The United States holds the G7 presidency in 2027. The presidency rotates each year in a fixed order, which the Government of Canada lists as France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Italy and Canada; France held the presidency in 2026 and hosted the leaders at Evian from 15 to 17 June 2026. The presidency sets the priorities for the year, hosts the G7 Leaders' Summit, and organises ministerial meetings and related events, and many of the G7's engagement groups, from Business 7 to Youth 7, hold their own meetings before the summit.
As of late October 2026, the host site and dates of the 2027 Leaders' Summit had not been announced. Recent summits have been held in mid-June, Kananaskis on 15 to 17 June 2025 and Evian on 15 to 17 June 2026, but the US presidency will set its own calendar. Until it does, this page explains how we book delegation and VIP transport for a G7 year: Washington's airports and hotel districts first, then the summit itself wherever it is held. Every price is fixed and all-in, and the desk works 24/7.
What does a G7 summit mean for ground transport?
Expect security perimeters around the venue and the leaders' hotels, closures for official motorcades, controlled access for accredited vehicles only, and very high demand for SUVs and Sprinters all week. Book early, keep cars on hourly standby rather than ordering on demand, and use the drop-off points the organisers give to accredited guests.
A meeting of heads of government changes how a region moves, not just a venue. In Washington, the Metropolitan Police Department explains that a National Special Security Event can include summits of world leaders and meetings of international organisations, and that the city is frequently the setting for them. For an NSSE, the US Secret Service is the lead agency for the operational security plan, working with local, state and federal partners.
The reach can be wide. Ahead of the 2026 Evian summit, the ILO's practical guidance for delegates in Geneva warned that Swiss authorities would limit border crossings between the Canton of Geneva and France to seven crossing points from 12 to 18 June, with traffic disruption expected on major roads, motorways and around Geneva Airport, across the border from the summit itself. The lesson for 2027 is simple: plan for the closures before they are published, and confirm them the moment they are.

When the presidency names the venue, we will plan around the nearest airport and hotel districts. If it is in or near one of the 141 Elly8.net cities, the same desk books it under the same terms; if it is somewhere remote, we will say so honestly and book what we can, such as the airport legs and the Washington days.
Washington in a G7 year: airports, hotels and embassies
Washington is the seat of the US government and home to the embassies of every G7 member and the European Union's delegation, so many delegation journeys, briefings and receptions run through the city in a G7 year, whatever the summit venue. The three airports serve it very differently.
| Airport | Distance to downtown DC | Clear-road drive | Business sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reagan National (DCA) | 4 mi (6 km) | about 8 min | US$125 | US$165 | US$325 |
| Dulles (IAD) | 30 mi (48 km) | about 54 min | US$255 | US$335 | US$665 |
| BWI Thurgood Marshall | 34 mi (54 km) | about 52 min | US$270 | US$355 | US$705 |
First Class sedans and SUVs sit between those columns, from US$200 to US$475 one way. Dulles is the usual gateway for long-haul delegation flights; DCA is the closest airport to the State Department, Foggy Bottom and Capitol Hill; BWI often has cheaper flights but a long drive. The chauffeur tracks every flight and meets you inside arrivals with a name board, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. See Washington airport transfers and, for official and business aircraft, private jet and FBO transfers.
Many of the city's hotels sit in a small area: downtown and Penn Quarter, Foggy Bottom and the West End near the State Department, Georgetown, and the Wharf. Embassy Row along Massachusetts Avenue is a short drive away. Chauffeurs plan around the closed streets near the White House and the Capitol, motorcade holds and one-way grids.
The plan for delegations, staff and media
Hourly SUVs on standby. Sherpa teams, delegation support staff and corporate delegations rarely know their day hour by hour. Book a Business SUV or First Class SUV by the hour (3-hour minimum) and the chauffeur stays with you between hotels, briefings, embassy receptions and dinners. In Washington, hourly service runs from US$100 an hour in a business sedan, US$125 in a Business SUV, US$150 in a First Class SUV and US$160 in a First Class Sedan, to US$200 an hour in an Executive Sprinter. See hourly chauffeur service.
Full days and roadshow days. For principals and business leaders with packed calendars, the Washington full-day chauffeur (8 hours) runs from US$740 in a business sedan to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter, and the 10-hour corporate roadshow day from US$900 to US$1,800, all-in per vehicle. Book each day as its own reservation so each has a confirmation and chauffeur details. See roadshow chauffeur.
Sprinters for teams and press. An Executive Sprinter moves a team with equipment cases in one vehicle and one checkpoint stop, which matters when every vehicle approaching a perimeter is checked. Broadcast and press crews use Sprinter vans with a driver for daily loops between hotels and media centres.
Evenings. The evening out and event night package covers a reception or a dinner and the drive back, from US$500 in a business sedan to US$1,000 in an Executive Sprinter.
The summit itself. Once the host site is known, we book the airport arrival at the nearest airport, hotel loops and standby cars for accredited staff and guests, using the drop-off points the organisers publish. Leaders and official delegations travel in the arrangements set by their own services and the host government.
