The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship lists its British rounds for Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May 2027, Rounds 12 and 13 of Season 13, at Brands Hatch. Formula E announced the date as "London at Brands Hatch", which marks a real change for visitors: after the races at ExCeL in London's Docklands, the 2027 double-header runs on a permanent circuit in the Kent countryside, about 23 miles (37 km) south-east of Mayfair by road. The weekend also falls on the late-May bank holiday, with Monday 31 May a public holiday in England.
That move changes the transport plan. ExCeL had a station next door; Brands Hatch sits on the A20 near West Kingsdown, three miles from junction 3 of the M25. Most international fans and corporate guests will still stay in central London, so the practical question is how to get out to Kent and back twice in one weekend without losing the evenings. Elly8.net books the London airport legs, a chauffeur for each race day and the dinners in town, at fixed, all-in prices that do not change for race weekend.
How do you get from central London to Brands Hatch for the E-Prix?
Book a chauffeur by the hour from your London hotel. Brands Hatch is about 23 miles (37 km) from Mayfair, roughly an hour on a clear road via the A20 and M25 junction 3. The circuit's own alternative is the train from London Victoria to Swanley and, on selected major race days, a shuttle bus from Swanley station.
On our routing, Mayfair to Brands Hatch is about 37 km (23 mi), about 59 minutes on a clear road. The same drive from London City Airport is about 33 km (21 mi), roughly 40 minutes, and Gatwick is about 57 km (35 mi), around 45 minutes; Brands Hatch itself describes Gatwick as a 30 to 45 minute drive. From Heathrow the route goes round the M25 and is about 93 km (58 mi), roughly 70 minutes before traffic.
Race mornings are slower. Every car, coach and taxi for the event uses the same few miles of the A20 at the same time, and the final approach to the spectator car parks is single-file. Brands Hatch gives two postcodes on its how to find us page: TN15 6FS for the circuit address and DA3 8PE for satellite navigation to the spectator parking areas. Your chauffeur will use the one that matches your ticket and parking, and we build the departure time around the session you need to see, not around the clear-road estimate.
The E-Prix weekend at a glance
Formula E races at Brands Hatch are a double-header: one race on the Saturday and another on the Sunday, each counting as a separate round. The official Formula E calendar lists Great Britain (Brands Hatch) as Rounds 12 and 13 on 29 and 30 May 2027, between the Berlin rounds earlier in May and Zandvoort in June. Session times, ticket types and fan-village plans are published by Formula E closer to the date; we set pickup times once they are out.
For planning purposes that means two full race days in Kent and three nights in London for most visitors, often four with the bank holiday Monday. Many corporate guests arrive on the Friday, attend both days and fly home on the Monday or Tuesday, which is a classic pattern for a multi-day booking under one reference.
Arriving in London for race weekend
North American visitors usually land at Heathrow, a few at Gatwick, and private aircraft often use Farnborough. Every London airport is on our fixed price list to Mayfair, per vehicle and all-in:
| Airport | Distance to Mayfair | Business Sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heathrow (LHR) | 16 mi (26 km), about 35 min clear | US$195 | US$255 | US$510 |
| London City (LCY) | 10 mi (16 km), about 38 min clear | US$155 | US$205 | US$405 |
| Gatwick (LGW) | 41 mi (66 km), about 71 min clear | US$340 | US$445 | US$885 |
| Stansted (STN) | 40 mi (64 km), about 84 min clear | US$335 | US$440 | US$875 |
| Farnborough (FAB) | 40 mi (64 km), about 65 min clear | US$335 | US$440 | US$875 |
First Class cars are on the same list: Heathrow to Mayfair is US$345 in a First Class sedan and US$315 in a First Class SUV. A Heathrow round trip, arrival and departure, starts at US$375 in a business sedan. The chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you in arrivals with a name board and helps with the bags, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. Read how London airport transfers work, and for aircraft arriving at Farnborough or another business aviation terminal see private jet and FBO transfers.
One useful detail for this event: if you land at Gatwick on race morning, the circuit is closer to Gatwick than central London is. The web booker will price Gatwick direct to Brands Hatch as a fixed fare, so you can drop your bags in the car, go straight to the track and reach your hotel in the evening.
