Gasparilla Pirate Fest 2027 is on Saturday, January 30, 2027, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., according to the official schedule of events. The pirate ship sails into downtown, the Captain demands the key to the city, and the Parade of Pirates marches along Bayshore Boulevard into downtown Tampa. The City of Tampa expects more than 300,000 spectators along the parade routes, and many streets close for the day.
That is the transport problem in one sentence: the parts of Tampa you want to reach are the parts you cannot drive into. A pre-booked Elly8.net car sets you down at an agreed point outside the closures and collects you at another, at a fixed, all-in price: Tampa International Airport (TPA) to downtown from US$120 in a business sedan, and a 5-hour evening package from US$475. Rides in Tampa are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How do you get to the Gasparilla parade without parking?
Book a car with a drop-off point outside the street closures and a pickup time and place agreed before you leave the vehicle. The organiser warns that parking is limited and that neighborhood parking near the route is not permitted. An Elly8.net evening package, from US$475 for 5 hours, includes the ride in, the wait and the ride back.
The organiser's parking and transportation page is blunt about cars. Parking is available in city-run garages and lots across downtown at a special event rate paid on entry, and some businesses sell passes for their private lots in advance. Parking in the neighborhoods bordering the parade route is not permitted, Tampa Police enforce the event policies, and towing is strictly enforced along the route. The organiser suggests carpooling or a ride-share instead.
A chauffeured car is the comfortable version of that advice. You are not looking for a space, you are not walking back to a garage after dark, and nobody in the group has to drive home.
The day, hour by hour
The official schedule for Saturday, January 30, 2027:
- 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Gasparilla Invasion Brunch at the Tampa Convention Center, a ticketed brunch with a view of the invasion.
- 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Invasion. The Jose Gasparilla sails north across the bay and up the Seddon Channel with a flotilla of hundreds of vessels, docking at the Tampa Convention Center basin at 1:00 p.m., when the Captain meets the Mayor to demand the key to the city.
- 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Parade of Pirates, a victory parade on a 4.5-mile route along Bayshore Boulevard and Hillsborough Bay into downtown. The organiser's Pirate Fest page puts it at about 140 units of krewes, floats, marching bands and social organizations, presented by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla annually since 1904.
- 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Live music on stages at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (Ashley Drive and Twiggs Street) and MacDill Park (Ashley Drive and Whiting Street), before and after the parade.
The event is free; reserved parade seating and the brunch are ticketed. Gasparilla week has two other dates worth knowing: Children's Gasparilla on Saturday, January 23, 2027, and the Outbound Voyage on Saturday, February 27, 2027.
The transport problem: closures, crossings and crowds
The City of Tampa's Gasparilla page says many streets will be closed to accommodate the parades and that street closures, parade routes and event details will be posted as the dates get closer. The organiser's 2027 parade map was still marked as to be decided when this page was written. Check both before you finalize times; the desk does the same before setting your drop-off.
Three practical rules shape the day:
- Bayshore splits the city. The organiser's FAQ strongly advises guests to cross Bayshore before the parade starts. Once it is under way, guests with reserved seating may only be escorted across at reserved seating gates during a break, when police allow it. Choose your side of the boulevard before you set the drop-off.
- Arrive early. Viewing space along the route is first come, first served from dawn, and reserved seat holders who arrive late may not reach their seats once the parade has started.
- Pickups move outward. After the parade, the crowds leaving downtown and South Tampa fill the streets that reopen first. The chauffeur waits at a pickup point a short walk from the crowd, agreed with you in advance, and messages you if it has to move.
The FAQ also lists what is not allowed: coolers and glass containers are prohibited on the parade route, and outside food and drink is not permitted. Beer and wine are sold in charity beer gardens for guests 21 and over with ID. In the car, the chauffeur follows Florida rules on what may be carried, and that applies to every party booking.
Arriving for Gasparilla: TPA
Tampa International is about 7 miles (12 km) from downtown, roughly 15 minutes on a clear road; on Gasparilla weekend, allow longer. Your Elly8.net chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you inside the airport with a name board on the Baggage Claim Level, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. See airport transfers and meet and greet.
| Option | TPA to downtown Tampa | Where it meets you | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$120 fixed, all-in | Inside the terminal, name board | Arrivals with a plan for the day |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$315 fixed, all-in | Inside the terminal, name board | Groups of up to the Sprinter's capacity with bags |
| Airport taxi | US$40 flat rate to downtown and the cruise terminal | Red 1 and Blue 2 curbside | One or two travelers, light bags |
| App ride (Uber, Lyft, Wridz) | Varies, plus a US$5 airport fee | Red or Blue Express Curbside, SkyCenter One | Flexible travelers |
The taxi and app-ride details are from the TPA ground transportation page. A round trip from TPA to downtown is fixed from US$230 in a business sedan to US$600 in an Executive Sprinter.
