The Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco 2027 is the 84th edition of the race. The Automobile Club de Monaco lists the event programme from Thursday 3 June to Sunday 6 June 2027, and the Formula 1 calendar places the race weekend on 4 to 6 June, with the Grand Prix on Sunday 6 June. In 2027 Monaco is also one of the season's sprint weekends, the first sprint ever held on the streets of the Principality, so Saturday carries the sprint race as well as qualifying for the Grand Prix.
Monaco is small, steep and built around its harbour, and the circuit is made of its main streets. During the Grand Prix, the roads that normally connect Monte-Carlo, La Condamine and the port are part of the track, grandstands and terraces occupy the rest, and the population of the Principality swells with fans, guests and yacht parties. Elly8.net books the race weekend as a set of fixed-price chauffeured cars: Nice airport transfers, hourly cars that work around the closures, and evening cars for dinners and parties along the coast.
How do you get to the Monaco Grand Prix by car?
Book a Nice airport transfer to your hotel well before race week, then a chauffeur by the hour for each day you need to move. During track sessions no car crosses the circuit, so the chauffeur drops you at a point outside the closed area nearest your grandstand, terrace or berth and collects you there afterwards.
The circuit runs through the heart of Monte-Carlo, so access is planned from the outside in. Cars approach from the entrances of the Principality, use the tunnels and the outer roads that stay open, and stop at points where you can walk the last stretch to your seat or your yacht. The timing matters more than the vehicle: early arrivals avoid the queues at the entrances to Monaco, and the return is planned around the end of each session.
A chauffeur does not make the closures disappear. It removes the guesswork: one chauffeur who knows the drop-off point you need, a car waiting outside the closure zone at the end of the day, and a fixed price agreed before you travel.
Arriving for race week: Nice Côte d'Azur Airport
Almost every visitor arrives through Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE), about 35 km (21 mi) from Monte-Carlo, roughly 45 minutes on a clear road. Race week is anything but clear: the A8 motorway and the coastal roads into Monaco slow down from Thursday, and the entrances to the Principality become the bottleneck. The Nice airport has two terminals, and the chauffeur meets you inside arrivals with a name board, tracking your flight, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
| Route or package | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NCE to Monte-Carlo | US$220 | US$290 | US$385 | US$575 |
| NCE round trip to Monte-Carlo | US$420 | US$555 | US$735 | US$1,095 |
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$100 | US$125 | US$160 | US$200 |
| Evening out and event night (5 hours) | US$500 | US$625 | US$800 | US$1,000 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$740 | US$920 | US$1,180 | US$1,475 |
Prices are per vehicle and all-in, including the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. A first class SUV is US$355 from NCE to Monte-Carlo. The full list, including the corporate roadshow day from US$900 to US$1,800, is on the Monaco city page. For how airport meetings work, see airport transfers; for private aircraft at Nice, see private jet FBO transfers.
Many race guests stay outside Monaco, where rooms are easier to find: in Nice, on Cap Ferrat and Cap d'Ail, in Menton or further west in Cannes. For those hotels, use the web booker and the price is shown before you reserve.
The race-day plan: hourly cars around the closures
The pattern that works is a car by the hour for each day you attend.
Morning. The chauffeur collects you at your hotel early enough to pass the entrances to Monaco before the morning build-up. On Saturday and Sunday that means earlier than you would expect for a short drive.
The drop-off. Tell the desk your ticket: a grandstand, a terrace on a building along the circuit, a hospitality suite, or a yacht in Port Hercule. Each has its own nearest access point, and for some, the last part of the journey is on foot, up or down Monaco's stairways and lifts. Send any access instructions from your ticket or host with the booking.
During the sessions. The chauffeur holds outside the closure area, reachable by phone. If you want to leave between sessions, for lunch in the hills or a meeting in Nice, the car is ready.
The evening. After the track closes, Monaco's evening begins. The evening out and event night package (5 hours, US$500 to US$1,000) covers dinner, a party and the return to the hotel. For a long day from breakfast to the last party, the full-day chauffeur (8 hours) is US$740 in a business sedan; see hourly chauffeur and sports event transportation.
Yachts, hospitality and corporate guests
The Grand Prix is one of the most important weekends of the year for corporate hospitality on the Riviera. Hosts often move guests from hotels in Nice or Cannes to a terrace or a yacht in the morning and back at night, with dinners in between.
An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 guests with bags and is US$575 from Nice airport or US$200 per hour. For a host with guests in several hotels, the desk times several sedans or SUVs so that arrivals are spread out, and keeps the cars under one reference. A corporate account gives one monthly invoice and a named contact; yacht agents, concierges and travel agents can book through travel-agent accounts. For larger programmes, see group transportation and the Sprinter van with driver service.
Well-known guests can ask for discretion and a non-disclosure agreement. Chauffeurs know only the route and the timing. Elly8.net is a transportation service, not a security company; close protection should be arranged separately.
