The Audi FIS Ski World Cup comes to Courchevel on Tuesday 22 December 2026 for a women's slalom, and it is a night race: the first run starts at 17:45 and the second at 20:45, according to the FIS event page. The race is organised by the Club des Sports Courchevel, and it falls in the resort's 80th-anniversary season, in the week before Christmas, when chalets and palace hotels across Courchevel 1850 are filling up.
For visitors, a night slalom changes the transport plan. You watch two runs under floodlights in December cold, finish late in the evening, and then want to be at dinner or back at the chalet, not waiting on a dark mountain road. Elly8.net books it as a fixed-price plan: a winter-equipped transfer from Geneva to the resort, and an evening car that drops you near the race area, waits through both runs and takes you on to dinner. Prices are all-in and the same on race day as any other day, and the 24/7 desk runs the booking from landing to departure.
How do you get to the Courchevel World Cup night slalom?
Fly into Geneva and book a fixed transfer to Courchevel 1850, about 148 km (92 mi) and 2 hours 34 minutes on a clear road, ideally arriving the day before. On race night, book the five-hour evening package: the chauffeur drops you before the 17:45 first run, waits through the 20:45 second run and drives you to dinner.
Courchevel is reached by one road: motorways from Geneva to Albertville, the valley road up the Tarentaise to Moûtiers, then the climb of switchbacks to the resort, which the tourist office times at about 30 minutes from Moûtiers in normal conditions. In late December the climb is often snowy, and French law requires winter equipment on every vehicle. A chauffeur in a winter-ready car takes that problem off your hands.
On race night itself, the car matters most at the end. When the second run finishes and the podium is over, spectators leave together, in the dark and the cold. With a pre-booked car, you walk to an agreed pickup point and go straight to dinner.

Arriving: Geneva and the Altiport
| Airport | Distance to Courchevel 1850 | Clear-road drive | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Geneva (GVA) | 148 km / 92 mi | about 154 min | US$525 | US$685 | US$840 | US$1,365 |
| Courchevel Altiport (CVF) | 4 km / 3 mi | about 7 min | US$120 | US$160 | US$195 | US$315 |
Prices are per vehicle, all-in; First Class Sedans are on the Courchevel price list too. Round trips from Geneva start at US$1,000 in a business sedan and run to US$2,595 in an Executive Sprinter, and most visitors book both legs together so the departure is settled before they arrive.
Geneva. Geneva Airport is the usual gateway for North American skiers. Give us the flight number; the chauffeur tracks the landing and waits in arrivals with a name board, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary, which covers a slow passport line or a long wait for ski bags. See airport transfers, meet and greet and our Geneva page if you spend a night in the city first.
Courchevel Altiport. The resort's own airfield sits above Courchevel 1850 and, as the tourist office describes, accommodates certain private and commercial flights on a short, sloping runway, subject to mountain weather. Some guests fly privately to a larger airport and continue by helicopter or small aircraft. Transfers from the Altiport start at US$120. See private jet and FBO transfers.
The tourist office also lists Lyon-Saint-Exupéry and Chambéry as access airports; we quote those routes through the web booker.
The road up in December: winter equipment and timing
In Savoie, the prefecture's winter rules require every vehicle, from 1 November to 31 March, to have winter tyres marked 3PMSF or to carry snow chains or snow socks for the driven wheels. Partner vehicles assigned to Courchevel transfers in that period are equipped accordingly, and the chauffeur fits chains when signs or conditions call for them. A rental car collected in Geneva may not come with the right equipment, which is one reason we suggest not driving yourself; see chauffeur vs car rental.
The race is on a Tuesday, which helps: the heaviest traffic in the Tarentaise valley comes on Saturday changeover days, and Saturday 19 December, the weekend before Christmas, is a changeover day. If your dates are flexible, arrive on Sunday 20 or Monday 21 December, rest, and be in the resort well before race night. When snow is forecast, the chauffeur may suggest leaving Geneva earlier; the fixed fare does not change.
