The 99th Academy Awards take place on Sunday, March 14, 2027, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, with the show scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Pacific, as announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Academy has also said that the 2027 and 2028 ceremonies will be the last held at the Dolby before the show moves to downtown Los Angeles in 2029, so this is one of the final Oscars nights on Hollywood Boulevard.
Nominees, presenters, studio executives, publicists, stylists and guests of the after-parties all need to be in a precise place at a precise time, in formal dress, on a day when Hollywood's streets are controlled. Elly8.net books that ground transport at fixed Los Angeles prices: airport and private-jet arrivals, First Class sedans and SUVs by the hour on the day, Sprinters for teams, and cars through the night. The desk runs 24/7 and signs NDAs on request.
How does car service to the Oscars work?
The chauffeur picks you up on a schedule worked back from your red-carpet or arrival time, follows the credentialed vehicle route and security instructions to the drop-off the Academy or your studio gives you, and then waits nearby by the hour. After the show, the car collects you at an agreed point and takes you on to the parties and home.
Credentials decide everything on Oscars day. Arrival times, drop-off locations and vehicle passes come from the Academy, your studio or your publicist, not from the car company. Forward whatever you receive and the chauffeur works to it exactly; the chauffeur's name and vehicle details come with your confirmation in advance in case an access list needs them.

Hotels, homes and the hills
Oscars-day pickups are rarely at an airport or a big hotel driveway. They are at rented homes in the hills, private residences behind gates and boutique hotels on side streets, and each one changes the plan.
- Gated homes and estates. Send the gate code or the name of whoever opens the gate, and say where the car should wait. The chauffeur arrives early and waits out of sight of the house if you prefer.
- Hillside streets. Some roads in the Hollywood Hills and above Sunset are narrow and steep, with tight turns. A sedan or SUV is the safer choice there; an Executive Sprinter may need to collect a team at a wider street nearby. Tell the desk the address early and we will advise.
- Hotels. Busy hotel driveways fill on awards days. If your hotel has a preferred side entrance or a valet captain to coordinate with, add it to the notes.
- Two pickups, one car. If you collect a plus-one on the way, add it as a stop so the timing is right; multi-stop bookings are priced in the web booker.
Hollywood on Oscars week
The Dolby Theatre sits on Hollywood Boulevard inside the Ovation Hollywood complex. In the days before the ceremony, the red-carpet build and security perimeter take over the streets around the theatre, and lane and street closures follow. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) and the organisers publish closures and detours; the desk builds them into every pickup and reroutes chauffeurs when they change.
Distances to the theatre by road on a clear day:
| From | To the Dolby Theatre | Clear-road time | Elly8.net fixed fare to Beverly Hills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beverly Hills | about 4.8 mi (8 km) | about 10 min | by the hour from US$105 an hour |
| Hollywood Burbank (BUR) | about 8.7 mi (14 km) | about 18 min | from US$175 to US$455 |
| LAX | about 14.7 mi (24 km) | about 29 min | from US$170 to US$445 |
| Van Nuys (VNY) | about 14.9 mi (24 km) | about 22 min | from US$200 to US$520 |
| John Wayne Orange County (SNA) | about 50 mi (80 km) to Beverly Hills | about 64 min to Beverly Hills | from US$370 to US$965 |
Clear-road times are a floor. On Oscars Sunday, the approach to Hollywood Boulevard is slow and staged, so pickups are set much earlier than the distance suggests.
Arriving in Los Angeles
LAX, Burbank and Orange County. The chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you inside arrivals with a name board, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. Fixed transfers from LAX to Beverly Hills run from US$170 in a business sedan to US$445 in an Executive Sprinter; Hollywood Burbank is often the more convenient airport for Hollywood itself. See LAX airport transfers.
Van Nuys for private aviation. Many awards-week guests fly privately into Van Nuys. Give the desk the tail number and FBO and the chauffeur meets you there; Van Nuys to Beverly Hills is fixed from US$200. See private jet and FBO car service.
Awards season, not just one night
The Academy's season calendar runs for months: nominations are announced on Thursday, January 21, 2027, the Nominees Luncheon is on Tuesday, February 16, 2027, and there are screenings, guild events, parties and press days in between. A car by the hour covers a day of fittings, interviews and screenings without a new booking each time. Los Angeles hourly rates run from US$105 an hour in a business sedan to US$210 an hour in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, and a full-day chauffeur (8 hours) runs from US$775 to US$1,550.
Oscars day: the timeline
Getting ready. Hair, make-up and dressing usually happen at a hotel or home in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood or the hills. If a glam team or stylist must move between locations, a second car or a Sprinter keeps the principal's car free.
Departure. The desk works back from your arrival time, adding the time the controlled approach takes on the day. The chauffeur arrives early, stages near the pickup, and leaves on the agreed minute.
Drop-off. The chauffeur follows the credentialed route and every instruction from police and security staff, and drops you at the point your credentials specify. Gowns and tailored suits need space; First Class sedans and SUVs with wide rear doors are the usual choice, with the chauffeur opening the door.
During the show. The car waits on standby within your hourly booking. Your assistant or publicist can message the desk with changes at any time.
After the show. The night continues at the parties. The chauffeur meets you at an agreed point outside the controlled area and takes you on. The 5-hour evening out and event night package runs from US$525 in a business sedan to US$1,050 in an Executive Sprinter; longer nights continue at the hourly rate.
Studios, publicists and agencies
Studios and agencies often book many vehicles for one night: a car for each nominee and presenter, Sprinters for teams and a few cars held in reserve. A corporate account puts them on one monthly invoice, with one contact at the desk who holds the whole plan. NDAs are available on request, chauffeurs do not discuss passengers or conversations, and the desk never names clients. See also event transportation, film and production transportation and Sprinter vans with a driver.
Elly8.net is a car service, not a security company. Where a guest needs personal protection, it is arranged separately and the chauffeur works alongside it.
The right car for the red carpet
- First Class sedan: for one or two guests, the most refined choice.
- First Class SUV: more headroom and a wider door for gowns, and room for a guest plus a stylist.
- Business sedan or SUV: for team members, publicists and guests on the day.
- Executive Sprinter: for groups and teams with garment bags and kit.
Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, and seven years or newer for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley. If you want a stretch limousine for the night, see black car vs limousine for what fits a credentialed drop-off.
Elly8.net vs rideshare, taxi and Metro
On an ordinary day, Hollywood is easy to reach. The Dolby Theatre's own public transportation page directs visitors to the Hollywood and Highland station, and a regular one-way Metro fare is US$1.75. Rideshare and taxis serve Hollywood all day.
On Oscars Sunday, none of that works for a guest in formal dress with a credentialed arrival time. Ride apps cannot join a controlled vehicle approach, cannot wait during the ceremony, and are hard to find on closed streets afterwards, when prices also rise. A pre-booked chauffeur gives a fixed price, a timed arrival and a car waiting when you leave. See Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
