A Tucson airport car service is a chauffeur who knows your flight before you board it, waits inside arrivals with your name, and drives you to a price you agreed when you booked. At Tucson International Airport (TUS) that matters less for the short hop downtown on a weekday afternoon and much more for a midnight landing heading to the Catalina Foothills, a family with car seats, or a gem show buyer with cases that will not fit in a taxi trunk.
With Elly8.net, TUS to downtown Tucson is a flat US$130 in a Business Sedan, US$170 in a Business SUV and US$340 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. The fare is the same in either direction, and it includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. This guide walks through exactly what happens on the day, how waiting works, and how to choose the vehicle for your luggage.
How much is a car service from Tucson airport?
A pre-booked Elly8.net car between Tucson International Airport (TUS) and downtown Tucson is US$130 in a Business Sedan, US$170 in a Business SUV, US$210 in a First Class SUV, US$230 in a First Class Sedan and US$340 in an Executive Sprinter. Fares are flat, all-in and per vehicle, in either direction.
The round trip to downtown runs from US$250 in a Business Sedan to US$650 in an Executive Sprinter. For any other address, such as a resort in the foothills, a home in Oro Valley or Marana, or the University of Arizona, the web booker quotes a fixed fare the moment you enter it. The full list is on the Tucson fares panel.
Before you fly: what to give the desk
A smooth pickup is decided when you book, not when you land. The booking form asks for a few details, and each one has a job.
- Flight number and airline. This is what the chauffeur tracks. Give the flight that actually lands at TUS, not the first leg of a connection.
- Number of passengers and bags. Include golf bags, gem cases, strollers and anything oversized. It decides the vehicle.
- The drop-off address, in full. Resort names are not enough when a property has several entrances; add the building or lobby if you know it.
- A mobile number that works on landing. The chauffeur's details arrive before you fly, and the 24/7 desk can reach you if anything changes.
- Child seats. Give each child's age and weight so the right seat is fitted before the car leaves for the airport.
Confirmation arrives by email. If your plans change, contact the desk early; time changes are usually possible, and cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup.
On the day: from touchdown to the car
Here is what a standard arrival looks like with Elly8.net at TUS.
- Your flight is tracked. If it lands early, the chauffeur is there early. If it is delayed, the pickup time moves with it and you do not need to call anyone.
- You walk to baggage claim. TUS is a compact airport and the walk is short. The chauffeur waits inside arrivals at baggage claim, holding a name board.
- The chauffeur helps with the bags. Once your luggage is on the carousel, the chauffeur takes it and walks you to the car at the curb.
- The route north is chosen on the day. Downtown is about 9 miles (15 km) away and around 18 minutes on a clear road. Weekday afternoons around the I-10 interchanges add time; the price stays fixed.
- Drop-off at the door. The chauffeur unloads at your hotel, home or office, and the trip is complete. There is nothing to settle at the end because gratuity and taxes were included at booking.
Departures work in reverse. Give the desk your flight time and airline, and the chauffeur plans a pickup that gets you to the terminal with time for bag drop and security. The fare is the same flat price as the arrival. For how pickups work across the network, see airport transfers and airport meet and greet.
Waiting time: what is included and what is not
This is the question travellers ask most, and it has a straightforward answer.
Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included. Because the chauffeur works from the actual landing time, a delay on your inbound flight does not use up your waiting time or cost you more. That is the main difference between a tracked pickup and a booking made for a fixed clock time.
Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost. If bags are lost and you are at the baggage office for a long time, or you stop for a meal before leaving the airport, the extra waiting is added at cost. Tell the chauffeur or the desk and they will tell you where you stand.
Hourly bookings work differently. If you book by the hour, from US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan with a 3-hour minimum, the car is yours for the booked block and waiting is simply part of it. That suits a day that starts at the airport and continues to meetings or a show. See hourly chauffeur.
Choosing the vehicle for your bags
The fleet page lists seats for each class. The simplest rule is to book by passengers first and step up a size if the luggage is heavy.
| Vehicle | Seats | TUS to downtown, flat | Typical traveller |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | 3 | US$130 | one or two travellers with standard suitcases |
| First Class Sedan | 3 | US$230 | executives and VIP arrivals |
| Business SUV | 6 | US$170 | families, golf bags, gem show cases |
| First Class SUV | 6 | US$210 | families wanting a premium cabin, resort arrivals |
| Executive Sprinter | 12 | US$340 | teams, wedding groups, buyers with sample cases |
A family of four with two large suitcases each, a stroller and a car seat is an SUV, not a sedan. A golf group of four with clubs is an SUV at minimum, and a Sprinter if the group would rather not stack bags on laps. Gem and Mineral Show exhibitors with cases and display stands should book a Sprinter or two SUVs. When in doubt, tell the desk the bag count and the size of the biggest item.
