The US Open is played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, about 10 miles (16 km) from Midtown Manhattan. It usually runs from late August into the second week of September, with day and night sessions on the stadium courts. The 2026 tournament period ran from August 23, with the main draw beginning on Sunday, August 30, to September 13; the 2027 dates had not been published by the USTA when this page was written. An Elly8.net chauffeur by the hour, from US$105 in a business sedan, takes you there and waits through the session.
Rides in New York City are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. This page covers the official drop-off for car services, the subway and Long Island Rail Road alternatives, parking, and the bookings that suit a day session, a night session or a week of tennis.
Where do car services drop off at the US Open?
According to the US Open, all rideshare providers, including black-car services, drop off and pick up in the parking lot within the New York Hall of Science, with a direct walking path to the Champions' Entry. A complimentary shuttle runs for guests who need assistance. Your Elly8.net chauffeur uses that lot.
That arrangement comes from the tournament's own transportation and directions page, which also strongly recommends public transportation because parking is limited. In practice it means the car does not drive to a stadium gate. You are dropped in the Hall of Science lot, walk the short path to the Champions' Entry, and walk back to the same lot when you leave. The chauffeur messages the exact meeting spot inside the lot before your session ends.
The drive itself is short on paper and slow in practice. The tournament directs drivers to the Grand Central Parkway exit 9E, the Whitestone Expressway exit 13D or the Long Island Expressway exit 22B at College Point Boulevard, where NYPD directs traffic to the parking areas. On a weekday evening the Grand Central and the Van Wyck carry commuter traffic, LaGuardia traffic and tennis traffic at the same time, and on New York Mets home dates, which the tournament calls conflict dates, stadium crowds next door add to the queue. A fixed-price car turns that into a timing question for the desk, not a cost question for you.
The US Open: dates, sessions and who goes
The US Open is the last of the four Grand Slam tournaments each year, run by the United States Tennis Association at the National Tennis Center in Queens. The tournament's own schedule for 2026 ran from August 23 to September 13, with the main draw from August 30. When the USTA publishes the 2027 dates on usopen.org, the desk opens bookings for them; until then, plan on late August to mid-September.
The crowd is broad: families on a first-week day session, corporate hosts in suites, visitors from overseas who build a New York trip around the second week, and fans who come straight from Midtown offices for a night session. Night sessions end late and unpredictably, because a long match on the stadium court can run well past the scheduled time. That single fact is the best argument for a chauffeur by the hour: the car is still there when the match finally ends.
The plan for a US Open day or night
Day session. Leave Midtown in the late morning, drop in the Hall of Science lot, and either keep the car on standby or book a return pickup time. Many guests do a day session and an early dinner in Manhattan, which fits a 5-hour evening out and event night package or a few hours as directed.
Night session. Book car service by the hour from about an hour before the session. The chauffeur drops you, waits in the official lot area and is ready whenever you leave, whether after the first match or the last ball of the night. A one-way drop and an app ride back is cheaper on paper, but the end of a night session is when every app car in Queens is in demand at once.
A week of tennis. For guests holding tickets on several days, the desk books each day with the same hotel pickup, and a corporate account can put the whole week on one monthly invoice.
Hosting clients. Companies with suites or hospitality use an Executive Sprinter with driver to bring a group from two or three Midtown hotels to the lot together, with business SUVs for guests who leave early. See sports event transportation and corporate car service.
Families. Child seats are available on request; give the ages when you reserve and the partner fits them before pickup.
Arriving in New York for the Open
The National Tennis Center is unusually close to LaGuardia: about 3 miles (5 km), around 10 minutes on a clear road. JFK is about 9.5 miles (15 km) away, Newark about 23 miles (38 km) and Teterboro about 19 miles (31 km). Most visitors still fly in, check into Manhattan, then go out to Queens, so the fixed fares into Midtown are the ones that matter. Your chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you inside arrivals with a name board; see airport transfers.
| Route | Distance | Clear-road drive | Elly8.net business sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LaGuardia (LGA) to Midtown | 9 mi / 14 km | about 17 min | from US$145 | US$380 |
| JFK to Midtown | 18 mi / 29 km | about 29 min | from US$210 | US$550 |
| Newark (EWR) to Midtown | 19 mi / 31 km | about 34 min | from US$215 | US$560 |
| Teterboro (TEB) to Midtown | 12 mi / 20 km | about 25 min | from US$170 | US$445 |
| Midtown to the National Tennis Center | about 10 mi / 16 km | about 19 min | hourly, from US$105 an hour | hourly, US$210 an hour |
Flying privately, Teterboro is the usual choice for Manhattan; send the tail number and FBO, and the car is staged before landing. See private jet and FBO car service. Airport-to-Flushing runs, for guests going straight from the plane to a session, price in the web booker.