Discretion, NDAs and what we do not do
Government and diplomatic clients need discretion more than display. Elly8.net signs NDAs on request, keeps the same chauffeur across a booking where the schedule allows, and sends chauffeur and vehicle details in advance for accreditation lists. Chauffeurs do not discuss passengers, itineraries or conversations. See government, diplomatic and delegation transportation.
We are equally clear about the limits. Elly8.net is a chauffeured car service, not a security company. We do not provide armoured vehicles, protective details or motorcade escorts. Our cars carry staff, guests, advisers, business delegations and media around official movements, follow every instruction from police and security officers, and never attempt to enter a closed zone.
Rides in Washington, DC are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.
Elly8.net vs taxi, rideshare and Metro in Washington
On a quiet day, Washington's public options work well. Metrorail fares run from US$2.25 to US$6.75 one way on weekdays, according to WMATA, and the Silver Line reaches Dulles while the Blue and Yellow lines serve Reagan National. DC taxis are metered by the Department of For-Hire Vehicles at US$4.00 for the first eighth of a mile and US$2.56 per additional mile, with waiting charged at US$25 an hour when the cab is stopped or crawling, as set out on the DFHV fares page; approved taxi apps set their own fares.
Those numbers change character in a security week. A metered taxi stuck behind a motorcade hold keeps charging for the wait, app prices rise with demand, drivers may decline trips that end near a perimeter, and every ride is a new car with no copy of your access instructions. Metro is often the fastest way for a single delegate with a carry-on to reach a meeting downtown, and we say so.
A pre-booked chauffeur wins when the schedule is tight, the passenger is senior, a team needs one vehicle, or the trip ends at a checkpoint. The fare is fixed, it does not surge, and the same chauffeur waits for you. See Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur and chauffeur vs taxi.
Booking for a delegation or company
- Enter each pickup and drop-off, with flight or tail numbers for arrivals. Airport runs to downtown DC are fixed on the Washington DC page; embassies, hotels outside downtown and multi-stop days go through the web booker.
- Choose the vehicle: Business Sedan, Business SUV, First Class Sedan, First Class SUV or Executive Sprinter.
- Select Reserve now and pay by card, or book on account. Confirmation arrives by email, and chauffeur details follow before pickup.
Summit weeks book out early, and SUVs go first, so reserve as soon as your dates are fixed and adjust as the presidency publishes its calendar. Prices on the list do not change for the event; tolls and parking are billed at cost. Delegations and agencies with many travellers should open a corporate account for monthly invoicing and one point of contact, and travel agents booking for delegations can use a travel agent account.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card.
Elly8.net is a member of LimousineWorldwide.Directory, LimousineAssociation.International, HotelsWorldwide.Directory and VacationsWorldwide.Directory. For flights and hotels, our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net handles the rest; Elly8.net books the car only.
Beyond Washington
Delegations often combine Washington with other East Coast stops. The same desk covers Baltimore, Philadelphia, Richmond and Pittsburgh, and city to city car service for teams that prefer the road to the train. Frequently asked questions
Where and when is the 2027 G7 summit?
The United States holds the 2027 G7 presidency, but as of late October 2026 the host site and dates had not been announced. Recent summits were held in mid-June: Kananaskis, Canada, on 15 to 17 June 2025 and Evian, France, on 15 to 17 June 2026. We will plan around the venue once it is named.
Can I book now if the venue is not announced?
Yes, for the parts you know: Washington airport transfers, hourly cars for meetings in DC and multi-day standby. For the summit days, hold refundable dates with plenty of notice. Our cancellation terms are free more than 72 hours before pickup, so early bookings carry little risk.
How much is a car from Dulles or Reagan National to downtown DC?
Fixed fares to downtown DC run from US$125 in a business sedan from Reagan National, US$255 from Dulles and US$270 from BWI, up to US$325, US$665 and US$705 in an Executive Sprinter. Prices include the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet; tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Can the chauffeur drive into a summit perimeter?
Only where the organisers and security authorities allow it, normally with accreditation for the vehicle. The chauffeur goes as far as the rules permit, uses the drop-off point given to accredited guests, and follows every instruction from officers. Send your access instructions with the booking.
Do you provide armoured cars or security drivers?
No. Elly8.net is a chauffeured car service, not a security company. We do not supply armoured vehicles, protective drivers or escorts. We provide support sedans, SUVs and Sprinters for staff, guests, business delegations and media around official movements.
Can we keep the same car and chauffeur all week?
Yes. Book each day by the hour or as a full-day or roadshow package and ask for the same chauffeur across the bookings. The desk keeps continuity wherever the schedule allows and sends chauffeur and vehicle details in advance for accreditation lists.
Is a Sprinter better than several sedans for a team?
For six or more people with bags or equipment, usually yes. One Executive Sprinter means one vehicle at each checkpoint, one schedule and one chauffeur. Hourly Sprinter service in Washington runs at US$200 an hour, with a 3-hour minimum.
