Salone del Mobile.Milano 2027, the 65th edition, runs from Tuesday 13 to Sunday 18 April 2027 at Fiera Milano in Rho, on the north-west edge of Milan. The organiser describes it as reserved for operators in the sector, with the general public admitted on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April, and the 2027 edition adds the debut of Salone Contract and the second edition of Salone Raritas. At the same time, Milan Design Week fills the city itself with showrooms, installations and parties, from Brera to Tortona.
That split is the transport problem. The fair is about 12 km (8 mi) from the centre, and the events you want in the evening are back in town. Elly8.net solves it with a chauffeur who meets you at Malpensa or Linate, a car by the hour that runs you out to Rho and back, and an evening car for the Design Week calendar, at fixed, all-in prices that do not change for the fair.
How do you get to Fiera Milano Rho and back into town?
By car it is about 12 km (8 mi) from the Quadrilatero della Moda, roughly 20 minutes on a clear road, much longer at opening and closing. Take the M1 metro to Rho Fieramilano if you are alone and travelling light; book a chauffeur by the hour if you need to be at the fair and in town on the same day.
During Salone, the halls at Fiera Milano Rho open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for trade visitors (8:30 a.m. for press). Everyone arrives in the same hour and leaves in the same hour, and the roads between Rho, the A4 and A8 motorways and the city carry the whole crowd at once. On our routing, the fair is about 12 km (8 mi) from the Quadrilatero della Moda, about 39 km (24 mi) from Malpensa and about 20 km (12 mi) from Linate.
The evening is in Milan. Design Week showrooms, brand presentations and dinners spread across districts such as Brera, Tortona and Isola, and they peak exactly when the fair closes. A car by the hour lets you leave Rho at 5 p.m., change at the hotel and be at the first opening in Brera by 7, without a metro change in between.
Arriving in Milan: Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo
Milan has three airports on the price list, all priced to the Quadrilatero della Moda, per vehicle and all-in:
| Airport | Distance to the centre | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Malpensa (MXP) | 47 km (29 mi), about 51 min clear | US$230 | US$300 | US$405 | US$600 |
| Linate (LIN) | 9 km (6 mi), about 17 min clear | US$110 | US$145 | US$195 | US$290 |
| Bergamo (BGY) | 55 km (34 mi), about 53 min clear | US$250 | US$325 | US$440 | US$650 |
Most flights from North America land at Malpensa. If you are heading straight to the fair, Rho is actually closer to Malpensa than the city centre is; enter Fiera Milano Rho in the web booker for a fixed price. The chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you inside arrivals with a name board and waits at no charge after a tracked landing. Linate handles many European flights and is only 17 minutes from the centre on a clear road. A Malpensa round trip is priced from US$440 in a business sedan to US$1,140 in an Executive Sprinter. See airport transfers and meet and greet.
The Salone day plan with an hourly chauffeur
Morning. The car collects you at your hotel about an hour before your first appointment at the fair. That buffer covers the drive out of the centre and the queue of cars and coaches at the fairground entrances.
At the fair. Exhibitor meetings, hall walks and lunch take most of the day. The chauffeur drops you at the entrance you choose, holds in the area or returns at the time you set, and meets you at an agreed point confirmed by text. If you leave at midday for a showroom in town and come back, the car is already there.
Evening. Design Week openings, brand dinners and parties follow the fair. The evening out and event night package keeps one car and chauffeur for five hours, from US$450 in a business sedan to US$900 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur follows local rules on drinks in vehicles.
Packages for the fair, per vehicle and all-in:
| Package | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$90 per hour | US$115 per hour | US$145 per hour | US$180 per hour |
| Evening out & event night (5 hours) | US$450 | US$575 | US$725 | US$900 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$665 | US$850 | US$1,070 | US$1,325 |
| Corporate roadshow day (10 hours) | US$810 | US$1,035 | US$1,305 | US$1,620 |
A fair day plus a Design Week evening is usually a ten-hour day; the corporate roadshow day covers it in one booking, and our roadshow chauffeur page explains how long multi-stop days are scheduled. Shorter days work by the hour. Prices include the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; motorway tolls, fairground parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
Exhibitors, design studios and buyer groups
Exhibitors often move a stand team every morning, and design studios bring groups of architects, buyers and clients to see the fair and the city in two days. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers with luggage and costs US$180 per hour in Milan, and it keeps the group together between hotel, fair and dinner. For a delegation that splits during the day, book one Sprinter for the group runs and sedans for individual meetings, all under one reference. See conference transportation, group transportation and Sprinter van hire with a driver.
