The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2027 takes place in Davos from Monday 18 January to Friday 22 January 2027, with the Davos Congress Centre at its centre. The official Davos tourism site expects around 3,000 participants: heads of state and government, chief executives, leaders of international organisations and civil society. Around them come their teams, the media and thousands of guests at side events in hotels and shopfronts along the Promenade.
Almost all of them land at Zurich Airport. Davos is a mountain town about 160 km (99 mi) from the airport by road, and in January the meeting turns that drive into a planned operation: security zones in Davos, police-escorted convoys for the most senior guests, heavy traffic in both directions at the start and end of the week, and winter mountain roads. Elly8.net books the Zurich side of the journey at fixed, published prices, and the Davos transfer and on-site cars through the desk, as early as possible.
How do you get from Zurich Airport to Davos for the WEF?
Pre-book a chauffeured transfer from Zurich Airport to your Davos hotel, timed to your flight, or take the train, which involves changes and takes around two and a half hours or more. The drive is about 160 km (99 mi), a little over two hours on a clear road; in WEF week and in snow, allow longer.
On our routing, the road from Zurich Airport to Davos runs about 160 km (99 mi) and takes about 2 hours 10 minutes on a clear road, via the motorway towards Chur, then the mountain road up the Prättigau valley through Klosters. In January that road can be slowed by snow, and during the Annual Meeting by convoys, checkpoints and the sheer number of vehicles heading the same way on Sunday and Monday.
Davos is not on our city list, so the Davos transfer is booked through the web booker or the desk rather than the price list. The Zurich prices below are fixed and published; for Davos, the price is shown before you reserve, and availability for WEF week is confirmed at booking. Book as soon as your participation is confirmed.
Arriving at Zurich Airport
Zürich Airport (ZRH) is about 15 km (9 mi) from Bahnhofstrasse in the city centre, roughly 21 minutes on a clear road. During WEF week the airport also handles a large wave of business jets, and general aviation slots are tightly controlled. The chauffeur meets you inside arrivals, tracking the flight, with a name board and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing; for private aircraft, at the general aviation terminal named in the booking. See private jet FBO transfers and the Zurich Airport passenger pages.
| Route or package (Zurich) | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZRH to Bahnhofstrasse | US$135 | US$180 | US$240 | US$355 |
| ZRH round trip to Bahnhofstrasse | US$260 | US$345 | US$460 | US$675 |
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$100 | US$125 | US$160 | US$200 |
| Evening out and event night (5 hours) | US$500 | US$625 | US$800 | US$1,000 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$740 | US$920 | US$1,180 | US$1,475 |
| Corporate roadshow day (10 hours) | US$900 | US$1,125 | US$1,440 | US$1,800 |
Prices are per vehicle and all-in, including the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; a first class SUV is US$220 from ZRH. The full list is on the Zurich city page. Transfers to Davos, Klosters and other addresses outside Zurich are priced in the web booker; see city-to-city car service and airport transfers.
Why many delegations spend a day in Zurich
A common pattern for executives and delegations is to land in Zurich a day early or leave a day late. Zurich is the financial centre of Switzerland, and a day of meetings with banks, investors and clients on either side of Davos makes the long-haul trip more productive.
For that day, the 10-hour corporate roadshow day is US$900 in a business sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter, and the full-day chauffeur (8 hours) is US$740 to US$1,475. The chauffeur waits between meetings around Paradeplatz, Bahnhofstrasse and the lake, and takes you to the evening dinner. Read how a roadshow chauffeur day is scheduled, and see corporate car service for company bookings.
An evening in Zurich before the mountain drive also avoids the worst of the Sunday and Monday rush to Davos. Leave on a weekday morning instead of following the convoys up on the first afternoon.
The Davos transfer, planned
Timing. The heaviest traffic up the valley is at the start of the meeting and the heaviest down at the end. If your programme allows, travel earlier on Sunday or later on Friday. The desk plans pickup times from your flight and your first commitment in Davos.
