sedan, SUV and Sprinter from the price list, or a stretch, Rolls-Royce or Maybach in the booker.
- Reserve and receive confirmations by email. The 24/7 desk keeps the whole plan in one place.
More planning detail is on the wedding limousine page, and every Montreal fare is on the Montreal limo service page. Couples marrying elsewhere in the region can plan the same way in Quebec City and Ottawa. Frequently asked questions
How much does a wedding limo cost in Montreal?
On Elly8.net a first class sedan is US$180 an hour, an Executive Sprinter US$220 an hour and a business SUV US$140 an hour, three-hour minimum, all-in per vehicle. Stretch limousines, Rolls-Royce and Maybach are priced in the web booker. A typical day with three to five vehicles comes to roughly US$1,500 to US$3,500.
How early should we book wedding cars in Montreal?
As soon as the ceremony and reception venues are confirmed, especially for summer Saturdays and the weekends of the Grand Prix, May 21 to 23, 2027, and the jazz festival, June 25 to July 4, 2027. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup.
Do we need guest shuttles?
Only if guests are not driving and the ceremony and reception are apart, or the venue is outside the city. One Executive Sprinter seats 12 and can run loops; on a 15-minute drive, one Sprinter moves about 24 guests in an hour.
Can our chauffeur speak French?
Ask the desk when you book. Montreal is a French-speaking city where English is widely used, and we will tell you what we can arrange for your date before you pay. It is worth asking if older relatives will ride in the family car.
What happens if the ceremony runs late?
The chauffeur waits. Time beyond the booked block is billed at cost for the time actually used. Adding a 30-minute buffer when you book is the easiest way to avoid it, especially if photographs are on Mount Royal.
Can you bring guests from YUL to the wedding hotel?
Yes. Fixed YUL transfers to downtown start at US$120 in a business sedan and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, the same price in either direction, with flight tracking and meet and greet inside arrivals. For a Tremblant wedding, YUL transfers start at US$350.