Train, bus, helicopter or chauffeur: an honest comparison
The Automobile Club de Monaco itself recommends public transport for race weekend, and for many fans it is the right call.
| Option | Price | Journey | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regional train from Nice | ZOU regional fare | About 30 minutes from Nice, trains every 15 minutes on race weekend | Fans with small bags, any session |
| Line 80 express bus, Nice airport to Monaco | €20.50 | Road journey, subject to race-week traffic | Solo travellers from the airport |
| Scheduled helicopter, Nice airport to Monaco | Operator's fare | About 7 minutes | Travellers short of time, light luggage |
| Elly8.net chauffeur | From US$220 from NCE; from US$100 per hour | About 45 minutes on a clear road, longer in race week | Groups, families, luggage, hospitality hosts, evenings |
According to the ACM's travel advice, trains from Nice and Ventimiglia take about 30 minutes and run every 15 minutes during the Grand Prix weekend, and Menton is 11 minutes away; ZOU train tickets are valid on any train that day for the journey booked. The ACM also lists bus line 600 between Nice, Monaco and Menton every 15 to 20 minutes, and line 80 from Nice airport via Monaco at €20.50. For drivers, it points to the Salines, Saint Antoine and Wurtemberg car parks at the western entrance to the city, bookable in advance.
If you are one fan with a backpack, the train is fast and cheap, and the station is a walk from much of the circuit. A chauffeur is better when you have luggage on arrival day, when you travel as a family or a group, when you are hosting guests, when your evening runs late or ends up the coast, or when you simply do not want to stand on a crowded platform after the race. For the general argument, see chauffeur vs taxi.
Choosing the right vehicle for Monaco's streets
Monaco's roads are narrow, steep and full of hairpins, and during race week every hotel driveway is busy. A business sedan or a business SUV is the easiest size to place at a drop-off point, and a business SUV takes two or three large suitcases on arrival day. A first class sedan or SUV suits guests of honour and couples heading to a gala dinner.
For groups, an Executive Sprinter is usually more practical than two cars: one vehicle, one chauffeur, one drop-off, and everyone arrives together. It cannot use every street a sedan can, so for a few addresses in the old town the chauffeur stops at the nearest suitable point and the group walks the last few minutes. The desk tells you at booking if your address needs that.
Before and after the race
The Grand Prix falls a little more than two weeks after the end of the Festival de Cannes on 22 May 2027, and a fortnight before the Cannes Lions festival, so many travellers combine the Riviera's early summer. A chauffeur by the hour or the private city highlights tour (US$400 in a business sedan to US$800 in an Executive Sprinter) works well on the quieter days before the closures begin.
From Monaco, the desk books a city-to-city car service to Milan, Lake Como or Geneva, and transfers back to Nice for departures. Book the return to the airport when you book the arrival: Monday after the race is a heavy departure day at NCE.
How booking works
Rides in Monaco are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer (seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley). Elly8.net is a member of LimousineWorldwide.Directory and LimousineAssociation.International.

Prices include the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. They do not change for the Grand Prix. Availability does: race week is the busiest of the year for chauffeured cars on the Riviera, so reserve now. Official race information is on the Formula 1 2027 calendar and the ACM's ticketing site.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a transfer from Nice airport to Monaco for the Grand Prix?
The price does not change for race week. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport to Monte-Carlo is US$220 in a business sedan, US$290 in a business SUV, US$385 in a first class sedan and US$575 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle and all-in, with meet and greet inside arrivals. A round trip starts at US$420.
Can a car drive me to my grandstand?
Not while the track is in use. The circuit is made of Monaco's main streets, so cars stop at access points outside the closed area. The chauffeur drops you at the point nearest your grandstand, terrace or yacht and meets you there afterwards. Some routes finish on foot via stairways and public lifts.
How long does the drive from Nice take in race week?
On a clear road, about 45 minutes for 35 km (21 mi). During the race weekend, traffic at the entrances to Monaco can make it much longer, especially on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The desk sets pickup times with that in mind and plans the route to avoid the busiest approaches.
Is the train a better option?
For a fan travelling light, often yes. The ACM says trains from Nice take about 30 minutes and run every 15 minutes on race weekend. A chauffeur is better with luggage, for groups and families, for hospitality guests, and for evenings that end late or along the coast.
Can you move guests between a yacht and a hotel in Cannes?
Yes. Book by the hour from US$100 in a business sedan, or an Executive Sprinter at US$200 per hour for up to 12 guests. The chauffeur drops at the nearest permitted point to Port Hercule and waits outside the closure area until you are ready.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card. Plan changes can be handled by the 24/7 desk.
Do you sign NDAs for VIP guests?
Yes, on request. The chauffeur is briefed only on the timing and route, and the desk can sign a non-disclosure agreement. Elly8.net is not a security company; protective details should be arranged separately.
When should we book?
As soon as your tickets or hospitality are confirmed. The Monaco price list is fixed, but the number of chauffeured vehicles on the Riviera during race week is not, and the best vehicle classes go first.