Race-day prices from London
Brands Hatch is outside the London price list, so a race day is booked by the hour or priced address to address in the web booker. These are the London rates, per vehicle and all-in:
| Package | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$105 per hour | US$135 per hour | US$170 per hour | US$210 per hour |
| Evening out & event night (5 hours) | US$525 | US$675 | US$850 | US$1,050 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$775 | US$995 | US$1,255 | US$1,550 |
| Corporate roadshow day (10 hours) | US$945 | US$1,215 | US$1,530 | US$1,890 |
A typical E-Prix Saturday from Mayfair, leaving mid-morning and returning after the race and the paddock programme, fits a Full-day chauffeur at eight hours. If you want to stay for the evening or start before the gates open, the 10-hour day, priced from US$945 in a business sedan, is the safer choice. Prices include the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; circuit parking for the vehicle, tolls, the Congestion Charge and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. Prices on the list do not rise for race weekend. More on hourly chauffeur bookings and our approach to sports event transportation.
Book early. Late May is a busy fortnight in London, and the bank holiday weekend thins out the chauffeur pool just as demand rises. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, so securing the cars as soon as you have tickets costs little.
Where the car waits at Brands Hatch
A chauffeured car needs somewhere to be while you watch the race. Brands Hatch directs spectator traffic to its parking areas, and the vehicle will normally need a parking ticket for the event, bought in advance where the organiser sells them. The chauffeur drops you, parks and stays with the car, and you agree a meeting point by text before the last session so the walk back is short.
If you hold hospitality passes, tell the desk which entrance and car park your package specifies when you book; hospitality guests often have their own parking. If the event offers no parking that suits a chauffeured car, we plan a set drop-off and collection time instead, and the chauffeur waits off-site. Brands Hatch also asks anyone planning to arrive by helicopter to complete its helicopter landing request form; if you fly in, a car can meet you at your departure heliport in London.
Groups, sponsors and corporate hosts
Formula E draws a strong business crowd: manufacturers, technology partners, energy companies and their guests. Moving them between London and Kent works best in one vehicle. An Executive Sprinter seats up to 12 passengers with luggage and costs US$210 per hour in London, so a full day for a hospitality group often costs less per head than a string of separate cars. Larger groups book several vehicles under one reference, and the desk staggers or aligns departures. See group transportation and the Sprinter van with driver.
For teams running guests across both race days, a corporate account gives one monthly invoice with a reference per traveller, and agencies selling E-Prix packages can book for clients through travel-agent accounts. Our corporate car service covers the meetings and site visits that often surround a sponsorship weekend. For VIP guests the desk can sign an NDA on request. Elly8.net provides transportation, not security; protective details should be arranged separately.
The honest alternatives
A chauffeur is not the only sensible way to Brands Hatch, and we would rather you choose the option that fits.
| Option | What it involves | Best for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train to Swanley plus shuttle | Regular trains from London Victoria; shuttle bus from Swanley station on selected major race days | Solo fans and couples on a budget | Confirm the shuttle runs for the E-Prix; crowds after the last race |
| Taxi from the circuit rank | Brands Hatch says a taxi rank is based in the car park | A one-way trip home if plans change | Queues at the end of the day |
| Local bus | Go Coach route 429 between West Kingsdown and Dartford passes the circuit, Monday to Saturday | Locals | Not on Sundays |
| Self-drive and parking | Parking at cost | Experienced UK drivers | Left-hand traffic, race-day queues, no drink at dinner |
| Elly8.net chauffeur | From US$105 per hour in London | Families, hospitality guests, groups, both race days | Book ahead; needs a parking plan |
All four public options are set out by the circuit on its how to find us page. For one or two people with light bags, the train to Swanley and a shuttle is good value when it runs. A chauffeur wins when you are travelling with children, hosting clients, carrying camera kit or coats for a changeable spring day, or simply want the car waiting at the end rather than a platform. There is no surge on a fixed price. For the wider trade-offs, read chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs car rental.
Within London, the Heathrow Express is still the quickest way to Paddington for a solo traveller, and licensed black cabs run on the meter under Transport for London's published fares.
Evenings and the rest of the week
Race days end in time for dinner in town. The evening out and event night package, from US$525 for five hours in a business sedan, covers a Saturday dinner in Mayfair or Chelsea after the first race. If the bank holiday Monday is free, the Windsor Castle and Cotswolds day trip (10 hours) runs from US$970 in a business sedan to US$1,935 in an Executive Sprinter, and the Private city highlights tour starts at US$420. All of these are on the London car service page.
Fans who continue to Zandvoort for the Dutch rounds in June can take the train or fly and book a car on arrival in Amsterdam; others go on to Paris or Brussels, and within the UK Elly8.net also covers Manchester and Edinburgh. For long transfers between cities, see city-to-city car service. Flights and hotels are booked through our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the car.
