MIDO 2027, the international eyewear show, returns to Fiera Milano in Rho from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 February 2027. The organiser describes it as the only show that brings the whole eyewear and optical supply chain under one roof, with more than 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries and visitors from 160 nations, spread across seven pavilions and eight exhibition areas. Opticians, buyers, distributors, frame and lens makers, machinery suppliers and the trade press all arrive in Milan on the same weekend.
That is the transport problem in one sentence: three days, one fairground on the edge of the city, and a hall full of trade visitors trying to be there for 9 a.m. Elly8.net solves it with a chauffeur who meets you at Malpensa or Linate, a car by the hour that runs you out to Rho and back, and an evening car for client dinners in town, at fixed, all-in prices that do not change for the show.
How do you get to MIDO at Fiera Milano Rho?
Fiera Milano Rho is about 12 km (8 mi) from the Quadrilatero della Moda, roughly 20 minutes on a clear road and much longer at opening time. Take the M1 metro to Rho Fieramilano if you are alone and travelling light; book a chauffeur by the hour if you are hosting clients, carrying samples or moving a team.
The fairground sits at Strada Statale del Sempione 28 in Rho, north-west of Milan, between the A4 and A8 motorways. On our routing it is about 39 km (24 mi) from Malpensa, about 20 km (12 mi) from Linate and about 58 km (36 mi) from Bergamo Orio al Serio. MIDO opens from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday 8 February, per the MIDO visitor page. Everyone arrives in the same hour and leaves in the same hour, and the access roads to the fair carry the whole crowd at once.
Entry is by a pass requested in advance; registration for MIDO 2027 opened in September 2026, as announced in the organiser's registration notice. Get the pass first, then the car: the chauffeur drops you at the entrance you choose, but the pass is what gets you through the gates.
Arriving in Milan: Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo
Milan has three airports on our price list, all priced to the Quadrilatero della Moda, per vehicle and all-in:
| Airport | Distance to the centre | To Fiera Milano Rho | Business Sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Malpensa (MXP) | 47 km (29 mi), about 51 min clear | about 39 km (24 mi) | US$230 | US$300 | US$600 |
| Linate (LIN) | 9 km (6 mi), about 17 min clear | about 20 km (12 mi) | US$110 | US$145 | US$290 |
| Bergamo (BGY) | 55 km (34 mi), about 53 min clear | about 58 km (36 mi) | US$250 | US$325 | US$650 |
Most flights from North America land at Malpensa, and many European connections land at Linate. If you are heading straight from the plane to the fair, Rho is closer to Malpensa than the city centre is; enter Fiera Milano Rho as the drop-off in the web booker and it shows the fixed price. A First Class Sedan from Malpensa to the centre is US$405, and a Malpensa round trip runs from US$440 in a business sedan to US$1,140 in an Executive Sprinter. Linate round trips start at US$210.
On every airport pickup the chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you inside arrivals with a name board and waits at no charge after a tracked landing. Winter connections through northern European hubs can run late; the desk follows the real landing time, not the timetable. See airport transfers and airport meet and greet for how pickups work.
If you arrive by train at Milano Centrale from Rome, Turin or Zurich, book one of our train station transfers instead, priced through the web booker.
The MIDO day plan with an hourly chauffeur
Morning. The car collects you at your hotel about an hour before your first appointment. That covers the drive out of the centre and the queue of cars, taxis and coaches at the fairground in the first hour of the day, when the 9 a.m. opening concentrates everyone.
At the show. Booth meetings, collection previews and lunch take most of the day across the pavilions. The chauffeur drops you at the entrance you name, waits in the area or returns at the time you set, and meets you at an agreed point confirmed by text. If you leave for a showroom in town at midday and come back for an afternoon appointment, the car is already there.
Evening. MIDO week is also dinner week: brands host buyers, distributors take key accounts out, and agents plan the next season. A five-hour evening package keeps the same car and chauffeur from the fair to the hotel to dinner and back. The chauffeur follows local rules on drinks in vehicles.
Packages for the show, per vehicle and all-in:
| Package | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$90 per hour | US$115 per hour | US$145 per hour | US$180 per hour |
| Evening out & event night (5 hours) | US$450 | US$575 | US$725 | US$900 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$665 | US$850 | US$1,070 | US$1,325 |
| Corporate roadshow day (10 hours) | US$810 | US$1,035 | US$1,305 | US$1,620 |
A show day that ends with a client dinner usually fits the ten-hour corporate roadshow day, and our roadshow chauffeur page explains how long multi-stop days are scheduled. Shorter days work by the hour. Prices include the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; motorway tolls, fairground parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
Exhibitors, distributors and buyer groups
Exhibitors move stand teams every morning, and distributors often bring a group of opticians to see the collections over two days. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers with luggage at US$180 per hour in Milan and keeps the group together between hotel, fair and dinner. For a delegation that splits during the day, book one Sprinter for group runs and sedans for individual meetings under one reference. See conference and trade show transportation, group transportation and Sprinter van hire with a driver.
Sample cases, display trays and press kits travel better in a Business SUV than in the boot of a taxi. Tell us how many cases you are bringing when you book and we will suggest the vehicle class.
