FITUR 2027, the International Tourism Trade Fair, runs from Wednesday 20 to Sunday 24 January 2027 at IFEMA MADRID, with Puerto Rico as partner country, according to IFEMA. The 47th edition will occupy eleven halls, two more than last time. In January 2026, the organisers report, FITUR drew 255,000 visitors and more than 10,000 companies from 161 countries. Tourism boards, hotel groups, airlines, tour operators and travel technology firms all send teams, many of them from the Americas.
Elly8.net books FITUR transportation for the way the fair works: a chauffeur at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas on arrival, a car from your hotel to IFEMA each trade day, and a chauffeur by the hour for stand meetings, off-site appointments and the dinners and receptions that fill the evenings. Madrid prices are fixed, all-in and charged in US dollars, and the price list does not change for the fair.
How do you get to IFEMA for FITUR?
IFEMA sits beside Barajas, about 7 km (5 mi) from the airport and 15 km (9 mi) from the Salamanca district. Metro line 8 stops opposite the South entrance and runs to the airport. For teams with meetings, sample boxes or hotel pickups across the city, a pre-booked chauffeur gives a fixed price and a car waiting at an agreed entrance.
The fairground's location is an advantage on arrival day: the airport is close, and IFEMA says Barajas is about ten minutes from the venue. The challenge is the hours around opening and closing on the trade days, when tens of thousands of professionals arrive and leave together. The M-40, the M-11 and the A-2 around the site fill up, the taxi ranks inside the grounds queue, and a stand meeting that runs late turns into a long wait on the kerb.
A chauffeur who drops you at the right entrance, then meets you at an agreed point when you text, solves that. Tell the desk which hall your stand is in, and the chauffeur uses the closest entrance.
FITUR 2027: trade days and the public weekend
- Trade days, Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 January. Weekdays are reserved for accredited professionals, according to the FITUR FAQs, with their own schedules of conferences, forums and presentations.
- Public weekend, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January. FITUR opens to the general public, and the fair becomes a travel festival for end travellers.
- Scale. The FAQs give the previous edition as 155,000 accredited professionals and 100,000 general public visitors.
Exhibitor teams often arrive before the opening for stand set-up, so book the airport leg to match your build-up schedule. Delegations from tourism boards often run a full programme of meetings, presentations and receptions across the three trade days, which is where a car by the hour pays for itself.
The roads and entrances around IFEMA
IFEMA lists its road access as the M-11 (exits 5 and 7), the M-40 (exits 5, 6 and 7) and the A-2 (exit 7), with car parks reached from the South, North and East entrances. Which entrance is best depends on your hall and on where you are coming from: a hotel on the Castellana usually means the A-2 or the M-11, while an airport transfer can come in on the M-40.
That is local knowledge your chauffeur brings. Give the desk your hall number when you book, and the chauffeur chooses the approach and the entrance, avoids the car park queues at opening time, and agrees the pickup point for the afternoon. If your day changes, a text to the chauffeur moves the pickup to another entrance.
Arriving at Barajas for FITUR
Madrid-Barajas has two terminal complexes: Terminals 1, 2 and 3 side by side, and Terminal 4 with its satellite T4S, several kilometres away and home to Iberia and its partners. The chauffeur checks which terminal your flight uses, tracks the landing and waits in that arrivals hall with a name board. Morning arrivals from North and South America often coincide, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. Terminal information is on the Aena website.

A direct transfer from the airport to IFEMA, for exhibitors going straight to set-up, is booked through the web booker with a fixed quote. See Madrid airport transfers and meet and greet. Delegations flying privately can be met at the FBO named in the booking; see private jet and FBO car service.
The trade-day plan with a chauffeur by the hour
Morning. The chauffeur collects you at your hotel, whether on the Paseo de la Castellana, in Salamanca, around the Gran Vía or near the fairground, and drops you at the entrance closest to your hall before the doors open. The desk can stack colleagues from different hotels into one Executive Sprinter.
During the day. If you are leaving IFEMA for a meeting in the city, a lunch or a hotel site visit, the chauffeur meets you at the agreed entrance. A chauffeur by the hour costs from US$85 in a business sedan, US$110 in a business SUV or van and US$170 in an Executive Sprinter, with a three-hour minimum.
Evening. Tourism boards and companies host receptions and dinners across Madrid during FITUR week, and Madrid dines late. The evening out and event night package keeps one car and chauffeur for five hours, from US$425 in a business sedan to US$850 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur follows local rules on drinks in vehicles.
For a full trade day that ends after dinner, the ten-hour corporate roadshow day is usually the simplest booking; see roadshow chauffeur. For shorter windows, book by the hour. Our conference and trade show transportation page explains multi-day plans with standby cars.
Tourism boards, delegations and exhibitor teams
FITUR is a fair of delegations. A national or regional tourism board may bring a minister or director, a team of sales managers and a group of industry partners, each with a different schedule. The desk can run a First Class sedan for the head of delegation, sedans for the managers and an Executive Sprinter for group moves between the hotel, IFEMA and receptions, all under one reference. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers with luggage; in Madrid the business van is a Mercedes-Benz V-Class for up to six.
Discretion and protocol matter for official visitors. The desk signs NDAs on request, chauffeurs are briefed only on the names and routes you approve, and the itinerary goes only to people you specify. Elly8.net provides transportation, not security; protective details should be arranged separately. See government, diplomatic and delegation transportation and group transportation.
A corporate account puts the week on one monthly invoice with a reference per traveller. Travel agencies and destination management companies booking for clients can use travel-agent accounts, and hotels can arrange cars for guests through hotel accounts.

Honest alternatives: metro, bus and taxi
Madrid's public options to IFEMA are good, and for many visitors they are the right choice. The IFEMA how-to-get-there page explains them.
| Option | Cost | Best for | Weak point in fair week |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro line 8 | Metro fare, per person | Light bags, hotels near a line 8 connection | Crowded at opening and closing; changes from most hotels |
| City buses 73, 112, 122 | Bus fare, per person | Budget trips from Diego de León, Mar de Cristal or Avenida de América | Slow at peak times |
| Taxi | Metered in town; €33 flat airport fare inside the M-30; €3 supplement to enter or leave the grounds | Spontaneous single trips | Queues at the IFEMA ranks at closing |
| Rideshare | Dynamic pricing | Off-peak hops | Surge and waits at closing time |
| Elly8.net chauffeur | Barajas from US$120; by the hour from US$85 | Delegations, executives, exhibitor teams | Book early for trade days |
IFEMA says metro line 8 stops opposite its South entrance and connects to the airport terminals, that city bus lines 73, 112 and 122 serve the fairground, and that there are three taxi ranks inside the grounds, at the South, North and East entrances, with a €3.00 supplement to enter or leave the facilities. Madrid's airport taxi charges a flat €33 to any address inside the M-30 ring road, as the city's tourism board explains on getting around Madrid by taxi. For one visitor with a badge and a laptop bag, the metro is fine. For a delegation, a team with display materials, a chief executive with a full schedule, or anyone heading to dinner in Salamanca at 10 pm, the waiting chauffeur wins. After the fair: Toledo and onward travel
Guests who stay for the weekend often take a day in Toledo. The signature Madrid day trip, eight hours, costs from US$630 in a business sedan to US$1,255 in an Executive Sprinter; see private city tours.
FITUR is also a starting point for trips around Iberia. Elly8.net covers Barcelona, Seville, Marbella and Malaga, Lisbon, Porto and Ibiza, and a city-to-city car service or a train with a car on arrival connects them.