The trip home needs margin. For a morning flight from Geneva, the pickup in Courchevel can be well before dawn; the desk works back from your flight with about three hours to the airport in good conditions, plus time for snow, plus the check-in margin for a long-haul flight with ski bags.
Race night: the evening car
The evening out and event night package keeps a car and chauffeur with you for five hours, from US$475 in a business sedan to US$950 in an Executive Sprinter, with First Class sedans and SUVs in between. It fits a night slalom well.
A typical plan: pickup at the chalet or hotel around 17:00, drop-off at the nearest permitted point to the race area before the 17:45 first run. Between runs there are three hours, time for an early drink or dinner in the village; the car can take you there and back if your chalet is in a lower village. After the 20:45 second run and the podium, the chauffeur meets you at the agreed point and drives you to a late dinner or home. If the evening runs past five hours, extra time is billed at the hourly rate.
Inside the resort the roads between villages are steep and parking near the lifts is limited, which is why many guests keep a car for the whole stay. Hourly chauffeur service in Courchevel costs US$95 an hour in a business sedan, US$120 in a business SUV, US$145 in a First Class SUV, US$155 in a First Class Sedan and US$190 in an Executive Sprinter, three hours minimum. A full-day chauffeur (8 hours) runs from US$700 to US$1,400, useful for a ski day in Méribel or Val Thorens ending at the race. The chauffeur follows French rules on what can be carried in the vehicle.
Groups, sponsors and chalet guests
Race night brings sponsor guests, ski clubs, team families and chalet parties. For a group of up to six or seven with warm clothing and boots, an Executive Sprinter keeps everyone together, and for larger groups the desk books several vehicles on one confirmation with one coordinator number. See Sprinter van with driver, group transportation and sports event transportation.
Companies hosting clients can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing and NDAs on request; chalet operators and hotels can book guests on account through hotel accounts, and travel advisers through travel agent accounts.
Staying in the lower villages
Courchevel is a family of villages on one mountainside: Courchevel 1850 at the top, then Moriond (1650), Courchevel Village (1550), Le Praz (1300) and La Tania, all linked to Méribel and Val Thorens in Les 3 Vallées. Our fixed fares are calculated to 1850; the lower villages are a short drive away and quoted through the web booker.
If your chalet or hotel is in a lower village, the evening car matters even more on race night, because the roads up and down are steep, dark and often icy after sunset. The chauffeur collects you at the door, drops you near the race, and after the second run takes you to dinner in 1850 or straight home, so nobody in the party has to drive a mountain road at night. For a week-long stay, many guests book the Geneva round trip plus one or two evening packages, and use the lifts and ski buses during the day.
Honest alternatives: shared coaches, the train and helicopters
| Option | Price | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared coach or shuttle from Geneva | Per seat, set by the operator | Solo travellers and couples on a budget | Longer, with stops at other resorts |
| Train to Moûtiers, then taxi or bus | Rail fare plus the last leg | Travellers already in France, light luggage | About 30 minutes up the mountain at the end |
| Helicopter or small aircraft to the Altiport | Set by the operator | Private flyers, light luggage | Weather-dependent |
| Elly8.net from Geneva | From US$525 per vehicle, fixed | Families, groups, ski equipment, late arrivals | Book early for the Christmas weeks |
If you are travelling alone or as a couple with one ski bag, a shared coach from Geneva is much cheaper, and the tourist office publishes coach schedules. Moûtiers is the nearest railway station, a good choice for travellers already in France. A chauffeur wins for families and groups with skis, for late arrivals, for child seats, and for race night itself. See chauffeur vs airport shuttle.
Around the race: the 3 Vallées and the Riviera
The private highlights tour, from US$380 in a business sedan to US$760 in a Sprinter, takes in the villages and the Altiport viewpoint. Many visitors combine the Alps with the coast or the lakes: the same desk covers Geneva, Nice, Monaco and Milan, and long-distance rides are on city-to-city car service.
Rides in Courchevel are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Elly8.net is a member of LimousineWorldwide.Directory, LimousineAssociation.International, HotelsWorldwide.Directory and VacationsWorldwide.Directory. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.