The route. The chauffeur takes the motorway to the Landquart area and then the road up to Klosters and Davos. In heavy snow, mountain roads can close or slow to a crawl; the desk monitors conditions and will contact you if timings need to change.
Arrival in Davos. During the Annual Meeting, parts of Davos are under security control, with restricted access around the Congress Centre and checkpoints in the town. Private vehicles drop off where the police arrangements allow; send the desk any access instructions you receive from the Forum or your host.
The return. Book it when you book the arrival. Friday afternoon flights out of Zurich are in demand, and the drive down can take longer than the drive up.
Who travels to Davos, and what each needs
Heads of delegation and chief executives. A fixed transfer from Zurich timed to the aircraft, a private car for calls on the way up, and a car that is confirmed for the return before they land. First class sedans and SUVs suit this.
Teams and staff. Advisers, communications staff and assistants often travel a day ahead with the equipment. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 people with luggage, and one vehicle for the whole team keeps the arrival simple.
Side-event hosts. Companies that run a venue on the Promenade bring speakers and guests in and out all week. A standing order for airport arrivals in Zurich, with the Davos leg booked through the desk, means each guest is met by name without the host chasing cars.
Media and partners. Many travel on the train and need only the Zurich legs: a car from the airport to a hotel near Bahnhofstrasse the night before, or from Zurich Hauptbahnhof back to the airport at the end of the week.
Whatever the role, the inputs are the same: flight numbers, the Davos address, the first fixed commitment and any access instructions from the Forum or the host.
Cars in Davos during the meeting
For moves inside Davos, between hotels, side-event venues and the Promenade, many participants walk; distances are short, and access around the Congress Centre is controlled. A car with chauffeur on standby is useful for delegations with tight schedules, for guests staying in Klosters or further down the valley, and for evening events away from the centre.
Request on-site cars through the web booker or the desk. Vehicles available in Davos during the meeting are limited, and they are confirmed at booking with a price shown before you reserve. Groups of up to 12 can travel in an Executive Sprinter; see group transportation and government and diplomatic transportation.
For delegations, the desk can sign a non-disclosure agreement, and chauffeurs are briefed only on the timing and the route. Elly8.net is a transportation service, not a security company. Protective details and police escorts are arranged by the relevant authorities and the delegation, not by the chauffeur.
Train, Forum shuttles or chauffeur: an honest comparison
| Option | Price | Journey | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and the Rhaetian Railway | Public fare | Around two and a half hours or more, with changes | Solo travellers with light luggage |
| Participant shuttles, when offered by the Forum | Per the Forum's arrangements | Scheduled departures, registration needed | Registered participants on flexible schedules |
| Elly8.net chauffeured transfer | Shown in the web booker before you reserve | About 2 hours 10 minutes on a clear road, longer in WEF week | Executives, teams with luggage, tight schedules, late arrivals |
The Swiss railways are excellent, and the train is a genuinely good way to reach Davos, with changes along the way, typically including Landquart. Check the timetable on SBB. In past editions, the Forum has also offered shuttles between Zurich Airport and Davos for registered participants; check your participant information for 2027.
A chauffeured car wins when you land late, when you travel with luggage and a team, when your first commitment in Davos is fixed, when you need to work or take calls in private on the way, or when you need to leave at a moment the timetable does not suit. For the general comparison, see chauffeur vs airport shuttle.
Before and after Davos
The Annual Meeting is a winter week in the Alps, and some participants add a day or two. From Davos the Engadine and St. Moritz are close, and the desk books cars onward to Milan, Lake Como and Geneva. From Zurich, the signature Lucerne and Mount Pilatus day trip (8 hours) is US$740 in a business sedan to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter.
Event information for the town is on the Davos tourism site, and participant information on the World Economic Forum's own website.

Can you handle a delegation?

Do you meet business jets at Zurich?
Yes. The chauffeur meets you at the general aviation terminal named in the booking, with flight tracking. Slots for business aviation at Zurich are tightly controlled during WEF week, so confirm your arrival time with your operator before you book.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card.