A corporate account puts every ride on one monthly invoice with a reference per traveller, which suits brands and studios sending teams every year. Agencies organising buyer trips can book through travel-agent accounts, and companies with regular Milan travel can use our corporate car service. The desk signs NDAs on request for product launches and confidential meetings; Elly8.net provides transportation, not security.
Salone transport options compared honestly
| Option | Cost | Best for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| M1 metro to Rho Fieramilano | €2.20 ordinary Mi1-Mi3 ticket, €7.60 daily ticket | Solo visitors, light bags, hotels near the M1 or an interchange | Packed at opening and closing; the evening is back in town |
| Malpensa Express plus M1 | Train fare plus metro | Solo travellers from Malpensa | Change at Cadorna; luggage on the metro |
| Self-drive and fair parking | €14.50 up to 4 hours, €20 all day | Drivers from outside Milan | Traffic, parking walk, driving into the centre at night |
| Taxi or app ride | Metered or dynamic pricing | Single trips off-peak | Long waits at the fair at closing time |
| Elly8.net chauffeur by the hour | From US$90 per hour, 3-hour minimum | Executives, studios, buyer groups, fair-plus-city days | Book ahead; fair week books out early |
Public transport to the fair is good, and the organiser's how to get there page sets it out in detail. The M1 red line runs to Rho Fieramilano, its last stop, with interchanges at Cadorna-Triennale, Loreto, Duomo, San Babila and Lotto; the ordinary Mi1-Mi3 ticket costs €2.20 and a 24-hour ticket €7.60. Suburban S-lines also stop at Rho-Fiera. From Malpensa Terminal 1, the Malpensa Express runs to Cadorna every 30 minutes in about 37 minutes, and you continue on the M1. Fair parking has about 10,000 spaces, at €14.50 for up to four hours or €20 for the day.
If you are one visitor with a backpack and a single day at the fair, the metro is hard to beat. A chauffeur wins when you are hosting clients, carrying samples, arriving with luggage, moving a group, or need the fair in the morning and Brera at night. There is no surge on a fixed price. For the general comparisons, see chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs car rental.
Opening days, rules and the week around the fair
The organiser's visitor information sets the 2027 rules: trade operators every day, suppliers and manufacturers of the furnishing sector from Friday 16 April, students on 16, 17 and 18 April, and the general public on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April. Opening hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and children under 10 are not admitted. Dates and the edition programme are on the Salone del Mobile 2027 announcement.
Many visitors add a day out after the fair. The signature Lake Como day trip (8 hours) is priced from US$665 in a business sedan to US$1,325 in an Executive Sprinter. Elly8.net also covers Lake Como, St. Moritz, Zurich and Monaco, and a city-to-city car service connects them. More on Milan itself is on our Milan car service page. Flights and hotels can be booked through our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the car.

The 65th Salone del Mobile.Milano runs from Tuesday 13 to Sunday 18 April 2027 at Fiera Milano in Rho. It is a trade event, open to the general public on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Milan Design Week events run in the city at the same time.
How far is Fiera Milano Rho from central Milan?
About 12 km (8 mi) from the Quadrilatero della Moda on our routing, roughly 20 minutes on a clear road and considerably longer when the fair opens and closes. From Malpensa it is about 39 km (24 mi), and from Linate about 20 km (12 mi).
How much is a chauffeur for a fair day?
By the hour from US$90 in a business sedan, US$115 in a business SUV and US$180 in an Executive Sprinter, three hours minimum. The full-day chauffeur is US$665 for eight hours and the corporate roadshow day US$810 for ten hours in a business sedan, all-in per vehicle.
What does a Malpensa transfer cost during Salone?
The price does not change for the fair. Malpensa to the Quadrilatero della Moda is US$230 in a business sedan, US$300 in a business SUV and US$600 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in, with meet and greet in arrivals. For a direct transfer to the fairground, the web booker shows the fixed price.
Should I take the metro instead?
If you are alone with light luggage, the M1 to Rho Fieramilano is quick and cheap, at €2.20 for the ordinary ticket. A chauffeur is better for groups, samples, client hosting, luggage and days that combine the fair with Design Week events in town.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup and it is free. At 72 hours or less the fee is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100%. Refunds go to the original card. Times and addresses can be changed through the 24/7 desk.
Can you move an exhibitor team or a buyer group?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers and costs US$180 per hour in Milan. Larger groups book several vehicles under one reference, and corporate accounts receive one monthly invoice with a reference per traveller.
Can I bring children to the fair?
The organiser does not admit children under 10, as Salone is a commercial event. If you are travelling as a family, child seats are available on request for city and airport journeys, and the Lake Como day trip is a popular way to spend the public days together.