The plan for parade day
Before the invasion. For the brunch or a spot on the waterfront, set an early drop-off at an agreed point outside the downtown closures, then walk the last stretch. Business SUVs suit four guests; an Executive Sprinter with driver takes a larger group in one vehicle.
The parade and the evening: one package. The 5-hour evening out and event night package is fixed from US$475 in a business sedan, US$600 in a business SUV, US$725 in a First Class SUV, US$775 in a First Class Sedan and US$950 in an Executive Sprinter. It covers the drop-off, the wait and the return, with the car parked away from the route while you watch.
A longer day. If you are going from the invasion through the parade to dinner, book by the hour, as directed, with a 3-hour minimum: US$95 an hour in a business sedan to US$190 in a Sprinter, or the 8-hour full-day chauffeur from US$700 to US$1,400. See car service by the hour.
Groups and parties. Krewe guests, company hospitality and birthday groups often book several vehicles. Our party bus rental, concert and festival transportation and group transportation pages explain how the desk stages larger groups. Tell us everyone's hotel and the desk plans the pickup order.
Accessibility. The organiser lists a free viewing area for patrons with disabilities at Ashley Drive and Whiting Street downtown, and a limited number of disabled parking spaces in the Fort Brooke Garage, first come, first served, with a permit. If someone in your party uses a wheelchair, tell the desk when you book so we send the right vehicle and plan the drop-off around those points.
Prices for Gasparilla: the Tampa packages
Prices on the Tampa price list do not change for Gasparilla. They are per vehicle, fixed and all-in, and include the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
| Package | Business sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TPA to downtown Tampa | US$120 | US$160 | US$210 | US$315 |
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$95 / hr | US$120 / hr | US$155 / hr | US$190 / hr |
| Evening out and event night (5 hours) | US$475 | US$600 | US$775 | US$950 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$700 | US$885 | US$1,145 | US$1,400 |
The First Class SUV is US$195 from TPA and US$145 an hour. Every price is on the Tampa fares panel, and vehicle sizes are on the fleet page. Gasparilla Saturday is one of the busiest days of the year for chauffeured cars in Tampa, and SUVs and Sprinters go first. Reserve now to fix the vehicle and the price.
Honest alternatives
For a local couple in South Tampa, walking to Bayshore is the best option of all. For visitors downtown, the downtown streetcar and buses are part of the plan: the organiser's FAQ says a PDF of the streetcar and bus services for Pirate Fest will be published ahead of the event. App rides work early in the day; after the parade, pickups in the crowd are slow and prices often rise with demand. From the airport, the US$40 taxi flat rate to downtown is good value for one or two people with light bags.
A pre-booked car wins for groups, families with child seats, guests with limited mobility, visitors who want a fixed price and a set pickup point, and anyone heading on to dinner. For the wider comparison, read chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs taxi.
Make a weekend of it
The signature Tampa package is a 6-hour day to Clearwater Beach and St. Pete, fixed from US$525 in a business sedan to US$1,050 in a Sprinter; the private city tour runs from US$380 to US$760. Port Tampa Bay is on the edge of downtown, and our cruise port transfers cover weekend sailings.
The same fixed-price service runs as an Orlando car service, a Naples, Florida chauffeur, Jacksonville airport transfers, a Palm Beach car service, Fort Lauderdale airport transfers and a Miami car service.

Can a car drive me to the parade route?
Not into it. Bayshore Boulevard and many downtown streets close for the parade, and the city posts the closures closer to the date. The chauffeur sets you down at an agreed point outside the closures and collects you at a pickup point you agree before you leave the car.
How much is a car for Gasparilla?
The 5-hour evening out and event night package is fixed from US$475 in a business sedan to US$950 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in. Hourly service starts at US$95 an hour with a 3-hour minimum. From TPA to downtown Tampa, fixed fares start at US$120.
Where should we meet the car after the parade?
At the point you agree with the chauffeur before the drop-off, usually a few blocks from the crowd on a street that reopens early. The chauffeur messages you if police direct the car elsewhere. Pick a spot on your side of Bayshore, because crossing during the parade is restricted.

Yes, in more than one vehicle or a combination of Sprinter and SUV, depending on numbers and bags. Tell the desk the size of the group and everyone's hotel. Larger groups can also look at our party bus options.
Can we drink in the car?
No. The chauffeur follows Florida rules on what may be carried in the vehicle. Beer and wine are sold at the event's charity beer gardens to guests 21 and over with ID; coolers and glass are not allowed on the parade route.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less a 10% fee applies, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go to the original card.