A corporate account puts every ride on one monthly invoice with a reference per traveller, which suits brands sending a team to Milan every February. Agencies arranging buyer trips can book through travel-agent accounts, and companies with regular Milan travel can use our corporate car service. The desk signs NDAs on request for confidential launches and meetings; Elly8.net provides transportation, not security.
MIDO transport options compared honestly
The organiser's how to get to MIDO page sets out the public options, and they are good. The M1 red metro line ends at Rho Fieramilano, and suburban, regional, Trenitalia and Italo trains stop at the Rho Fieramilano rail station. From Malpensa, the suggested route is the Malpensa Express to Milano Cadorna and then the M1. From Linate, take the M4 blue line to San Babila and change to the M1. From Bergamo, take the bus to Milano Centrale, then the metro. The same page lists free buses from Malpensa Terminals 1 and 2 and between the fair and the city centre, with a schedule to download, and more than 10,000 outdoor parking spaces at the fairground.
| Option | Cost | Best for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| M1 metro to Rho Fieramilano | €2.20 ordinary ticket | Solo visitors, light bags, hotels near the M1 | Packed at opening and closing; changes with luggage |
| Malpensa Express then M1 | €15 adult to Centrale, plus metro | Solo travellers from Malpensa | Change at Cadorna, luggage on the metro |
| MIDO free buses | Free, per the organiser's schedule | Visitors whose times match the bus | Fixed times and stops |
| Taxi | €114 fixed, Malpensa to any Milan address | Two travellers, no booking | Queues at the fair at closing time |
| Elly8.net chauffeur by the hour | From US$90 per hour, 3-hour minimum | Executives, exhibitors, buyer groups | Book ahead; show week fills early |
The Malpensa Express adult single to Centrale is €15, per Malpensa Express, and the €114 fixed taxi fare between Malpensa and any address in Milan is set by the Comune di Milano. If you are one visitor with a backpack and a single day at the show, the metro or the free bus is hard to beat, and we say so. A chauffeur wins when you are hosting clients, carrying samples, arriving with luggage, moving a group or going straight from the fair to a dinner across town. There is no surge on a fixed price. For the general picture, see chauffeur vs taxi.
The weeks around MIDO
February is busy in Milan. Milano Fashion Week Women's runs from 23 February to 1 March 2027, according to the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, so buyers who cover both eyewear and apparel stay on or come back a fortnight later. Fiera Milano runs other trade shows through the season, and the fairground's own site lists them.
If you add a free day, the signature Lake Como day trip (8 hours) is priced from US$665 in a business sedan to US$1,325 in an Executive Sprinter, and the private city highlights tour from US$360 to US$720. Elly8.net also covers Lake Como, St. Moritz, Zurich and Monaco, and a city-to-city car service connects them. More on Milan itself is on our Milan car service page. Flights and hotels can be booked through our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the car.
How booking works
Rides in Milan are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, and seven or newer for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley. Elly8.net is a member of LWD, LAI, HWD and VWD: LimousineWorldwide.Directory, LimousineAssociation.International, HotelsWorldwide.Directory and VacationsWorldwide.Directory.

Frequently asked questions
When is MIDO 2027?
MIDO 2027 runs from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 February 2027 at Fiera Milano in Rho. The halls open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Saturday and Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Monday. Entry is by a pass requested in advance through the organiser's website.
How far is Fiera Milano Rho from central Milan and the airports?
About 12 km (8 mi) from the Quadrilatero della Moda on our routing, roughly 20 minutes on a clear road and longer at opening time. Malpensa is about 39 km (24 mi) away, Linate about 20 km (12 mi) and Bergamo about 58 km (36 mi).
How much is a chauffeur for a MIDO day?
By the hour from US$90 in a business sedan, US$115 in a business SUV and US$180 in an Executive Sprinter, with a three-hour minimum. The full-day chauffeur is US$665 for eight hours and the corporate roadshow day US$810 for ten hours in a business sedan, all-in per vehicle.
What does a Malpensa transfer cost during MIDO?
The price does not change for the show. Malpensa to the Quadrilatero della Moda is US$230 in a business sedan, US$300 in a business SUV and US$600 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in, with meet and greet in arrivals. For a direct transfer to the fairground, the web booker shows the fixed price.
Where will the chauffeur meet me at the airport?
Inside arrivals, at the exit from baggage claim, holding a name board. The desk tracks your flight and adjusts the pickup to the real landing time, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. The chauffeur helps with bags and sample cases and walks you to the car.
Should I take the metro instead?
If you are alone with light luggage, the M1 to Rho Fieramilano is quick and cheap at €2.20, and MIDO's free buses are worth checking. A chauffeur is better for groups, samples, client hosting, luggage and days that combine the fair with dinners in town.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup and it is free. At 72 hours or less the fee is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100%. Refunds go to the original card. Times and addresses can be changed through the 24/7 desk.
Can you move an exhibitor team or a group of opticians?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers and costs US$180 per hour in Milan. Larger groups book several vehicles under one reference, and corporate accounts receive one monthly invoice with a reference per traveller.