Flat rate vs metered: why it matters in Tucson
Taxis at the TUS curb run on the meter, and rideshare prices move with demand. Neither is a problem on a quiet afternoon for one or two people going downtown, and the free bus is cheaper still. Sun Tran is fare-free on every service, and its route finder shows Route 25 (S. Park Avenue) running between downtown and Tucson International Airport and Route 11 (Alvernon) also serving the airport.
The flat rate matters when the variables stack up: a late landing, a long drive to the foothills, a family with seats, or a week when every hotel in town is full. During the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, February 11-14, 2027, and the Tucson Rodeo, February 20-28, 2027, demand for ground transport rises across the city. A fare fixed weeks earlier does not.

Five small mistakes that slow a TUS pickup
The desk sees the same handful of problems every season. None is serious, and all are easy to avoid.
- Booking the connecting flight number. If you connect through a hub, give the flight that lands in Tucson. The chauffeur tracks that one.
- Forgetting the oversized item. A bike box or a display stand changes the vehicle. Mention it when you book, not at the carousel.
- Leaving the phone in airplane mode. Switch it on when you land so the chauffeur's message reaches you if you exit by a different route.
- Walking straight out to the curb. The chauffeur is inside arrivals at baggage claim with a name board. Look there first.
- Booking a sedan for three adults with large cases. The sedan seats three, but three large checked bags plus carry-ons can make the trunk a squeeze. An SUV costs US$40 more on the downtown run and removes the problem.
Resorts, the university and longer drives
Downtown is the reference point on the price list, but many TUS arrivals go elsewhere.
Foothills resorts and spas. Properties in the Catalina Foothills and on the edges of the metro area are the classic late-flight drive. Enter the resort in the web booker for a fixed fare, and give the lobby name so the chauffeur goes to the right door.
The University of Arizona. Move-in weekends, campus visits and graduation bring families with a lot of luggage. An SUV or Sprinter keeps everyone and everything in one vehicle.
Phoenix Sky Harbor. Many Tucson travellers fly in or out of Phoenix instead. Enter both addresses in the booker and the drive is quoted as one fixed fare; our city to city car service page explains long one-way trips. See the Phoenix and Scottsdale pages if your trip continues there.
Private aviation. Arriving on a private flight? Give the desk the tail number and the FBO, and the chauffeur waits at the right lobby. See private jet and FBO car service.
Corporate travel and accounts
Tucson's business visitors come for the university and its research partners, aerospace and defence suppliers, health care and the gem trade. Travel managers usually want three things from an airport car service: a known price, a named chauffeur and one invoice. Corporate accounts include monthly invoicing, saved traveller profiles and NDAs on request, with the same fixed prices in every Elly8.net city. The corporate roadshow day, from US$855 in a Business Sedan to US$1,710 in an Executive Sprinter, keeps one chauffeur with a visitor from the airport to the last meeting. More on corporate car service.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Tucson airport car service fare the same to and from the airport?
Yes. Every TUS fare on the Elly8.net price list is the same fixed price in either direction. Downtown to the airport in a Business Sedan is US$130, exactly the same as the arrival. The price includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet; tolls and parking are billed at cost.
What happens if a flight into TUS is delayed?
Nothing changes on your side. The chauffeur tracks the flight and adjusts to the actual landing, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included. You do not need to call the desk to move the pickup, though you can reach the 24/7 desk at any time if your plans change.
Where exactly does the chauffeur meet you?
Inside arrivals at baggage claim, holding a name board with your name. You do not need to find the taxi rank or the rideshare pickup area. Once you have your bags, the chauffeur walks you to the car waiting at the curb and handles the luggage.
Which vehicle suits golf clubs or gem show cases?
Book a Business SUV at minimum, which seats up to six, and an Executive Sprinter for larger groups or heavy cases. Tell the desk the number and size of bags when you book. A sedan seats three and suits standard suitcases, not oversized equipment.
How early should the departure pickup be?
Give the desk your airline and departure time and the chauffeur plans the pickup. Downtown to TUS is about 18 minutes on a clear road, but allow extra for weekday traffic, bag drop and security. Foothills and Oro Valley pickups need more time; the desk will suggest a pickup time when you book.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show it is 100%. Refunds go back to the original card.