Prices for the US Open
Prices on the New York price list do not change for the US Open. They are per vehicle, fixed and all-in, including the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
- By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum): US$105 in a business sedan, US$135 in a business SUV, US$160 in a First Class SUV, US$170 in a First Class Sedan and US$210 in an Executive Sprinter.
- Evening out and event night (5 hours): US$525 in a business sedan, US$675 in a business SUV, US$850 in a First Class Sedan and US$1,050 in a Sprinter. A good fit for a night session from Midtown.
- Full-day chauffeur (8 hours): from US$775 in a business sedan to US$1,550 in a Sprinter, for a day session followed by dinner in town.
- Corporate roadshow day (10 hours): from US$945 in a business sedan to US$1,890 in a Sprinter, for hosts collecting clients from several hotels.
- Airport transfers to Midtown: LaGuardia from US$145, JFK from US$210, Newark from US$215 and Teterboro from US$170.
All fares are on the New York fares panel. The second week, and especially the finals weekend, books out early in New York, so reserve as soon as your tickets are confirmed.
Honest alternatives: the 7 train and the LIRR
The tournament is right to push public transit, and for many fans it is the best way in. According to the US Open, the 7 train runs from Grand Central Terminal to Mets-Willets Point station, with connections for Metro-North trains from Westchester and Connecticut and service from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The Long Island Rail Road serves Mets-Willets Point from Woodside, with connections from Penn Station for New Jersey Transit riders; guests with disabilities are advised to change at 61st Street-Woodside for the 7 train. For one or two people near a 7 train station, with no bags and an open evening, the subway is cheap and quick.
Driving yourself is possible but restricted. Paid parking is listed by the tournament at US$40 a vehicle, with lots allocated by NYPD and lot staff and moved to other zones on Mets conflict dates, all subject to change. Parking near the stadium after a night session is not where most visitors want to be.
Taxis and app rides use the same Hall of Science lot as car services. They work well for an early-evening drop. The difference shows at the end of the night, when demand for app cars and cabs around Flushing peaks and prices rise with it, while a pre-booked chauffeur at a fixed hourly rate is already in the lot. If you are arriving from JFK, the yellow cab flat fare under the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission rules is US$70 to Manhattan plus surcharges, tolls and tip, a fair choice for one traveller. See chauffeur vs taxi and Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur for the full comparison.
The rest of a late-summer New York trip
The US Open overlaps with the busiest stretch of the New York autumn. In September the UN General Assembly's high-level week brings delegations and security zones to the East Side; our government and diplomatic transportation service is built for those days, with NDAs on request. Elly8.net arranges cars and chauffeurs, not security.
Late summer is also the end of the Hamptons season. The signature New York day trip is a 10-hour Hamptons day, from US$970 in a business sedan to US$1,935 in a Sprinter, and one-way trips run through our Hamptons car service. We run the same fixed-price service as a Westchester and Greenwich car service, Philadelphia car service, Hartford car service and Atlantic City limo service, and longer runs through city to city car service.

Frequently asked questions
When is the US Open 2027?
The USTA had not published the 2027 dates when this page was written. The tournament usually runs from late August into the second week of September; the 2026 tournament period ran from August 23, with the main draw from August 30, to September 13. We open 2027 bookings as soon as the dates are confirmed.
Where will my car drop me at the US Open?
In the parking lot within the New York Hall of Science, which the tournament designates for rideshare and black-car services. A walking path leads directly to the Champions' Entry, and a complimentary shuttle is available for guests who need assistance. Pickup is in the same lot.
How much is a car service to the US Open from Manhattan?
Most guests book by the hour: US$105 an hour in a business sedan, US$135 in a business SUV and US$210 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. A 5-hour evening package starts at US$525. Prices are per vehicle, fixed and all-in; tolls are billed at cost.
Will the chauffeur wait through a night session?
Yes, on an hourly or evening booking. The chauffeur waits in the official lot area and you message when you are ready to leave. If the session runs beyond your booked hours, the extra time is billed at the same hourly rate, so a five-set finish never strands you.
Is the 7 train faster than a car?
Often, at peak times. The 7 train runs from Grand Central to Mets-Willets Point, next to the grounds, and the LIRR serves the same station. A car is better for groups, families, guests with limited mobility, late finishes and anyone combining the tennis with dinner elsewhere.
Which airport is closest to the US Open?
LaGuardia, about 3 miles (5 km) from the National Tennis Center. LaGuardia to Midtown is fixed from US$145 in a business sedan. JFK is about 9.5 miles (15 km) away, and Teterboro is the usual choice for private aviation.
